I enjoy a little bit of realism in my sword fights.... at least to a point where I see what's going on rather than flashing lights and sparks. Sword of the Stranger takes the cake for best sword fight in my opinion.

Meh....high speed battles like these have gotten really boring to watch, they need to mix it in with some slow motion scenes, overall it was a good sword fight in average anime standards, but not the best. What made it nice was the ost that was playing in this scene, a better sword fighting scene can be viewed in Sword of the Stranger, or the shippuden episode where Kirabi kicks Sasuke's ass, or when Byakuya fights Kouga....just saying...

@killingspeerx This is from 'Jubei-Chan 2:The attack of the Siberia Yagyu' The girl in dark colours is the heroine of the series. The eyepatches are what they derive their power from, the fight stems from Jubei the second (dark) being labelled an 'Imposter' by a new enemy.

This 'True descendant of Jubei' in white is Yagyu Freesia, Daughter of the legendary Japanese samurai, she wants the original 'lovely' eyepatch returned to her and to kill the imposter. Freesia wears a Spade shaped eyepatch.

You know, this being considered the best fight of the series really gets my goat. The series in itself is a parody and this fight is the pinnacle of that. Earlier fights are better, if a lot shorter. eh, all the over the top stuff ruins it for me. huge explotions, destruction of land scape, and darting around just look like an excuse for the animators to escape having to do realistic dynamic physical combos and facial reactions and expressions. which to me would be much more entertaining. but mabye its because i dont know the context of this fight. it all just looks like the same cliche anime style fight, more about overpowering the bad guy, instead of using clever strategies.

There is NO way in hell this is the best sword anime. My problem with the fight is you cant see 70 percent of the fight. Showing a bunch of flashing lights at 30 frames per second is prett ylazy anime trick and insulting to the viewer. Afro Samurai and Samurai Champloo have the decency to show dodges, near misses and some actual blocks an parrying.
