  • what a beautiful song...love it!!! thanks

  • what can I say? Such beauty, melody, expression, sweetness, sense of rythym, love and dedication to craft. Still possible in this day and age? Yes! Get back Hasrat Jaipuri, Shankar Jaikishan, Rafi and Lata. Easy?

  • @lihsusinatmas --- No, this song was written by Shailendra.

  • A melodious song....Full of love ...Rich in music...Pure magic of Shankar Jaikishan.....Wonderful acting of The Great Legend Shammi Kapoor & Mala Sinha......Makes this song Evergreen...You love to listen it again & again.........( Hemant Sharma.)

  • Hats off to you Rafi . awesome Shammi

  • shammi was a great entertainer but he over did it with his diet@legacy he aged so much during 67,to 77,he would of been with us still another 20years but i guess the kapoor buzz got the best of him, meaning they were very popular family name in the industry etc,but the kapoors do have thier heads in thier asses even though thier new genaration are a bunch of twats, but much cred goes to the greats of thier time not the twats of the last 20years

  • wonderfull god i love this reminds of the old days

  • Put Rafi, SJ and Shammi K on one side of a scale and put the rest of indian cinema on the other. This trio will outweigh them all. Together, they have brought to us the best era in Indian cinema. Its a pity that we cannot buy time back. Time kills us all.....dead.

  • Shammi Kapoor you were the BEST !!! Rest in Peace RIP

  • The more i hear this kind of songs the more i hate current bollywood.

Great music yet again by Shankar Jaikishan

Exeptional lyrics by Shailendra not Hasrat Jaipuri

Mohabbat ne teri mujko kuch is tarah se ghera

Din ko hain tere charche raaton ko khwab tera

The only reason Hollywood is considered more superior in terms of music than bollywood is because we are trying to copy there western style music but making it much worse with songs like munni badnaam hui.

  • @best1212121 If we didnt copy their music and sticked to our classical routes USA today would have been trying to copy our way of music. Oh god could this Era ever come back? Its highly unlikely because to get shammi kapoor you need Mohd rafi to get mohd rafi you need Shankar Jaikishan and panchamda which i think is highly unlikely

  • wow Rafi you are great, Shammi you are awesome...superb

  • Will Really Miss U Shammiji!! Nobody will ever Replace you!! You'l always be in your hearts!!

  • Will miss U rest in Peace shimmiji

  • Rest in Peace shammiji

  • lovely song

  • Takes me back to my youth!! Nice feeling.

  • vdo clarity sucks!!

  • 7 ppl r tasteless!!..

  • Are, sare ke sare nadano !

Ye mahan Sangeetkar-jodi `Shankar-Jaikishan' ka music hai pyaro !

Music dekho aur music ki dhar dekho.

Shankar Jaikishan ke 90% geeton mein yehi Jadoo hai ?

Kabhi suna hai tum logon ne ??

    -Pawan

  • Mohd Rafi saab the voice of God

  • Tears do not stop when I hear this song, it is too emotional, it brings total memories back, all these people are gone, unfortunately I am left here, may be one day we will meet again, those wonderful people.

    sam

  • This is not only a song. It represents the expression of a couple in love. At the time it was made it represented the feelings of all of us who fell in love with someone but was unable to meet and express. There was no mobile phones etc. Just the song was enough. That's why it means so much to me and people of that generation.

  • i like very much this song.mala sinha is very beautiful actors. in this songh wording so clear and beautiful.i listen every day songh

  • I wonder if all of the Bollywood come together to come up with a song of this quality.. the wordings, the voice of Rafi Saab, the music.. I bet they can't. It is so comercialized today that the life of talent is disappeared. If I read how these great talents like Rafi, Dharmendra, Naushad, Dilip kumar reached the film industry makes me feel that they put their life in it, thats why we always like it.

  • masyaALLAH im crying when hear this song.......its very touching

  • LOVELY, greetings from Lechería, Venezuela.

  • such beautiful words! thumbs up if you would fall in love if someone said these words to you!

