the output isn't too surprising. The 8 valve HD factory bikes set the flat track record of ~120 mph in the late twenties, a mark that stood for decades.
@jcthawaii You make some good points. I like anything with an internal combustion engine and thats why I watched this video. The "not a Harley fan" comment comes from riding everything in their range from sportster to electra glide and finding the handling and the performance lacking. By that I mean I am not rushing out to buy one, not that I cant appreciate workmanship, and time spent on this bike. Clearly this bike has been fettled and is making great power as well as sounding very cool.
I have no idea how a Dyno works, but how does the computer know what the RPMs were on a bike from 1928? Also, it's amazing this old bike got almost 70HP. Don't brand new Harley big twins have about that? Sheesh.
the dyno picks up the rpm from one of the spark plug wires, this '28 harley has 4 valves per cylinder also which helps with the power. for comparison my '07 1200 sportster is 74hp but only has 2 valves per cylinder.
Americans have never really given a shit about antique motosickles until the Europeans, mostly "German jew burners",came over and scarffed then all up. And drove up the prices. My hats to yall! The Europeans ride them and Americans trailor queen them and put them in museum prisons. Yall have always been 10 years ahead of us on motosickles! My best friend is a hard core German biker. He rides a 75 stupid-glide chopper with a boat trailor tail light!Harleysons MC rules! I rode in Germany 1982!
I think you are gravely mistaken...There are so many americans that love to keep a legend alive by Owning and riding classic harleys...myself being one...
1932 model b and its not really road worthy just yet. 2007 suzuki drz supermoto. an old shovle head is what im looking for right now. along with an old flat track bike would be great also. what do you ride.
Now, stop riding her so hard. Be gentle with her.
German engineering, American engineering? Isn't this German American engineering.

YES Buddies, that`s the truth. You need a GERMAN tuner to make a piece of american history running really strong, yehaaa !!!
Just take out your hidden pieces of history, take some cash and bring them back on the track.
