  • Davis-Monthan AFB?

  • i have a technical question, with the space shuttle on the top of the 747, how does the pilot use the rudder? i mean doesnt the Shuttle produce drag to the vertical stabilizer? i guess the 2 extra stabilizers on the horizontal one have to do with something?

  • why doesnt Nasa upgrade the 747-123 to the newer 747-400. It has more range on less fuel plus its capable of carrying heavier loads, in this case, the Space Shuttle

  • Because budgetting, plus since the shuttle program is ending soon, there's no point.

  • 1. waste of tax money

    2. cheaper to kill the environment than buy new/used -400

    3. range not needed as travels mainly in US

    4. this thing is more than capable of carrying the space shuttle. carrying heavier load not needed.

    5. buying new/used -400 means they have to heavily modify that too.

Basically its all cheaper to just keep the 92' civic than buy a new 09' version when your only driving it around once a month.

  • @simpsonstewie say that when you get a smaller aircraft and it crashes in your backyard

  • the 741?

  • yes, look at the upper deck windows. There are far less on the 747-100 than the -200.
