  • Love the Jewish remark. You, sir, are a bozo of the highest order. Please put away the Nazi uniform before surfing the Internet. Or is that the black robes of Islam? Anyway, your form of nascent hatemongering isn't needed or required here. Yes, he's a genius; but then again, anyone who isn't as microcephalic as you (which means practically everyone on Earth) is a genius to you.

  • What a precocious prodigy!

  • does he make his own songs?

  • @ljcljc1 oh...not the things in the video!!!!

    Momo♥

  • I luv this kid... Quick hands

  • I luv that kid Im 15 and i dnt play not even a half of what he play

  • A bit like a young Glenn Gould. His tastes and manner of playing are actually quite Gouldian, even if he does not know that yet!

  • Luckiest boy in the world!

  • who's the kid plays the 5 year old Vitus, he was amazing too!

  • I think the hands of the 5 year old Vitus are the ones of Teo too... the sizes are almost the same I think

  • Is he related to Angela Gheorghiu?

  • that's what i was wondering...but i'm sure if he was related to someone famous they'd share it.

  • Teo Your The Best Check My Movie out it is 5 minutes The name of The Movie is Higher Rhythms. Sony Pictures Classics You can also look At my Movie. Please Right A Good Comment Tell Everybody I need a audience and Tell them to right good Comments.

  • Impresionante la calidad de la expresiòn artìstica del chico, puede ser un gran pianista.

  • i'm wondering.. al those piano prodigys are started in a verr young age but what happend if they hadn't a piano(keyboard) and no money for lessons and piano(keyboard)? would they still have the capacity to do it at an level of a prodigy if they are 15,16, 17 and older?

  • This is an interesting concept. I take no lessons for the piano but i do have a keyboard at home, even though i don't take lessons i play around his level(at least in this video and at this age). I am only 14 and have been playing for about 3-4 years now. so i think if you have the talent it will work its way out regardless.

  • I saw this movie! I loved it! Teo is a great actor and sooo soooo talented! I would love to meet him someday. He is my age now :)

  • which pieces is he playing? Can anyone name them all?

  • Hi! The first piece is Beethoven - 32 variations on C minor, after he plays Etude "la campanella" - Piano transcription by Liszt, after he plays a Schumann sonata, I don't remember which of them. :)

  • he's wearing that touch screen tissot. sweet!

  • where can i have the partition for the 32 variations of beethoven?

  • that's a quote from HISTORY BOOKS AND TRUSTED INTERNET SOURCES. do u know where those places are? they're in ASIA, idiot...whoever told u that mesopotamia was located in egypt? were ur teachers that stupid??

  • Mesopotamia (from the Greek meaning "The land between the two rivers")[1] is an area geographically located between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, largely corresponding to modern Iraq[2], northeastern Syria,[2] southeastern Turkey,[2] and the Khūzestān Province of southwestern Iran[3][4].

  • r u stupid....dya know that mesopotamia was in asia? moron....read funfest's comments again...ur probably sitting, sleeping, eating or using a lot of asian-made stuff...ur country is powered by our oil...idiot...maybe u shud try thinking just how much u guys depend on asia...

  • go fuck yourself you worthless crosseyed cunt!

  • Mesopotamia was in Egypt(North Africa)...not asia!

  • Asia got no good musical artists, Mozart, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix or Rolling Stones, ACDC...are/were were not from asia.

  • I'm guessing you're wise is an Asian and you're not getting some. rofl

  • hey...nofear....have u heard that the chinese people have invented most of the things that made life easier?..

are u stupid?...haven't had any history lessons?...

dya know how many things asians did first? even before the west was civilized?...

ever heard of gunpowder? trade? civilization? how bout the compass? dya think the west would be discovered without the compass? stupid...

do u even know that civilization started in asia.. next time, be sure u know stuff before u even speak...moron

  • giolololo or whatever your name is, you are wrong, do NOT make up your own fake history...wake up

  • Sumer (Sumerian: 𒆠𒂗𒂠 ki-en-ĝir15[1][2], Akkadian: Šumeru; possibly Biblical Shinar ), located in southern Mesopotamia, is the earliest known civilization in the world-NOT in asia!

  • to giolololo thanks for saying the RIGHT THING! lol

  • asians always copy others. Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Chopin..were NOT asians. Albert Einstein was NOT asian. Asians have NOT invented anything in history...asians are copycats and dumb losers.

  • to NOFEARNOLIMIT...do you drive a car? asians probably buit that...how about the computer you are using? yep probably that too...and next time you pick up an object look for the made in china/ thailand/ korea/ hongkong on te bottom...it will be there :)

  • you are wrong again. I do NOT use anything made in asia or china. asians copy others all the time, they are nothing...they are slaves that produce cheap copies of others inventions. they are copycats & losers...wake up!

