  • Great. Very interesting painter who I had never heard of. This is one reason I love to watch your videos. Also love the mention of Florine Stettheimer and the sweet editing. Thanks!

  • bram bogard the king of 'GOOBY' painting

  • these look great in person, live, 3 inches away:)

  • I like the artist attitude. Seems he really enjoys his work and life. Peace

  • Dear fans of the James Kalm Report. Ive just linked an extensive interview with Salt Lakes own conceptual art gad-fly, and internet maven, Qi Peng. This is a lengthy piece but hits on questions Im constantly asked. Check it out at the lorenmunk site

    Thanks

    James Kalm

  • Thank you James

  • thanks for the video James, great to travel with you.

  • Was that Gary and his cucumber in one hand and a gooby in the other?

  • great great show...esp. love the cupcake piece which almost reminds me of ralph humphrey who shares his weirdo formal mastery persistence. i also recall a split second in an old kalm report from some group show containing the work of geoff davis and the passing promise that there would be possibly a studio with him...and also ron gorchov...just keeping track of things

  • I'm still planning on doing the Davis piece, when I get some time (he's my next door neighbor). Ron is a bit shy, and busy, but I'm keeping it in mind,

    thanks

    JK

  • hey, it would be great if you could capture some footage of brooklyn based artist anthony lister.

  • I LOVE this stuff! I had never heard of him before. I love the surfaces, color, and textures. The imagery is a hoot too! Thanks! I am going to GOOGLE this guy! :-)

  • I am not a big fan of the "birthday-cake"effect. Interesting artist though. Thanks James.

  • THANKS James....I really enjoyed the show and I look forward to going alone with you on your next gallery tour. Thank You

  • Daydreams are the best source material. Reminds me of birthday cake and they could get deeply ugly if not for their forced happy color palette. A whole gross/pretty thing happening. Lots o' goob.

  • Thank you James Kalm.

    Best-

  • Really interesting artist. It is like when your talking to him he looks intense, then he laughs like a 14yr old school girl with a big smile too funny!

    Nice work as well.

  • Nice show and a nice person.

  • Goobyism, I like that

  • Gooby? Can I quote you?

    Awesome work, loved it ...

  • beautiful!!