  • Rafi Saab was and still is the best singer in the world. Old is really gold! Nowadays, the music wants you to pull all your hair out, no soul anymore in them. Whoever does not listen to old songs don't know what they are missing.

  • OLD IS GOLD AND GOLD NEVER FADES. i dedicate dis song 2 my husband.

  • this song is one of my favourites shivers run down my spine when i listen to this song. thanks you tube. this is fabulous

  • Unable to forget the days n time when all the actors and actress did their part n talent which brought Hindi movies to its peak...and till today they are remembered..not forgetting the one n only singer late Mohd Rafi who voice really pierced the heart of every Hindi film viewers.....n listeners.

  • In one of the functions recently, which took place in Bombay where Rafi Sahab's academy is launched, Shammi ji said that he would have been nothing without Rafi saab's voice. That's a great comment by a great actor. So down to earth personality.

  • Lovely song....Evergreen music

  • ohhh my god what a beuitiful song all time favorite

  • oops, where gone those golden days when such sweet & melodeous songs were composed? We are cursed to listen these present ugly songs.

  • Mohammad Rafi has sung for many actors, the most popular being Dev Anand, Dilip Kumar, Rajendra Kumar, Shammi Kapoor, Dharmendra, Sunil Dutt, Raaj Kumar,Shashi Kapoor, Biswajeet, Joy Mukherji and many others, including some for the great Raj Kapoor.

It will be unfair to mention for who he sang the best but most of the fans will probably agree that there was magic in the air when he sang for Shammi Kapoor.

  • Love Mala Sinha and shammi Kapoor. Love love love this song.

  • super duper musical hit from SJ brains..the violins, the saxophone, the rhythm, lyrics, all in one make this a great 1962 memorable.

prom122...the film was released in 1962 directed by BR Panthalu--MUSIC Shankar Jaikishan.

  • The vibration that emerges out of Rafi"s voice is so scintilatting that I feel I am lifted aloft to the skies to a different world altogether for I find none to match his voice and will be there none for many years.

  • i would love to dedicate this song to my future wife,,,,,Dharisha H........ so true

  • @kumar69

do it, what is stopping you.

  • What a super acting of Shammi Kapoor and Mala Sinha those were the Golden Years of Hindustani films.

Sadly today we have corrupt Khan KID or CHILD actors with ZERO talent who are made famous by stupid and ignorant young generation..

  • Shiri Shammi Kapoor acted for a very long time, he started his career in 1952 and ended it in 2006, thats 54 years, ofcourse from the 1970's onwards he only did strong characted actor roles

  • Super Hindustani film Old is Gold Song.

  • mwaaaah so nice..

  • How nice a coincidence? Talat gave way finding anew star in Rafi like Noorjehan for the great Latha. These two will live lonng in the hearts of music lovers as a whole.

  • My heart is bleeding when i hear this song. Where can we find another Rafi Saab? Such a divine voice. Love him so much. May his soul rest in peace. Thank you for sharing your most precious voice with us. Never will forget you.

  • I had seen this filmwhen iwas doing graduation, nearly fifty years are over but the fragnanse of the song is every green.

  • shammi should find himself lucky for this . dharam woulve made more impact as his screen presence would've done justice to the rendering of this sweet duet . Sunanda, sharat varma, chupps and gang, tanusri and the dutta gang,

kumar and hema, chandu, big freak are u here?

    go back to 1994 may

could anybody tell what raaga is this ?

  • Dharam was still playing second fiddle at the time this movie was made!!!!!!Shammi was top of the line.

  • I was born listening to Mohd Rafi, he is my Hero. Even I do not have the words that can describe this wonderful man.

Now, Rafi is not amongst us, but that divine voice and soul will never fade from this earth. He was, and remains, a major force in film music, the music of love, despair, hope, humoretc. Rafis voice had the healing capability. His music is as calm, as raging, as deep, as beautiful. It is the manifestation of the goodness and the divine. God Bless Him for ever. Ameen.