  • and this is why people bomb other countries your hating will come back to you...carma...oh boy it will hurt

  • get a life, get a wife, get laid, get paid, get high, die loser

  • to nofear...it sounds like the only way you get off is by calling other people names...try looking in the mirror, it might make you see how wrong you are

  • oooh name calling, are you playing the limbo game? how low can you go because all those names mean nothing to me...keep talking shit since you are so good at it

  • Prodigy or not, he's clearly quite talented/skilled and intelligent. And the movie, "Vitus", is a really enjoyable film.

  • I wouldn't call him a prodigy. A great player, most certainly!

At age 11, it's hard to be called a prodigy, lest you play what your teacher plays. Many kids are called such at an early age, but many are not so.

I don't like how he *appears* to be money-concerned. I'm going to minor in music, let it be something to fall back on, if in financial need. I will always love my music 'till the day I die--I adore it! He doesn't *appear* to do so.

  • You're the load your mother should've swallowed. Die, fucker!

  • That's rude...

All I'm saying is I just think he's a great player, but not a prodigy. Also, he appears (though I can't say for sure, I've never met him) that he is concerned with money. Maybe, he enjoys it, but that's not what I picked up.

I suppose everyone is entitled to there own opinion.

  • I submit my will to thee, master.

  • The first piece is Beethoven: Variations In C Minor

  • I thought it was beethoven, but thought again that it sounded a little like early brahms

  • it's weird that I saw your comment today, because I have been looking for a classical sonata to work on. And today I'm hunting through the first book of Beethoven's sonatas and low and behold I find it. Your comment didn't help *much, because it wasn't written as a Theme and Variations specifically, It's actually the second movement of the 13th piano sonata, or op. 27 # 1, but it is in c!

  • haha thank you for the clarification

  • I feel like an idiot that section is a little similar...at least in the same key and at that moment I thought I had found it,..but obviously it is Beethoven's 32 variations and not the sonata I was talking about

  • wow, this kid has been blessed with a wonderful talent from God! but, since he's young, he doesnt understand that you shouldnt just play for the money, you hsould play for your love, and sharing your music

  • please someone tell me what the name of the piece is at the beginning

  • you got in your finger tips the very future you will have.. God bless.. your so magnifico! congratulations from the Philippines

  • Das Konzert von heute war super schön!!!Gratulation!Grossartig.Weiter so!

  • i love the firm of flying ~~~

  • that kid has the force...

  • By The Way

  • well if you met the teachers at our school you would see why:p

  • that was a great movie

  • such an amazing talent i am practising 4 or 7 hours a day but i'm not good like him he's a genius

  • your not practicing 7 hours a day!

  • omg, im so behind. im 14, and i looked at la campanella once, and i said, "wow, this looks easy". lets just say that "looks can be decieving" aplies well here.

  • la campanella is regarded as one of the hardest pieces written for the piano... and he can play it at age 11...

  • i loved that movie

  • nice to see u teo - so small and INNOCENT! wow people will be shocked to see how u'v turned out. anyone who reads this, trust me, i am his classmate.

  • your not lying be truthful, because i want to know somebody who knows him, but even better, i'd like to know him!!!!

  • he goes 2 my school

  • lol he's got a girlfriend:p

  • o that sucks, well I'm only 13 and still growing gorgeous! what does she play?

  • flute (and violin)

  • this guy can play la campanella at age 11 that is nearly immpossible

  • well its possible

  • HOLY SHIT, he can play La Campanella at age 11

  • i know y try this kid is amazing what the hell

  • Why do I even try? Geez, lol. 5 stars.

  • You try anyway because music isn't just virtuosity.

  • the movie es wonderfull... I saw it yesterday this is the last week ok exhibition in argentina.

  • I watched it 14 times going on 15 tomorrow

  • He's good. He doesn't even have music sheet notes to play.

  • what's his name?

  • teo gheorghiu

  • you mean his really name? well it's teo gheorghiu.

  • excelent mozart bach

    1# pianist.

  • "If you want to see the whole movie - check out my profile website

full movies, tv-shows, anime, cartoons - got everything and it doesn't cost you a dime"

  • i nearly cried watching the concert scene of the film... some might say, there r other better pianists at his age but still it's outreagous how he can feel the spirit of the music at this age... i'm just... touched.. :)

  • Well, the Schumann concerto is just gorgeous. You can't HELP but cry! :D

  • i dont think there is an better pianists at his age!

