I give it a 4/10. I had just watched a lets play on the XBOX version and I didn't know they were different. Let this be a lesson kids always reasearch a game before you buy it.
I've played both the console version and the 3DS version and IMO, the 3DS versions full experience was better to me. ESPECIALLY the final boss, the final boss for the console one was stupid compared to the 3DS' one.

I don't feel that this game is worth the money though, I've some complaints about what I've seen in this game. A major thing that bugs me is how damn persistent sega is on giving sonic a homing attack, I got over it playing sonic 4 but don't throw your "cool new" shit at a good classic game, I want it re-mastered not revisioned. Also I feel that the story line of this game is so tacky, and I wish they had spent more time on the game. Sega is on the right path and they should keep trying.
Tell me, what does the 3DS version of SG, have that the console versions don't? Also, please tell me the game looks better in real life, other than what I'm seeing here? To top it off, I went to Wal-Mart and saw the game for 30 bucks, but I decided to wait, is it worth getting? Please answer all 3 question, please.
I just got it today and I beat the classic stages and have played two of the dreamcast stages and my favourite stage so far is Casino Night and my least favourite is Mushroom Hill and I like the Metal Sonic boss more than the way I've seen it in the PS3 version
Great video man :) This reminds me a bit of Sonic Colors, I beat it very quickly, and then after, I didn't really have the drive to beat the levels and get an S Rank... Thanks for making this known to me, Sonic is a great title for portable consoles, but I really do want to see the game become a little more fulfilling and longer without doing the S Rank thing and multiple missions. Thank you for giving a much more informative and insightful review of this game. I got this game (with my 3DS) for Christmas and so far, I can't put the game down; it's so much fun. If people have differing opinions, that's fine...but many video game critics out there are such nit-picky snobs.
Those who think this is "just another Sonic Rush title" need to shut their lips, and just sit back and enjoy.
No offense, but I'm a bit surprised that SEGA fans like you guys aren't all that good at Sonic games, at least judging by your gameplay footage...you don't know to stop moving after being flung into the air to land safely before holding forward, you fail to boost whenever possible, and frequently make amateurish mistakes.
Whats the online multiplayer like is the latency good or bad for some players also if there is high latency (lag) do both players move slow or teleport.
@Modernsonic1 It is decent. You'll beat very quickly though...so if you like getting S-ranks than that is where the real value is at. Otherwise go with an HD version.

Nice review. Your voice could have been a bit louder and less muffled though. I am enjoying this game but i am really annoyed at the homing attack given to classic sonic and modern sonic having side scrolling levels.
@segashiro even though i do love the classic games i dont mind that classic sonic has the homing attack because in sonic 3d blast he had the homing attack so it is technically correct. still i have one complaint is while you were filming i dont know why you kept the 3d on knowing we couldnt see it but otherwise great job. i allready own and beaten this game (all s rank and 100 missions done) and i wanted to see what youtube thought of it.i agree that modern sonic should have 3d levels
@volkswagenginetta Actually I didn't keep the 3D on...between filming it with an HD camera and the game running in 2D - it introduced some interlacing. The "3DS" system image is a static image running underneath the resized video.
