I remember a match , in St Étienne . The Ball came to zidane, but the pass was too high and he hasd to jump to control the Ball, kind like we see in the video. I remember the whole stadium gone quiet. Zidane was dancing with the ball, and you dont make noise when you go to a ballet.

Indeed, he always do the roulette anti-clockwise. Maybe because is right footed (even if he could play with both feet). I guess he instinctivly tend to use the right leg to start the move. Don't know. Just a guess.

Re that goal against Norway, there's a nice little video in which Zizou talks about his ten favourite goals, which includes the reverse angle of that Norway goal. Just paste "Zinédine Zidane - talks about & comments his best of goals ! ! ! - PART 1" in the youtube searchbar. The goal against Italy that precedes it has a first touch that is almost as good! Oh, I see!...thanks for that, that makes sense. That's one reason why the "elastico" is not the most effective move to use: It's almost always performed with your stronger foot, so the ball ends up on your weaker side (Ronaldinho was two-footed, so he could get away with it). Although, come to think of it, Zidane was pretty two footed, so I'm suprised he never learned to "roulette" clockwise as well, to double his options so to speak.
