I'm a big fan of Green Day, and a fan of Husker Du too.
But for those people who are posting comments about Green Day, you guys are in the wrong video (although yes, they did a cover of this song but that doesn't mean you're gonna post your shit here).
Can we just listen to the music and stop arguing about being punk and whatnot since we're here for the music in the first place?
Not at all. The drumming and strumming sure - on Green Day's older material, not the new ballads they make. But what riffs? They have very similars strumming and drums but not riffs at all.
if it wasn't for Green Day, I wouldn't have found great music such as this. they helped me discover music, and steered me away from the modern day crap.
I've listened to Husker Du for the last 5 years of my life. Just got dumped by the girl who I've been with for the last 4. This song is exactly what I'm feeling right now. I don't know if it makes me feel better or the opposite, but I'll be damned if Grant Hart didn't know exactly what this feels like.
Green day always had a way of changing them selfs without changing them selfs if you get me,and thats why they are still around and they have only gotten better with time ;)

I think it sounds REALLY Green Day's style. If the title of the cover they did woudn't have said it actually was, I'd have thought it was another unrealeased song.
Most of early punk was pop influenced (Ramones, Clash, even the Sex Pistols had a lot of pop elements in their songs) and Joe Strummer (RIP) really liked Green Day.

When I heard this song first it was 2 years ago,I was sitting in my room at 4 or 5 am,without sleep and I heard this song on the radio.I liked the song a lot and at least it cheered me up a bit.

I first saw Green Day in 1991, when they played a show in Sioux Falls, SD at a little community center named Nordic Hall. They were living out of their van and travelling like mad men. Whatever success they have had has come from extremely hard work. Living so close to Minneapolis, I was also able to see Husker Du play several times. With so many terrible bands out there today, these two are the last ones anyone should be criticizing.

Husker Du...one of my favorite bands ever. Love this song. I don't like Green Day. But seriously people, live and let fucking live. Green Day can cover this song if they like. If you don't want to hear it, then don't listen to it. That's what I do. Jebus!

@sunchild90 Stupidity branches from ignorance created by people who actually sit there and have nothing better to do than pull apart fans of other bands, and the music of other bands. I'm a musician myself, and highly respect all others that play and write; but that doesn't mean I like everything. Tearing apart a fan because they like different music than you is the equivalent to tearing apart someone because they believe in a different God than you. Sometimes, it's just what makes people happy.

When I heard this song first it was 2 years ago,I was sitting in my room at 4 or 5 am,without sleep and I heard this song on the radio.I liked the song a lot and at least it cheered me up a bit.

I don't see why so many people are getting offended so easily by people raggin on Green Day. So what, there are a bunch of people out there who hate a band you love, big deal, get over it.
If you were really 'punk', you wouldn't give a fuck what they thought about Green Day because the fact that you love then is all that matters.
That said, I don't care for Green Day at all, but that's just me.
