  • If the 3vze had an exhaust on it then it would sound alot better. My 3vze has a cherrybomb glasspack and sounds amazing. I have a video of it without the muff at all. It sounds amazing.

  • YEAH 3VZE!!!

  • 22re

  • Purchased a used toyota pickup with unknown engine issues. Turned there was a nut stuck in the 4th cylinder (probably intentional sabotage) preventing the engine from turning over by hand. Removed the head, removed the nut, reassembled, runs strong. These engines are rock solid.

  • both junk

  • 3vze

  • both sounded terrible

  • 22re

  • Exhaust on that silver one? tell me about it

  • The last thing i was expecting was hood-rich to get out of the drivers seat rofl!

  • they both suck

  • sick trucks but what a waste of time

  • give me the 22re anyday! next time do a back to back pull, now that would be worth watching

  • What a delightful conversation.

I'm a 3VZ-E guy but the 22-RE is the undeniable classic.

  • @taitai907 Same here, a freaking suicide bomber could be in the engine, and it would run better than any Ford/Chevy/Dodge period after the explision. Not to mention, Toyota's trucks are built like tanks!

  • one makes a grinding sound and one sounds like a ricer :(

    Chevy v8 all the way

  • @TheSteelhead15 you know what a 350 compensates for right? Small dick/breasts (for women). Thats all. The only reason the v6 makes a whoosh sound is the STOCk exhaust. But, go listen to any 4.7 or 5.7 i-FORCE v8. Then try tell me it dont sound good.

  • @Motorfordtoyota Not Really Guys that drive big powerstroke diesels and don't own anything to tow are the compansaters

  • @TheSteelhead15 Yeah, pretty much. But if a 350 Chevy isnt, then a 5.7 i-FORCE Toyota isnt either.

  • Yeah! Chevy V8 all the way...to the junk yard.

  • the only reason toyota stoped making the 22re is because they never broke down. its one of the best engines ever made.

  • Toyota 22R or 2,7 four bangers are excellent engines, torque and reliability outstanding however they sound like four bangers sick.

  • v6=dumb..

  • you should put annotations as dialogue so it looks like the 2 trucks are having a conversation.

  • those 3.0s ant worth a shit

  • in my humble opinion, 22re is the most durable engine ever made

  • the 3rz (2.7) sounds the best

  • both sound like shit

  • theyre both silver and black. say the one on left or one on right. your a fucking idiot, they are both silver and black. but the one on the right is mainly silver, but has black. the one on the left is black, but has silver. your an idiot

  • Fuck yes, lil truck 22r, only way to go. Tight.

  • lol bunch of pissed off bees, i love that damn 22re. sold mine and got a 3,4L 4 runner and miss it already. lesson learned- YOU CANT BEAT THE AWESOME TOYOTA 4 BANGER.

  • and the winner is... 22re. plus they are impossible to kill, i have been trying to kill mine for over a year and gosh darnit, it will not die, thats why i love my little 22re pickup

  • I have an 89 with the 3.0 V6 in it ( 2 wheel drive long bed dually auto ) here in the UK. its done just over 230000 miles and has never had anything major go wrong ( its had 2 x new batteries since Ive had it , plus tyres/ brakes ,etc and the usual things you expect to replace , but never had any major (or small ) problems with anything. Its never ever let me down, cant fault it. Dont know what Ill ever replace it with , the new ones have got a lot to live up to to be as good as this.

  • all you guys in them big trucks are just over compensating for your small dicks, so stop hating on toyotas.

  • haha! aint that the truth

  • @yoderman911 wrong, we have big dicks so we can handle big trucks, don't need to prove anything to you

  • @snakesonaplane2 ford=small dick

  • @EPzti think that all you want, doesn't matter to me because i don't drive Ford anyways, i drive Chevy because they don't break down, i respect anything that's built with quality and that includes the Toyota 22re, one of a handful of motors that can last as long as a small block 350

  • what a bunch of dumb asses

  • Neither...One of em sounds like a 2 stroke dirtbike lol...Gotta love 22re's though!!

  • I see no problem. its gonna outlast whatever engine you have in that car you borrow from your mother.

plenty of power offroad. I get 22 miles to the gallon in a 4x4, and havent had issues on or offroad.

