i don't understand using loops.... if i used em, i think i'd just feel like i put together a puzzle, not actually created anything. you also don't sound like ray romano
@gomachols sry dude but thats bullsh*t... if u use a violine for example (wich can be used in allmost every genre) then u use a sound someone recorded for u... so its the same... and loops needn't allways be recorded by someone else... go out in the nature, record, something, change the sound/mood of it in reason and use it as a loop... BÄM u created something new and creativ... u needn't use Dr.Rex as it's said here... do things with it u feel like to... thats the meaning of creativity...

I got an mpk 25 an everytime I open kong it's works fine wit my mpk but thn wen I create a redrum or malstrom the sound first work anymore????? Help please!!!!!
first off, use recycle for loops, then dump into dr rex. Not only will you be able to adjust the project loop tempo to just about whatever you want (pending on recycled setting), you'll be able to edit individual slices as well. A big reason why artists use rex for drum loops and not the reason samplers is for basic convince. If you wanted to specifically modify a drum loop with a sampler, you'd have to use another program (like sound forge) to slice up individual drum hits (Continued)
@fpb221985 (Kick, snare, hi hat, effects, ect.) then import and edit each file into the sampler, which takes for ever. Hence, Dr. Rex. This is more of a concrete loop based tutorial. I learned portamento in my 5th grade music class.
4 mins and i learned hot to make notes go weeeewoooowwhhaaaaaweeee, and the wrong way to loop a drum beat. 5 stars for the effort though. :)
@fpb221985 fyi not everyone has recycle but i agree creating a rex file really allows u to use loops in everyway why cant reason just put recycle intp reason already
this is a great tutorial for either one of the following two people:
1. A 4 year old girl
2. A producer with no musical creativity what so ever

Or you could use a real DAW that doesn't require external software to turn a wave into a sliced loop.
Built-in slicing/editing has been a basic feature of most daws for at least 7 years. Why Reason is so far behind remains a mystery.
Try Ableton or FL Studio.
