General reaction to whenever I play this game: Dat archer spam.

the one (main) thing that annoyed me about medieval 2 total war is that you couldn't play as the saxons. history channel's got alot of information about the saxon invasions and disputes, i wouldn't mind seeing a game about that.

+this game looks good, i'll get it :)

@niles136 There is, an old Star Wars game, I don't remember the name. You played as an individual, random soldier and when you died you came back as another soldier.

Not really - its a mix of RPG and strategy game. Think of your squads as you would characters in a roleplaying game and you've got a good idea of the style of gameplay. Equip them, level up, armour them, choose skills, personalise appearance & shield patterns etc.

What i really like in this game is those two :

Almost infinite number of equipment combinations.

Specialise your squads with over 100 unique skills.

That is tottally great !!!

RRP is £39.99 for both PS3 and XB360. I wouldn't put it that high since RTS are normally great sellers for PC and not for the XB or PS.

what MrDazza222 means is that since the cost is $30 and Medieval Total is a little more expensive, but a gamer would choose Medieval since it is more action oriented...it has a big faction variety and a campaign map depth and others...in lesser words it is better to buy a game with more packages in (factions, lots of troops, action battles, SIEGES, assassinations , crusades,jihads ect) for a little higher cost , than buy a game with lesser packages in...

@FreddyCrouger666 They are completely different game types. You can't compare. One is a RPG/Strategy game the other an RTS. Only people who haven't played both would make the comparison. They've got the pricing completely wrong anyway. Bizarre and uninformed logic of the best kind :)

@SlitherineGames i know!!! But i am not saying for myself; just for the few millions out there who are unable to tell the difference....=)

and i don't know if you have add it in the game : when upgrading armor mostly is it possible to make the difference visible...for example when i have a militia and i upgrade its armor it should get a leather armor-> hard leather->leather and a little chain-mail and finish with chain-mail...if it is 20 upgrades each 5 there should be a visual difference..

@FreddyCrouger666 Every armour level has its own unique unit graphic. Every weapon & shield has its own unique graphic. You can also personalise the shield pattern and uniform colours on a per squad basis.

Hi there, I love your effort to your historical games, but, to be honest, and I am being kind, as I do want to see you doing well, you can get medival:total war for about £10 now, and i've played both games, and it is better.

Tat isnt just my opinion, but that of many other gamers.

I like the way you released it on console, and I loved commander europe at war and great battles of rome on PSP, but you need to pump up the graphics and go all out-surely History channel has more

I played M2TW...I still do...but I never had a good enough pc system to experience it in full. Now that I have an xbox I'm hoping GBM is gonna be good on it

I was sceptical at first but Tim (from Lordz) talked me into getting it. I can say that GBM is much more like a wargame than M2TW. So its up to you whether you like arcade styled game (M2TW) or you like tabletop wargames. If its the later you would like GBM. Also the rpg features in it is a plus. The only thing i don't like is that its scope is smaller than M2TW

what do you mean "crappier" anyway? that's kind of vague. graphically, i prefer great battle's look over medieval 2's. the character models in this game are much higher detailed, and includes normal mapping.

gameplay wise i think medieval 2's combat system offers more freedom.

It looks worse than Medieval II Total War, but I'm willing to bet that the actual gameplay is much better.

This was definitely a drastic change in style for me. I've an affinity for shooters and the occasional real time strategy like the Total War series, but this was definitely one of the best attempts at combining hardcore niche genre of turn based strategy with the appeal of RTS games.

Surprisingly good visuals for an indie strategy title.

i dought there will be gunpowder units cuz i think it takes place in the 1400's, ad ya there will be more factions

there is gunpowder based units, just basic ones, as gunpowder wasnt used very much in the 1400's as it was new

Xboxguy= they did have gunpowder units in that time period they just weren't very reliable and often more likely to kill there own men than the enemy so that is why they aren't often pictated untill the 1600's when they became a more valuble unit that was more reliable.