  • @Ariannyishot you say 22re's are for girls and 3.slows blow prematurely im calling you drive a v8 or drive your daddy's f250 without a scratch on it cause you cum prematurely fuck head

  • Who gives a shit what it sounds like. All that matters is that the 22RE performs better no matter where you are. And by the way, cat backs and shit are for v8s. In my opinion anyway. I never found the weak sound of a 4 cylinder that scary when they rev. and that's why mine is stock.

  • It sounds better the 22RE but obiously it is more pouerfull a V-6

  • I have a 3.0 in my Yota and it has held up to 18yrs of 4wheeling and street abuse. I have a once chamber flowmaster with full 3inch exhaust and tail pipes with 6inch tips. Check it out.

  • Throw a 14" turbo muffler on the V6, it'll sound a lot better. The stock mufflers are awfully restrictive, you can tell since they make the exhaust completely silent, only sound is the gases, no tone at all.

  • lol.. wtf is this.. sounds like vacume cleaners..

  • amen bliglum!

  • too bad those 3.0 L are toyotas worst motor ever.

  • what is really sad is how one of toyota's worst motors is better than some companies best motors!

  • v6 if it had the a flowmaster er somethin'. Our sounds good with a rotted muff. v6 of course.

  • you can get that v6 to sound pretty good

  • btter burnout

  • Now somebody has to do a comparison between the beast 2.7L four banger and a 3.4L V6 lol. Personally I'm a four cylinder guy, I own a 22R-E truck and if I bought another Toyota truck I'd get a 22R or the newer 2.7L four. They're all great motors though, just a matter of taste!

  • 22re gotta love them 4 bangers

  • Yeah, this wouldn't prove anything.. AT ALL. A race would be more eye catching.

  • I have a 86 with a badass carb/gears/headerback/ dual friction

clutch and 35 inch tires and I can smoke a 4runner well not a 1998 or better those things run a 16 second 1/4 mile stock but i can burn second gear off with our much trouble but its a bit violent feeling inside the truck lol

  • yay go toyota

  • They both sound crap!

  • 22re

  • They both sound like shit!

  • personally the 22r-e sounds better the v6 souns like it's got an exhaust pipe rattle

  • they both sound bad

  • the one on the left.

  • Comment removed

  • I've seen alot of 22re's with blown gaskets... enough to make me consider them not all what everyone claims them to be... still a tough motor nonetheless.

Oh, neither sounds good. I prefer a quiet growl...

  • Comment removed

  • 3.0 or 22re my dad has the 3.0 and i have the 22re and they both get through as good as the other

  • Comment removed

  • 22re way more reliable and durable sounds way better also

  • on the V6 if take of the intake silencer when its decelerates its loud

  • 3.0 WILL rape a 22re

  • Comment removed

  • 3.0 will not rape a 22re

  • wat was the fuckin point in that, get a license and drive those yoders.retards!

  • The Silver One Sounds Better.

  • 3.0 will rape a 22re any day.

    displacement FTW!!!!

  • 22r-e!!!!!!!!!!! 3.SLOWS ARE CRAP!

  • they are accually pretty fast we have one.

  • i'll never get those 51 seconds of my life back. at least race them

  • listen to what a 3.0 need to sound like

  • i like the v6 cause i have one and it sounds sweet

  • The 3 liter had a head gasket problem, the V6's that were gelling were because the factorys oil change interval was to far. The 1mz-fe and 5s-fe had the gelling problem.

  • V6 wins

  • 22-RE all the way. the 3.0L v-6 is a pile from the factory

  • @mauser8mm192422 no they aren't, the 22re is to underpowered for a 4runner!

  • @Motorfordtoyota the main problem with the 3.0L is the factory defected heads they used.other then that you get a bit more horse power out of the 3.0L thats all

  • @mauser8mm192422 yea but they redeemed them selves with the 3.4, not a bad motor at all

  • @mauser8mm192422 I beg to Differ! Mine has 268000 miles on it and still going strong!

  • 22RE SOUNDS MUCH BETTER!

  • i dont fight with people who disrespect other people so im backing off from this pointless comment fighting

  • refering to METALMULISHACO

  • im actually real skinny bitch and u dont know shit about engines go beat of to ur anime

  • little homo,... you spell like you have a forth grade education. You retarded little girl,.. pole smokin' sheet soaker. metal turns tricks out of the public urinal for five bucks a pc. Retarded faggot!

  • bitch u cant even spell fourth right what the fuck are u talkin about u crack head u dont know shit about shit bitch so dont talk inbred bitch owned

  • Haha you're one to talk. Forth. Hahahahaha.

