being a fan of the parent show (sg1) and stargate infinity and stargate atlantis i cannot believe so many people are maoning about her not returning to the show. the writers offered her the role but her ego wouldnt let her play a smaller role. she wasn't really in the show that much apart from the first season and every other episode she was there for a few minutes, her character was just that simple, the real stars were Dr. Mckay's character, Sheppard Ronan Etc. those who brought a laugh to it.

So George Hammond could also be compared the same to Elizabeth Weir, he was not in the episodes for long and always was left behind to command, and yet people loved him and after he left it was never the same. It was Torri Higgins personality we liked about and she brought something to her character that cant be said. They never took chances with her and same can be said for others on Atlantis.

And who could not blame her for not wanting to return, she was signed on for 5 years and then they cut her the end of her 3rd year to return in 3 episodes in the 4th season. The episode where she was left in the replicator city was her best work on the show. This is all a matter of option and no one side can say they are right.

hammond was a part of sg1 because he was used alot within mnay of the storylines. torri had no personality she done the same emotions in each episode thus she is dull i was heappy when she left so that someone else could take her place.

the richard character is far better with his acting and can pull off a punch line better than she could dream.

Well when Torri left thats when rattings droped and then with in 2 seasons the show was canceled, and higher numbers was a factor on why they decided to go to movies and not comtinue on TV.

It wasn't ego, she just decided that it was time for the Weir character to die. She obviously didn't like the direction Malozi was originally taking with the Weir character. She felt the fans should have closure.

She was brilliant, and I thought it was terrible that they brought back her character with a different actor—no disrespect to Michelle Morgan, who did a fine job. I'm sorry Atlantis was cancelled, but it was never the same without her.

I COMPLETELY agree with you. She was one of the greatest characters, like Carson, who made the show what it was. Now that Carter and Woolsey are here, it doesn't feel the same. ;_;

I totally agree that it was a serious mistake to get rid of Torri. The show is no where near the same without her, and now Carter's out and Woolsey is in? I want Weir back, but it's not going to happen, unfortunately. :(

hm i think torri got a new role, remember at the end of Be all sins remembered? what was that all about... maybe she is the new replicator leader?

she is not with the show, in season 5 they wanted her to comback for i beleieve 1 episode for the replicator role, but she said no. She was soposed to have a 5 or 6 year ontract and they broke it, she was in 4 episodes in season 4 and then they wanted 1 for season 5, that dose not sound fair if you ask me.

I partially agree with you, carter is great, but not as a leader.

But in all honesty torri had quite a boring character, if she came back as a part replicator it would be cooler.

They honestly are having severe trouble with getting a stable cast on Atlantis. They've gotten rid of Ford, Carson, Elizabeth, and now Carter. I can't understand what they were thinking bringing Woolsey to Atlantis. He is not going to fit it, at all..

yeah it did, i mean i liek sam, she could of ben a cool addition to the show, but not the leader. Think back to SG1 when it was sam, til'k and danile, she did not lead well. i do have to say tayla, i hope i spelled that right, she really shined this season which im glad beause she was always keeped in the background.

I agree with you but I also think that she did the right thing by not going back. She read the script and it obviously wasn't up to scratch and I would rather her not come back at all than come back to a less than good episode.

I would love to see Torri back on Atlantis, I adore her and Elizabeth is my fav character, but only if the script is right. If the ep is rubbish what's the point of her being there

Elizabeth WAS Atlantis. It's just devoid of it's essence without her. But if they treated me like they had treated Torri, I sure as hell wouldn't come back either. It's a great shame though, cuz Eli was an extraordinarily amazing character and Torri portrayed her beautifully. Awz, it's their loss for letting her go...the sad part is that we get to lose her to and no one gave us a say:(.

I know so many people who stopped watching when she left, like me. It just didn't appeal to me with Carter as the leader; she doesn't fit in that role. I hope that Torri comes back for the sake of her fans, there were so many petitions trying to keep her as a regular, we should start some for her to come back. That would show the producers!!

I totally agree. I stopped watching after Torri Higginson got kicked off. She was one of my favorite characters and it suprized me because her character, to me, was among one of the strongest on the show. Her acting was great as well.

I'd probably start watching again if they brought her back, but I really wouldn't blame her if she didn't sign on for another appearance after they cut her off like that.

dono where u stoped watching but she is in an episode where they kill the replicaotrs ( sorry for spoil lol what are you gona do bout it ) but she is in it and probobly is comming back , they know they made a mistace killing her.

I totally agree with you about Torri Higginson. I was really looking forward to seeing where the Replicator Weir story went. I heard there was some animosity between her and the producers

I heard that, she signed a contract for i think 5 years and then in there 4th season they said she wont be a reguler chareter. they said that they were fair about it because most people dont know that there chareters wont return till the new season begins to shoot on most shows, but i think its stil shady, i really likerd her a lot.

I feel the exact way! I miss Torri so much! She was amazing. I love Amanda, but I've always seen as the 2IC not that of a Commander. Torri/Elizabeth IMO was the perfect fit for the job. I wish Torri would come back, but I'm still planning on supporting her in all of her movies and shows.

Just letting u know, I feel the exact same way. I love Amanda Tapping, but I just feel that Torri was a better fit. I respect her decision to not return, but I am still disappointed.  I am still huge fan and will continue to follow her career. I too hope she will re-consider and come back for a few episodes. I am right along with you, and think that many of her true fans feel the same way. I hope this will lead to more comments, I know what it's like to post a vid and not get any comms.
