@masieha Sahih Hadith contradict Ghulam Ahmad as a Messiah. It's so silly and self-contradictory, that it's laughable. Muhammad ibn Abdullah is to be the Mahdi's name. The Mahdi will arrive when the Dajjal will openly appear and he will be declared the Khalifa in Makkah.

Hadhrat Umme Salmah(RA) narrates that Rasulullah(SAW) said:

After the death of a Ruler there will be some dispute between the people. At that time a citizen of Madina will flee (from Madina) and go to Makkah. While in Makkah, certain people will approach him between Hajrul Aswad and Maqaame Ibraheem, and forcefully pledge their allegiance to him.

The first ijmah of sahaba at the death of Holy Prophet SAW was that Muhammad SAW has passed away like the prophets before him (SAW) have been passed away (Sahih Bukhari Vol 3).

There is absolutely no exception to Isa AS in this ijmah.

Quran says that Isa AS has passed away. If you don’t consider the metaphorical meaning of Isa AS behind Mahdi Hadith, it goes against Quran. The choice is yours….

The narration continues but I do want to know how one can twist this hadith which is rather clear cut into something of a metaphor? Mahdi will come and re-establish the Caliphate and will RULE for 7 years. Esa(AS) will also return and will even PRAY behind Imam Mahdi. These are Sahih narrations.

The Mahdi is none other than Jesus son of Mary (Sunan Ibn Maja, Kitab ul Fitan). Isa AS was of red complexion, curly hair and broad chest and the Jesus of later days is a man of brown color with straight hair (Sahih Bukhari Vol 2). Even if faith ascended to the Pleiades completely disappearing from the earth someone from Salman Farsi AS ethnic background would restore faith back to earth (Sahih Bukhari Vol 3).
