It's a good thing Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald never had to prove that former CIA agent Valerie Plame was "covert" or not before she outed herself with a full-page photo spread in Vanity Fair.
Plame, nor Waxman, nor Hayden or anyone else has been able to show that by law Plame was a covert agent on July 14, 2003.
Fitzgerald was never able to prosecute anyone under the law Toensing helped write and Plame and her Democrat allies continue to exploit.
palmerblade, excuse me.. Case is not closed because you say so. Again, you are dead wrong. Toensing was proven wrong in her testimony. Prey tell then explain why Libby was indicted on obstruction of justice, two counts of perjury and two counts of making false statements. If this was such a non case as you allude, why did he commit these offenses?
Where was Libby prosecuted for breaking the LAW Toensing wrote? He wasn't. He was prosecuted for the exact same BS crime Bill Clinton was. A Process crime.
palmerblade this whole thing was a travesty by Bush apppointed judges, Walton and Bates. The argument you attempted to make was Plame was not a CIA operative. She was! Libby was promised a get out of jail card by Bush, and got it. If he had nothing to hide and no one to protect, why the perjury, lying and obstruction of justice charges?? Watch all this crap come to a head with a new administration. Sorry dream on, case not closed!
Obviously you can't read. Plame was NOT a covert agent at the time of the supposed outing. No one was ever convicted of that.
Covert at one time? Maybe. Not then.
High-ranking Justice Department officials are prohibited from political activity, the CIA had no problem permitting its deep cover or classified employee from making political contributions under the name "Wilson, Valerie E.," information publicly available at the Federal Elections Commission.
palmerblade I am sick of your smart ass conscending comments. Valarie Plame was in fact as CIA operative. It is you who cannot read. She maintained five identites and was covert. She had teams outside of the U.S. who were exposed at the time as well, fact!! Toensing was not credible. This was a partisan cover up from top to bottom so quit with your continual debate. I am through with yours! If you get away from GOP-TV you might learn some real facts. Get lost!
palmerblade Get lost. You do not win. You are an egotist along with the rest of the right wing. And please do not tell me not to get upset when you have been raving on with everyone here. As I said, go away!
CIA incompetence did not end there. When Mr. Novak called the agency to verify Ms. Plame's employment, it not only did so, but failed to go beyond the perfunctory request not to publish. Every experienced Washington journalist knows that when the CIA really does not want something public, there are serious requests from the top, usually the director. Only the press office talked to Mr. Novak. VICTORIA TOENSING-Wall St Journal Sunday, November 6, 2005
When will Karl Rove be tried for treason. No matter who wrote what about what the fact remains Rove and Co. committed high treason and should face the consequences.
fleu66 I'm with you. If nothing else he ought to be in prison along with his other partners-in-crime, Bush and Cheney. If there's a hanging for those three I want a front row seat. Their little oil mis-adventure cost us dearly.
Democrats Run Congress. If he committed Treason- where are the charges? Maybe because there are none. Treason to you is just being defeated in 2 Pres elections. Rove's arrogance DID give you 2006. So stop whining.
If you believe in treason charges regarding plame - Armitage is the man- he admitted to it. BUT, since she wasn't a covert identity, there will be nothing.
palmerblade More of your neocon BS! Plame was in fact a covert. When overseas Plame traveled undercover. Plame was a covert CIA employee for who the CIA was taking affirmative measures to conceal her intelligence relationship to the United States. As she stated in the hearings she did NOT suggest Wilsons trip to Niger. As stated by McClellan, Bush admitted to the go ahead for the leak! Armitage's conduct does not change the facts of what Bush, Libby, Cheney and Rove did in the chain of command.
LOL so you disagree with the BiPartisan Senate intelligence committee? Under OATH.

palmerblad WRONG! At the time of the initial unauthorized disclosure in the media of Ms. Wilson's aka Plame's employment relationship with the CIA on 14 July 2003, she was a covert CIA employee for whom the CIA was taking affirmative measures to conceal her intelligence relationship to the United States. Describing the unclassified CIA document, Toensing falsely suggested it asserted that Plame was simply "qualified to be covert" It is proven Toensing distorted the facts. Do your research!
palmerblade You are very quick to do the name calling thing to people who disagree with you. Wherever you are getting 'facts' you are only getting parts, and interpreting them wrong. This comment has received too many negative votes show
JakiiRSM: you want to compare Gumbel to Olbermann? Lol, Olbermann's show has been in the tubes for years - NO ONE WATCHES HIM. Gumbel is going on legend. Who's narow minded? Typical liberal, I'm smarter than you on my WORST day.

moveondotorgg I was responding to your comment, "Yeah and Olbermann used to be a sports reporter" implying his political commentaries mean nothing. I said in response, Brian Gumble wasn't always a sports reporter either, so what? I was attempting to make a point you so obviously missed. What you left out is no one watches Olbermann who watches FOX. I am very worried about my intelligence now if you are smarter than me, as you say. LOL LOL