  • The golden era of great indian film music.

    miss it dearly.10x 4 post.

  • hi this is a good song i like this song

  • genius

  • The inimitable pair of Shammi Kapoor and Mala Sinha. Add to that the romantic lilt of Lata/Rafi set to tune by Shankar Jaikishen. Youthful romance can not get much better.

  • i really love old songs.....

  • full of soul and meaning...every word is well spoken....love old classic movie....

  • Great song !!! Agreed this days singers are no where near this GREAT SINGERS - Period.

  • I agree. No new singers are great as the classics. It is sad that music has gone down the pooper since this time era.

  • What a golden era of film music it was. What a rubbish these days. Today's film songs are An apology to music . SJ, OP, Nauahd , Salil Chitragupta, C Ram Chandra, Madan Mohan, SD Barnan, RD ,Sajjad, Khyyam , Ravi N Datta and many more!!! They all live in our hearts.

  • My dear the greatness of this song is the lyrics. Full kudos to the master SHAILENDRA the greatest ever

  • I agree it is the greatness of the lyrics that inspire the melody of the song. Romance is most beautiful when love is expressed for the first time and it turns out mutual. To capture that in poetry is God Gift. Having said that, I sincerely feel this song is written by Hasrat Jaipuri, this is 100% his style. Shailendra is a master of philosophical songs while Hasrat was the king of romance as far as Shanker Jaikishan's music was concerned.

  • NIce song, thank you

  • can some1 plzz translate the intro

  • My screen saver has HIS picture and underneath it says The Master. To actually write his name is just plain insult to the greatest singers the world had ever had. What a loss to the world. I still and will always enjoy his GEMS. Long live The Master. But alas todays bollywood is just churning out rubbish after rubbish and no one is complaining. But I am starting now: Bollywood sort yourself out nahin to Gabbar Singh aa jayega tum logon ko theek karne. Hoshiyaar.

  • i love old songs

    kash sab samajh pate

    just love it

    thnks for adding

  • ohh thanks for uploading this song.... was searching for it....

  • muje kitna pyar hai tumse, apne hi dil se pucho tum, jise dil dia hai bho tum ho....miss u h....

  • Thanks Dear for this great video.

  • my mind is always over there.Only one thinking is with me thats u, what ever it is it might be day it might be night. How much world has been change .i cants say, .because today some one is mine who wasnt mine yesterday. If some one love from inner side then obviously it will make positive colour in life. Thats why I was far before and now I came close to u....."

  • "....How much I do love u.... to get that answer just ask ur own. I gave my heart and my whole life is for u. Demand ur need in my life such strong so that I always do think about u at day time.even I get u on my dream as well.

    Where u do live .

  • has anyone heard the remix by dj billy...its actually pretty good...compared to the remixes that are made...most remixes destroy the original song...but thats a remix thats has given more respect to this song...

  • Simply immortal. If I was to lose my memory completely tomorrow, I will still be able to sing along with this song when it is played. Its not in the mind. Its in the heart. I must have listened to this thousands of times in my life time, and no surprise, it gets better every time. Its a song for all generations. Many thanks to SK, SJ, Rafi, Lata and the rest. On a funny note, was it SK himself who did those somersaults at 3:08. If it was, I bet he will not be able to repeat this now :)

  • omg , this is lovely , thankyou

  • love this song man.......thanks for the upload

  • Master piece by SJ, Rafi.Latha and Shailendra. Thanks for posting this great piece.

  • my friend earlier mentioned abt it being difficult to reach upto the zenith as these two singers have approached......I'd rather say it just impossible.....there combination is like HORIZON....it doesnt bring no good reaching for horizon coz the nearer u go the further it gets...... MY TRIBUTE and token of gratitude to such great singers.....MAY GOD BLESS THEIR SOULS....

  • Fantastic SHANKER-JAIKISHEN DHAMAKA FROM THE SIXTIES.

  • all salutes to this iconic song- a jewel in the crown of old songs
