  • cute but way too much work for me

  • Comment removed

  • Hair looks great!! Thanks for the braid out tip. Do you have any videos on the styles worn with your mini twists?

  • I'm curious about the take down method myself...

  • They look great!...how are they to take down without getting tangled.

  • thnxs so much! i was dreading having to do mini twists on my almost-bra-strap-length hair

but you gave me a great tip on how to ease the process.

    thnxs again

  • Is a 2 1/2 year old too young to do this with? and how do i go about taking them out later on with out completely tangling her hair up? Please help a white mom out here! My daughter is bi-racial and has very thick hair with tight curls and im looking to do something different with it.

  • Thank you sooo much for this video!

  • I am glad I watched this before trying my mini twist because I was going to do it the same way as Naptural85 but I think doing the braid out will be better...THANKS!

  • That bun was too cute!

  • Great idea.

  • @ThinkandGrowChick darn bc i have thin hair

  • when removing mini twist ... do ihave to unravel them one by one or can i put some conditioner and comb them out?

  • @Stephster90 Definitely do not comb them out, that will cause unbelievable tangling. But do put conditioner, oil, or even water on them if it makes them easier to unravel. I *always* unravel them one by one, but depending on how dry they are I may or may not add something like conditioner or oil in oder to make the take down process easier.

  • I really want to try this technique, but I just need to know...how many braids did you start with initially? Thanks for the tutorial!

  • @ksnewsome09 I think I started with around 30 or so braids.

  • @ThinkandGrowChick Ok thanks so much!

  • Where did you start on th natural transition. Like what did you do first. Thanks

  • @madisoneli33 I "went natural" about 8 years ago via a 1 1/2 year transition. The very first thing I did, not to sound facetious, was *stop getting relaxers*. I continued to straighten my hair, pressing the roots as they grew out for about 6 months. When I had equal amounts of natural and relaxed hair, I started to wear my hair in roller-sets and braid-out styles. If you go to bglh (dot) com and search for "courtney thinkandgrowchick" you can read my entire transition story. HTH!

  • Did it take you a long time to take your hair down .

  • @meishabell54 Last time I did this, it took me a few hours (maybe 3?) to take them all down, but I did it leisurely while watching TV, lounging around the house, etc.

  • I'm definitely doing this style this weekend

  • this is a great idea girl!! i am going to try it for the first time this upcoming week! ican not wait!

  • What camera did you use?

  • @facehappie Nikon Coolpix L110

  • I see what you did .

  • I tried your technique for "small twists". I only split each tendril into 2( I had 26 braids, 78tendrils and now have 156 twists, exactly. It was a breeze compared to my usual losing clips, missing tiny curls etc. Thanks!

  • I must say you made this

    easy peasy, so thank you!

  • great idea with the braidout and the tendrils girl!!

  • Wow! I'm so glad i came across your video. i'm thinking about trying mini twists for the first time and this method will be great for me! Thanks!

  • Very cool idea. Thanks for sharing!

  • I love this idea. I have yarn braids in right now and I am wanting to do another protective style and I've done mini twists in the past. Before the time drove me crazy! Thanks!

  • Love this method! I just did for the 1st time them on brow dried hair and they are too stiff so Im going to try your method to the tee next time.

  • your so pretty!

  • are mini twists good for showing the true length of your hair?

  • @theGLAMlife01 Absolutely! Mini twists are the "crème de la crème" way to see how long your hair has gotten if you do not wish to straighten or otherwise use heat.

  • I soooooo wish I would have seen this BEFORE I started my twists!! Thank You sooo much!!!

  • Excellent Video...

    Thanks for all this information.

I will be trying this method soon :-))

  • Wonderful job, will definitely try doing them this way next weekend when I start my protective styles challenge from Nov. 1 - Dec. 31. This was right on time, thank you and Be Blessed and I'll keep you posted on how it turns out!

  • gosh im sure it come out great.. but i would have fell asleep

  • Does this work on Caucasian hair?

  • @MsYoungmoney2 I think one's ethnicity is not as important as is the texture of one's hair. If a caucasian person has very tightly curled, coarser hair then this style might be something worth trying. The more loosely-curled and finer one's hair is, however, then the more the twists are likely to unravel or "slip out". This principle hold regardless of one's heritage. HTH!

  • Beautiful hairstyle !!! Very informative

  • Thanks so much for this tutorial. I was planning to do nap85s method, so I really appreciate your ideas. This will be my 1st time doing it. Here's hoping that all goes well.

