  • Gene's voice was unique

  • gene pitney got better with age

  • Still finding it hard to accept that Gene has gone.

  • and then Gene lets loose and we remember who's song this is.

  • I love this version and Gene's solo version. marc has a wonderful voice but pitney's voice is one of a kind.

  • Another song I couldnt download. My mum only ever loved this version but sadly she had to do with the solo version that one of them done. Never sounded as good. Now i find this one, and its too late for her to hear it...

R.I.P mum. This song will always remind me of the fun we had, you singing this song to me, and tickling me at the chorus's

  • Gene Pitney R.I.P!!!!!!

  • I like the original version of gene pitney so much better!!!

  • try the malaysian version, search in youtube

    tak sanggup-X factor

  • The chemical reaction just works. The blending of Marc and Gene.

  • I really like Gene's voice in this newer version more the older one.

  • ideal KILLANDY572

  • DAMN ,,, my boss seen his last perfomance in cardiff hrs b4 he died,, what a voice what a performer! rip gene ur legend

  • Gene Pitney is pure magic..the words are so great and he really could sing..an absolute elgend!

  • I thought he'd retired and moved to France and became sort of a recluse. How wrong am I?

  • this is high romance pure and simple. the lyrics are poetic and compelling. love it.

  • Wow... there's a bit too much echo on this song, but it's fantastic!

I'm singing this in my chorus (Brighton Gay Mens Chorus) and it's sounds fantastic. Love singing this song!

  • my mother loved this god rest her sole xx

  • What a great voices:)

  • Heard it once, and now I LOVE it!!

  • Never mind anything about the way he lived his life but as far as in a recording studio Phil Spector was a genius, and anyone who says different does not know his ass from a hole in the wall.

  • @SigiJoe Well, he was a lunatic, but he had an ear for music, Old Phil! Shame about his circumstances, but we all know what he gave to music!

  • panemorfo kommati...

  • My mom and dad always played this song among with other older songs when I was younger(they still do it), and I absolutely love it. :) Didn't know that the song was named 'Something's got a hold of my heart' until I searched on google on a part of the lyrics I remember very well; "Something's gotten hold of my hand, dragging my soul to a beautiful land" And I finally found it! :D

  • simplemente impresionante, gracias por el video..

  • Can you hear also the famous, "Phil Specter Wall of Sound" in this song? It does sound like a Specter production from back in the early 60s.

  • Phil Spector a joke. The only thing that got him into a studio was his enthnic background.

  • one of the best iv ever heard.just love the duet of these two great singers.love it...the lyrics, the melody, everything about this song...fab.

  • absolutely brilliant, never heard this before, but it's brilliant

  • The man's voice never changed!!

He and Roy Orbison are the two souls on earth that can claim this amazing ability

  • add a lady, Judy Garland

  • class no other word but class

  • That powerful voice was real --heard 1974

  • What a sweet song- I love how Gene Pitney bops around in this it is really funny and so very '80's, what a dude

  • Christ on crutches! The best. Period. (.)

  • nicely put

  • This song is so beautiful! Great voices! Are they in las vegas in this video?

  • i love this song

  • TOP PLAAT !!!!!!!!

  • never got the credit it deserved

  • Gene Pitney was underrated. He never had a #1 hit but lots of secondary hits. So many of the old masters are no longer here and no one person or group are worthy of sweeping the street where he trod. He never changed in looks but a few pounds and grey hair which could have easity removed. I mean if you saw him 40 years ago you'd have no problem identifying him. The 60s were a turbulent time for me and I didn't get to enjoy life like most other people.

  • Rest in peace, Gene. I saw Mr. Pitney at Carnegie Hall - a true talent and a class act.

  • 1989

  • stop comparing the voices and appreciate how magically they blend together
