Wow! Your hair is really growing can't wait til my hair is that length. I will BC today after 5 1/2 months of transitioning. Luv your vids keep them coming for hair and makeup.
Thank you ladypthefirst! Yea, I always separate my twists after I take them down. Some people like the look of just untwisting them and going. I'm sure one day I will too, but it wont be until my hair is MUCH longer. I am glad I could help. = )
Hi Tish.... All this time I didn't know we are suppose to finger comb our twist out! I would just untwist and then put my band on which was always ugly to me. Thx for the videos and keep them coming! God Bless you! : ) I'll hit you up on fb....
@ Pemb152 I detangle almost every other day with my fingers. I don't shampoo very often, only as needed. Twice a month usually, maybe three depending on how dirty my hair is. I twist my hair every night before I go to sleep, so I usually just detangle it with my fingers before each twist.
Unless you are noticing thinning, or excessive shedding that is making your hair look shorter, then I wouldnt worry. Just make sure you are handling your hair very carefully and make sure you detangle on a regular basis. I typically do once a week, sometimes two times a week. The less you detangle the more you are giving your hair a chance to tangle, break or shed.
Hey Pemb152! There is a such thing as too much shea butter/EVOO however, I highly doubt you are using too much. The shedding could be caused from a number of things. You could be handling your hair too harshly when you are twisting it, or you may not be detangling enough. Also remember, on average we shed 100 pieces of hair a day. So if you are keeping your hair twisted for long periods of time, just add 100 pieces of lost hair to each day its twisted and that could be what you are seeing.
@lateisha12379 Thank you I am not detangling enough. On one if your videos I watched you said you co wash maybe once every 2wk if I am not mistaking, however, you mentioned you rarely shampoo maybe once or twice a month. So, what detangling should I do. My hair is healthy growing as you stated like weeds. So, maybe I am worried for nothing. Ok my reg is Kinky curly shampoo/leave in and custard. Creme of nature because I still have it and Pantene.
@lateisha12379 What is your reg for detangle I read once or twice a week, but what products would you recommend and are you still using the givonne conditioner and leave in. Also, I may be too rough. Thanks a bunch
@lateisha12379 I am considering the givonne conditioner/leave in also a Suave hydration conditioner. What do you to detangle and how often? Thanks a bunch
Thank you sooooooo much for sharing your videos. I love your hair and your video's have truly help me. I am not wearing natural hair styles for the styles but more so for the overall health of my hair. So, I mainly where it twisted under a silk scarf, but Lateisha, tell me if shedding was an issue for you. And if shedding was then what to do? I am the shea butter/EVOO queen next to you. So, is there such a thing as too much shea/evoo? However, thank you again for helping me?