  • i have had both the v6, and the 22re. The v6 doesnt make that much more power, considerin size. I have had far more luck with 22res than any engine i have ever owned, including chev small blocks, ford and dodge v8s, and everything in between

  • I have a 87 4runner with a solid axle swap a 22re with a shaved head and 37s and ive raced my buddy in his stock 93 4runner with the 3.0 and i beat him off the line every time. I wouldnt mind having a v6 but i can get just as much or more power with the 22re.

  • the 22re SOUNDS beter but the v6 does infact last longer depending on the driver. the v6 has far more power and durability than the I4 the only down side to the v6 was the radiator bypass tube witch usualy burns out after ever 45k miles. i have both v6 and I4 engines. the I4 is newer and ive done more to that engine than even my 572 chev big block in my nova. so if your looking for sound the I4 is for u. if u want durability, reliability and power the v6 is for u.

  • ur a dumbass and dont know what ur talking about the 22r-e is much more reliable u probally dont even have a nova with a 572 or even a stock nova adv512 go watch all ur favorites witch are gay asian videos

  • just because i have more experiance with engines than you and happen to like anime and funny asian video's doesnt give u a right to dis me in anyway. y dont u go sue mc'donolds because they fucked you up and it probly took u 10 minutes to dis me in a stupid way when u could take 10 minutes on a stair master fat ass.

  • hmm idk, it sounds like u know what you are talking about, but some of the V6's had oil gelling problems and were terrible engines. The l4's were quite reliable from what I hear. Btw u have a Nova?

  • the old school v6's suck ass and dont last as long as the 22's, i seen alot of stock 22's smoke the v6

  • what a dumbass

  • sounds like nitrous purge lol

  • what V6 is that? The 3 liter isn't as strong as the 22RE in my opinion

  • you can pretty much beat the hell out of a 22re though. they are very tough motors

  • if you like rice cannons the 22re sounds better i guess but the v6 all the way for me

  • And it doesnt sound like the car on this video, mine is way better

  • On friends account: I have a 22re on my 86 4runner and it sounds nice.

  • dont you guys have cardomain pages?

  • 22re but I think the sr5 would have beat it if it had flowmaster exhaust

  • soundlike fart (jk)

  • mine does NOT sound like that. what diameter pipe is the re running?

  • i cant stop laughing

  • hahaha me too

  • the v6 sounds cool but the 22r is a better motor by far

  • your just jelous cause ur v6 blowns headgaskets for fun and my POS 22RE that barely runs still doesnt wana die

  • the stock sr5 way better, the 22 re sounds like a little mini bike

  • thankyou very much... 22re's, even with the exhaust done sound like shit

  • personally I like the sound of both. I own a '87 Toyota pickup with the 22RE. I like those years of 4Runner, '84-'89 body style cause they all came with 4wd. I own a '87 Toyota pickup with the 22RE.

  • mad props to you for being a toyota guy, unlike this 12Gslug faggit who gets hardons for breaking chevys... 12G is prolly what he spent on fixing something stupid in his" like a rock" truck

  • Whoops. I typed the same sentence twice. Ya know...I got a joke about "like a rock". These two guys were leaning up against a Toyota truck watching this Chevy from across a lake. The Chevy was putting a boat in the water down a boat ramp. All of sudden the Chevy keeps rolling down the boat ramp and into the water with the boat. One guy leaning against the Toyota says "It's sinking!" The other guy says "Yep...like a rock."

  • lmao thats soooo jokes!:P omg im using that!!!

  • nice

  • Both sound like little farts...

  • my 454 sounds best :D

  • its just a demonstration get off our nuts (im the driver of the 22re yota)

  • what a pointless waste of fuel, time, and 4Runners.

  • FUCKER!

  • Well they both sound like shit... The four banger sounds like a lawnmower..

  • umm yea bro i have a 2wd 4runner.. but i dont care what poeple say... i like it and it makes it through some pretty tough shit so yea watever

  • o and is the silver one a 4wd also?

  • forsure, is a 2wd 4runner even worth it?:P... haha but unfortunatly they're both IFS

  • are these 4runners?

  • yes they're both 1989 toyota 4runners, the black and silver one is 22re and the black one is v6

  • none mi 4y sounds way better

  • 22re sounds better lol

  • i love my 3.0 so much more than my old 22r trucks.

my 2wd 1993 v6 xtracab is actually quick.

i dont care how many head gasket jobs it needs
