No - it's been known for 40 years but he's been very difficult to get rid of. It started off slowly and it was hard to notice how bad it was really getting until he was so entrenched he was almost impossible to get rid of. Until now.

@Juicexlx Fox news north was spawned from a meeting of Harper, Murdoch and Ailes. Canada is already in trouble though, media wise. While Israel Asper's little CanWest/National Post empire has been split up the TV assets have merely been merged into Shaw and the National Post (which Conrad Black started to counter "liberal bias" as they say) is actually a stable of about 40 newspapers. And the last election shows that there are plenty of people who would buy Murdochian reportage.

Nobody is forgetting the ''Commandites scandal'' that happened, so there's a political component attached to the last election. But yes, CBC/RadioCan is getting more and more empty! Today I followed the Twitter #hackgate and RadioCan wasn't reporting anything AT ALL.... That's disturbing as Hell. I now follow 5 News decks in 2 languages to get the news I want. We're screwed! : (

Murdoch US News Corp phone hack scandal has probably affected other parts of their media operation outside the UK. The MET police are also corrupt they have been sitting on these phone hacked documents since 2006. Out of 4000 people listed only 170 had been contacted.
