Uh...no. Read Stephen Kinzer's "All The Shah's Men" where he shows the entire history of the coup. It took quite a while to plan, August 15 and 17 is when they actually carried out the plan. After the coup the US owned 40% of Iran's oil wealth and the Shah was put back on his throne. Yes, the imperial British were involved too, in fact, they were the ones who asked the CIA to help them overthrow Mossadegh. Read Kinzer's book, it's also all documented in the CIA's archives.

I attended a Jewish-Christian meeting on Long Island in 1978 where Mike Evanswas ministering. As for Shah's vision: 10 years after Shah himself in his own book condemned 1 party political systems in communist countries (indicating a dictatorship), he himself came up with his own 1 party system "Rastakhiz Party"! I suggest you read SERIOUS scholarship on Iran Kapuscinski's "Shah Of Shahs" where he chronicles the regime's brutal police state tactics of torture, intimidation and submission where the Shah and his friends sucked up Iran's wealth, even ordering their lunches to be flown in from Paris while the rest of the country starved. Interesting that you cite Dreyfuss, read his other book, "The Devil's Game," where he shows how Reagan and US foreign policy helped launch Jihadism, he also explores Iran.

Again, why after 1977 was the CIA still training SAVAK and why was the Shah granting immunity to US officials? In "Legacy Of Ashes: The History of The CIA" it is also documented how Nixon and Kissinger were mad, but they preferred the Shah to an independent, revolutionary government.

Ok, every scholar on Iran, even Evans, writes about how the Shah granted special immunity to US officials, which is part of what helped spark the revolution. Yes, if Russia trains Cuba's police we can assume Cuba will be forced to serve Russian interests, that's just the history of the world. Carter is simply trying to see what the other side has to say. As long as there is an Israeli occupation, groups like Hamas and people like Arafat will continue to exist. This is all basic history.

Uh...no. Read Stephen Kinzer's "All The Shah's Men" where he shows the entire history of the coup. It took quite a while to plan, August 15 and 17 is when they actually carried out the plan. After the coup the US owned 40% of Iran's oil wealth and the Shah was put back on his throne. Yes, the imperial British were involved too, in fact, they were the ones who asked the CIA to help them overthrow Mossadegh. Read Kinzer's book, it's also all documented in the CIA's archives.

The King's constitutional duty is ceremonial as it is the case in any constitutional monarchy, otherwise it is called a dictatorship monarchy where the Shah and government are two sides of the same coin, as was the case after 1953 CIA led coup! That agreement was the direct consequence of the coup! That 40% share for U.S. companies was imposed on Iran!

The Shah left Iran for few days in August 1952 because Mosadegh disobayed the Kings decree to leave office.Iran's constitution of 1906 gave the Shah the right to appoint & dismiss Prime Ministers. Mosadegh was appointed by the Shah twice & no Prime Minister in Iran was ever elected. Educate UR self before making fool of UR self.

You cannot deny Mossadegh's popularity, especially in nationalizing the oil which the Shah had been happily handing over to the British. In fact, the Shah's own father was another puppet installed by England to serve their interests as documented in every serious work on Iran, even by those who hate the current regime. And the Shah was king, but he wasn't reigning much of anything during Mossadegh's time, he was in Rome living a playboy lifestyle.

I attended a Jewish-Christian meeting on Long Island in 1978 where Mike Evanswas ministering.
