She was jealous of her - now thinking Caleb has a thing for Alison. She did it in bat form, so as to disguise herself, though Caleb realized it was her from the start (probably because he had gone into bat form when he was a vampire and also black moth/butterfly form - when he wooed Tess to come out for the sleigh ride in Surrender.)
