I have never seen something like this in Sweden (distance between stage and crowd). I think Germany also use to have the crowd closer. Just watch any Rock Am Ring show.

@toomanysneakers I think it's because of the number of people, With this length from the stage, they wont have to worry as much over people pushing those infront to try and reach the singers. Alot of people have died that way. From the pressure of 10000 people pushing you.

@flyawayhome3 I guess because he thinks that it sounds better to have some American touch in the accent or that it is more "suitable" for their music. He definitely doesn't have a pure American accent. But yes, he seems to tryi to get rid a little of the British accent.

Normally when he talks, like in interviews, it definitely sounds British. When he says "incredible" in the end here it sounds British as well.

If you don't think that is wrong, for example a Swedish band that tries to sing in American English - why wouldn't it be okay that a Welsh band tries to sound American? :) That's my opinion, but I definitely see your point.
