Awful fucking reffing. It's ridiculous at 4.38 when he tells Stade Francais to use it. There is no such rule in rugby. If your scrum is pushing the other one back you do not have to use it. He just didn't have the balls to make the right call a penalty against the Harlequins. Second time the Quins rob the Stade Francais on the European stage thanks to a ref.
@GodOfThunder15 it's not shown in this clip, but if you find the full series of scrums somewhere you'll see stade engaging early. should have been a free kick to quins, and at 4:35 just look at haskell holding robshaw back anyway.
what exactly are you saying there should be a penalty for anyway? quins go backwards slightly but it holds up fine.
A penalty for what, exactly? Not being crushed by the Stade scrum? I presumed the ref was saying use it because Stade were not going to get a penalty and they had to actually get the ball out of the scrum to get any points and win. It was useful advice not a threat
@indigojac08 The whole game was poorly reffed. Doesn't matter it was a long time ago. It's not the first time a French team is on the bad side of a poor reffing performance and it won't be the last either.
@GriddledSardines Poor ball handling and poor reffing are two different aspects of a rugby game that have no correlation what so ever. Had the ref been good or at least better, Stade Francais would have put up points in other ways and even though they did play poorly they were the better team. With a fair ref they had this game in the bag.
@wewille The thing is that I'm pretty sure his contract expired last year so he could have comeback just to play in the world cup and then gone back to the UK. Not like he did a lot of good last time when he got injured after a few minutes in the QF.
@murasaki007 So you don't think he is very good? NZ can not offer the big money to nick to be the all blacks no. 2 fly half. Why would he come back to sit on the bench and watch carter when he could be earning big bucks overseas?
@wewille I reckon the NZRU would have given Evans a very good deal to play for 1 or 2 years at most. He isn't paying for the highest paying club in Europe or anything. What did he have to lose? Surely he doesn't have so much pride that he wouldn't want another chance at the world cup if it meant being a backup.
@TJPricey4eva I know we almost threw it away! Stade had us pinned the whole second half but they should've pushed harder for the 7. We are always capable of getting a try, thankfully we did agaisnt the grain that night! What a party after too!
at 04:31 "use it! use it! use it!" and i will blow my whistle at your first mistake............

clancy last decision on the scrum was shocking. it was 100 times a penalty. SF was the better team but didn't have the vice to win it

@GodOfThunder15 no penalty. Scrum was fine. A penalty would spoil the game

@wewille Problem is that only one of them plays in NZ.

@murasaki007 yeah sad that nz could not keep nick evans but who can blame him for leaving. Always playing in the shadow of carter

How did Quins win this game. We saw so little of the ball in the 2nd half! But what a finish and what a night out in Cardiff it was :)