  • New subbie. I am loving your vids

  • Thank you...lol...this should make my twisting alot easier

  • I have to try this

  • this is exactly how i did my hair.....b4 watching this video....GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE except that i finished in one day

  • this is exactly how i did my hair.....b4 watching this video....GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE

  • @auditab I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought of this then. I randomly started doing this one day when twisting my hair in big loose sections got to be too daunting. Yes great minds think alike!

  • 7minutes??? Oh dear :(.

  • @potterylady1 Put on some great music, grab some tea and make an experience out of it. The time will pass more quickly :-)

  • This video is the one I have been looking for. I can't seem to get it. Your method is awesome. Each twist can't help but be close to equal side and I can't possibly get tired and "go big" to finish and get different size braids. Do all the math you want u made it "click"! thanx!

  • Thank you, Thank you, Thank I have my mini twists on now and it is all thanks to you. It has finally worked.

  • I don't have patience for this.

  • Girl you are a genius...I have been wanting to do mini-twist but didn't want to do are the fuss of parting my hair and sectioning. I am most definitely going to do it now. Very smart. Love how you broke this down. I am subscribing right now. :)

  • genius!!!!!!

  • Hey think and grow, where are you I enjoy your channel but you haven't posted anything for a while. Thanks

  • WHOA! Lots of math or well more like counting! Anyways.......how many braids do you start off with initially?

  • Great video!

  • OMG this is awesome!! I'm going to try this method :)

  • You and Naptural85 hv the best mini twist tutorials on the Tube that i've found. Peace*Love*Smiles

  • @SistaJMoe i agree and i would add Summyr1988 to that list also.

  • YOUR TWISTS LOOK GREAT! I GOTTA TRY THIS THANKS

  • Great video!

  • hats off to u queen that takes too much time....lol....thanks for sharing.....

  • Very nice, now what happens when it's time to take out?

  • amazingly helpful video! At first I was really scared about doing mini twists but I'll definitely try this method now. Thanks a lot! =]

  • So I saw this and starting doing my mini twists on Monday! I was so excited. This is a great method, but I was a fool in thinking that I didn't have to detangle my hair fully or part it properly. I ended up having to undo other plaits from surrounding areas, just to get hair for my mini twists... So next time I'll certainly detangle properly first!

  • Thank you for this method. I have done mini twists in the past, but they used to take me all day. Today, I put mini twists in my 10 year old's head (in lieu or extensions) in about 3.5 hours. A FULL HEAD of mini twists on 14 inch hair in 3.5 hours. I am so happy. Now if only the take down could be so easy.

  • @rasuocd Prettydimplez had a video on the takedown. I think all she used was conditioner and it combed right out like magic! Check out her channel for it. =]

  • Great idea! I will try this next time.

  • yuP, this vid was really helpful and smart. lol Thank you. I may try this once I do my mini twists. :-)

  • smart...

  • This'll give me a few days to complete if I need it.

  • This was super helpful! Thx

  • How long do you leave the twist in? What is your routine while they are in? (do you wash them while they are in, mositurize them ....etc?)

  • I love this video!!! I have always shyed away from mini-twist b/c the process seemed like to would drive me crazy....however you method is awesome....now I can't wait to try it!!!!!

  • I think that is EXACTLY what I am going to do with my hair. It looks absolutley adorable and your method is greatly appreciated! I think i'll film myself doing them then post it as a video response, that is if I don't go crazy first! LOL LOL

  • Great tutorial... "Patience is a virtue!" I'm 7 months into my transition and I look forward to mini-twists after these two textures become one :)

  • Utterly brilliant. No stress. Also, this is a lesson in fractals, i think.

  • @AfreensHair Haha, yes, I perhaps went a bit overboard with the fractions lesson...I just wanted to make sure everyone understood what I was doing!

  • You are one brave chica!!! When I saw that you were going to create NINE twist from one braid all I could say was wow!! I will be doing this method for my August twist but I think I'll do three per braid, to save my sanity! thanks for the vid very helpful

  • i love your method i just unlovked my sons dreads and i have been looking for a way for him to wear his hair and this works out great for him thank you fdor posting this video

  • Love your technique...trying it on my eight year old as of right now.. Can't wait till I get a little length.. Just B/C'd April 28th. Rocking my T W A. Thanks for your time and effort really appreciate it. Keep them coming.

  • Can you do another video on how to TAKE DOWN mini-twists (without driving yourself crazy)?

  • @kristenjdec I'm definitely still working on perfecting *that* art ;-) Naptural85 has a good video showing her take-down process if you want to check it out.

  • Great video...thanks for sharing!

  • This is great! I can't wait til my hair gets long enough to do this! ! !