  • evgeny kissin, geroges cziffra, to name a few

  • Nope, of course not :) INstead you ignorantly boast about it to people who couldn't care less :)

I'm extremely impressed with mister Teo. La Campanella from an 11 year old - wow!

  • I see...*wink wink*

  • These kids must be taught a modern repertoire, 1900 upwards!!

  • the piece at the end is still the beethoven variations...just a different variation. we also here before that the Schumann piano concerto and before that the Paganini Etude La Campanella of Liszt. good playing!

  • What piece is he playing right at the end of the video?

  • 32 variation in c min beethoven

  • watch Patricio Molina when he was 3 years old playing the piano. also you can see him when he was 6. those videos are amazing!!!!!

  • Teo currently attends the Purcell School in London. He studies piano with William Fong. He isn't exactly 26 yet, more like 14 ... soon to be 15. In September he will be performing in Wigmore hall along with other purcell school students. He's still very good, extremely musical and also a very talented chamber musician!

  • Oooops, I forgot to ask. Please let me know where can I buy the dvd copy of this film here in New York? Thanks!

  • I just wonder what is he doing now in real life? If he was 11 on this video, that means he is 26 years old now?. I saw the film in New York last month and it was great! You cannot really predict his character in the movie. I like the part where he anonimously played Dr. Wolf. Sony Pictures, it would be great to let us know what he's been up to now. The boy in this video is very ambitious but I like his way of thinking. Hope he got that far.

  • omg a practice room full of graad pianos!!! that is heaven...

  • oops i mean grand lol

  • I'm going to see the film tomorrow :)

  • I'm sorry I cannot comment how amazing you are words do not express enough

  • i saw the word prodigy thinking of the band and i was expecting to hear it too lol i need some bacon, he's brilliant at that piano

  • I hope to hear about this kid after some time again.

At the time of filming this clip he was 11 -- just a kid. In "Vitus" he is 12 and that is completely different person. I saw him in ReelerTV clip where he is 14 and that again is completely different person. And each time he stays one stage higher.

The most important thing is, I think, that he never will be spiritless music robot. Good luck, Teo!

  • I've seen better pianists at this age. The odd thing is this kid was born in 1992 so that would mean he would be older than 11, yet this was put on youtube in March 2007.

  • yay wexlovedxbarney!! he also knows french too!

  • holy crap! Alright so I'm swiss and I speak german, swiss german, and english fluently and not only is this kid an amazing pianist, but his accent in both languages is almost flawless. wow. i guess I'm the esame except I'm not an INCREDIBLE pianist haha.

  • 他有一个显要的继父他否则不是那么好的

  • huh?

  • I think that Teo has an unique talent including technical virtuosity and a considerably amount musical knowledge. In my opinion, Teo would be able to play in the Royal Festive Hall if he practices hard. Good luck to him in the future! P.S. give the poor kid a break!! :)

  • i wish a lot of success to this young pianist.

i agree that he is very good. but honestly he is far, far distant from being a piano/music prodigy. only on youtube there are at least 20 even younger kids that play the piano MUCH better in every respect, musically/technically/... the problem is that Teo will maybe understand the reality too late and his ambitious sponsors will be not any more here to support an unrelistic dream...

  • this is not his fault at all, the people that are promoting him should be very careful when publishing words like prodigy, genius, brilliant etc. - and let HIM show his real abilities. i hope that i am totally wrong with my verdicts!

btw. in the film he was acting not so good, in any case he is a better pianist than an actor!

  • he's very good

  • umm i dont think this is a piano prodigy i mean i could do that when im 10 or 11 if i didn't take a break after 2 years of learning... there r more amazing kids out there.... who r like 7 or 8... i guess he is just one who practices hard....

  • Wait....that's a piano prodigy?

Not trying to brag, but im just curious...

Ok, I'm a 12-year-old Korean and I play the songs he play. seriously! I recognize the songs. The second one that he plays, the one he plays standing up, around the second part after he talks about Beethoveen, that song is actually Korean!

It's called Romance by TaeGuky. TaeGuky is the artist's name. It's a really old song. so uhm. ok bye

  • yup i believe you... there's even more amazing kids out there on youtube... they're all under 10 years of age too...

  • he probably plays more difficult pieces, although the variation by beethoven and the mazeppa (liszt)he plays in this video are really difficult pieces.

  • he actually plays la capanella

  • you're right. it's la campanella. i don't know why i wrote mazeppa.thanks for the correction.

  • Hey there! You have great talent; just keep practicing and I'm sure you'll end up in the Albert Hall or Royal Festival Hall someday! Kudos to you for such an excellent performance!
