That and the Bernstein would have to be the best two renditions of the Requiem ever! The Bohm tempo, although a lot slower is so dramatic. This is just perfect!
at first, i didn't like this version because i was used to faster versions. But once i listened to it a second time, it came to me. It's better slow because it becomes so much more dramatic! It's perfection, written by the hand of God.
@plagueofangels666 I like the faster version, too. But this is nice, especially because the runs are so clear. It's really hard for a choir to do that when it's fast.
@19GirlBad Actually Mozart only left some notes to this part of the Requiem. He just wrote Introito, Kyrie and Dies Irae before he died. His friend, Franz Xaver Süßmayr, wrote the other part of the Requiem. Im not saying Mozart couldnt write this, because he could do so much more...
@danielbb5 Mozart wrote all the vocal parts up to Sanctus (but only the first 8 bars of Lacrimosa). And you can easily hear that. Once the Sanctus begins it's like WTF.
ok.. no more tears left... crying and laughing...

Way to slow. Great anyway :)

@phantomheat41 I agree. This is just too slow. It sounds stagnant and sluggish to me.

@karlakor I like the slow version more (except Dies Irae)

since I heard the news of MJ's death, I've been listening to Mozart's requiem over and over again, and this is my favourite part.