  • Love this! I will probably try it this weekend! Thanks for the info! :)

  • Thank you, I plan to try mini twisting my hair again next weekend. I am definitely going to try this method.

  • I absolutely LOOOVVEEEEE this!!!!! And its looks great on you, you're very pretty! Thanks!

  • Very pretty. I love the idea of hiding the braids that were not twisted. Great style esp for the Summer or all year long. :)

  • This is a very helpful video sis! Thanks for sharing!

  • sooo clever! I was thinking about getting them put in professionally because I didn't think I'd have the patience to do it myself. but now I might try after seeing this new method. awesome :)

p.s-love the music in the video

  • Very cute

  • Great method for doing mini twist outs! May have to try this : )

  • What if you hair is short and thicker? Should we do more mini twist out of one tendril

  • love love love :)

  • THANKYOU! haha! soooo glad you've put this on!! <3

  • Awesome! Maybe I'll give min-twists a try again using this method. What really drives me nuts though is taking them out!

  • Love this method! Makes me think that I too could do this myself.

  • I like this technique!

  • I use this method (but not with a precise amount of twists per braid), but i usually do it all at once, starting from the back so that the front is fresh when i am done

  • Nice vid. and technique for managing the instilation of mini twist. Thanks for sharing.

  • LOVE THIS! Thanks for sharing! :)

  • I love Naptural85! She makes life so simple!LOL

  • Great Vid! So helpful!

  • Awwww HEY SIS!! Missed You much! You look GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanx for sharing!

  • GREAT idea. Thanks!

  • Wonderful video, I guess I missed the vid Naptural85 did on how to use this method. Anyway, just subbed!!

  • That has got to be a PAIN taking out. I did small twists last week--not mini ones- and they gave me CRAZY tangles at the ends so I can imagine what mini ones would do! I wish I could do minis, but I would be asking for toruble. Great video, though!

  • Great method! I will have to try this. Thanks!

  • Great method, I haven't tried mini twist yet since my hair is short with 75% shrinkage, but I may try it, great video!

  • LOVE!

  • very smart! i like this!

  • About how many braids do you think you used?

  • Love this...I'm about to install some mini-twists, and I definitely needed an organized method to do so...thanks!

  • This was super cute, thanks for sharing

  • so how long do your twists last? how do you maintain them? do you wash often or wet often? how keep them stretched? thnks

  • Why do I like the word Tendril!..lol

  • Great technique thanks for sharing!

  • Nice results. Def going to try. Thanks so much 4 sharing.

  • Is there a easy way to take them out? I would love to do this style, but it seem the take down will be murderess if thats a word. lol

    Excellent technique.

  • @jackiecan04 I was thinking the exact same thing!! Great technique.

  • How long have you used this method for mini twist? How long does it take to get them out? If you have a genius method for getting them out please post that.

  • Girl you are a genius!!!!

  • Very smart!

  • great idea thanks for posting

  • They turned out fabulous! Shout out to you and Naptural85 for my continuous summer look!

  • Loves it! :D

  • Great method! Love it! And thanks so much for the shout out! <3 <3

  • thank God cuz right now i have mini twists but they look a hot mess but i'll do it like this the next time

  • goood idea! now I don't dread doing it, I'll try this next time I do mini twists. :-)

  • So smart!

  • How do you take them out easily, w/ minimum breakage?

  • This is a really good idea. I like that you can adjust the size of the twists, like say you don't want them as small, just don't split the hair as much. Cool :)

  • Great technique!! So helpful!

  • this is the most helpful mini twist video ive seen

  • very nice!

  • really cute!!!!!!

  • awsum method! cute hair chica

  • very helpful! i've been wanting to do mini twists again, and I will definitely try this method. great tutorial!

  • Your method is genius. Love it!!!

  • Such an entertaining video (on a subject that's, let's face it, rather bland)! This is a good way of keeping even sections for anything (braids, twists or coils). The big braids themselves looked good on you also. Thumbs up!

  • this was a very good video and I really enjoyed watching it. you should do more vids though i know you are busy.

  • And this is why I love your videos. :)

  • great method! i tried mini twists last summer and it took forever! this method gives me hope. thank you!

  • looks great :D

  • This method is genius! I may just try mini twists in the future because of this vid. Thanks!

  • do u find that the part that colored is thinner the roots? i need help with that

  • Awesome technique. Thanks for sharing!

  • Very cute! Same process I use. My hair isn't as long so I HAVE TO FINISH in a couple of days...no bun for me. Nice vid!

  • Glad to see you back making videos! That is a great way of doing mini twists. Thanks for sharing
