  • HAHAHA reading all the rants about Boston. You idiots are just now wising up to how much your city sucks? Have fun freezing your balls off half the year and never seeing the sun! Oh wait, there's a black person! Let's kick his ass! Screw you and your old school ways Boston. Your city had its time...200 years ago! Your old world, repressive, Puritan bullshit isn't gonna last forever and there's nothing you can do about it! HAH!!!!!

  • ROCK STEADY JOHN EDDIE

  • Dr Jack Ramsey started a lot of that stuff

  • When was Boston not overrun by yuppies? The first Menino administration back in 1918?

  • When was Boston not overrun by yuppies? The great Depression?

  • When was Boston not overrun by yuppies? 1939?

  • @chuckschickrules still better than any other place I've ever lived (San Francisco, New York , Los Angeles)

  • Ha, I like the autograph to the Kowloon haha, hell yes

  • Wow, I recall listening to Johnny on the radio in the 1800's...eh, I mean 1960/70's!

The Celtics/76'ers (Jack Ramsey) rivalry was so strong that there's be fan fights in the stands.

Johnny would become so emotional during the games that he'd scream into the radio mike. You couldn't understand a thing he was saying.

  • @noclouds111 If you wanna talk about fights in stands talk about the bruins in the 70's, not basketball which is full of pussies.

  • @Macknsteez If I wanted that, I would have typed 'HOCKEY' in the search. Get it?

  • @noclouds111 I guess it just comes down to the fact that I don't respect the things you like.

And if you're ever going to talk about fights, talk about sports that are worth fighting about, like hockey, not basketball where as soon as you make any physical contact with another sweaty half naked man, you get thrown out of the game. It's not even a sport.

  • @Macknsteez This is a basketball forum. The door to your favorite topic has H-O-C-K-E-Y written on it. There's a fight just waiting for you...OVER THERE! Go get 'em, tiger!

  • @noclouds111 This actually isn't a forum? Anyone with any interests can comment on it without being scolded by a 6'5'' giant freakozoid basketball player

  • @Macknsteez I was minding my own business until you appeared. How stupid are you?

  • @Macknsteez Are you the same person who first replied to my comment? You're doing the same thing that you're complaining about. Scolded? Isn't that what you did to me at first? You sound like a twelve-year-old.

  • @noclouds111 I love you ;)

  • @Macknsteez and the same to you, my friend

  • Dam, someone needs to upload the video, of the fight

  • Somebody should upload a video of Most calling Rick Mahorn and Jeff Ruland "McFilthy" and "McNasty."

  • Johnny Most = garbage announcer. Horrible delivery and a ridiculous homer to boot..

  • I grew up in LA as a Laker fan and I love Johnny Most. Chick is the shit too, but Most was my favorite announcer to immitate. Most is second only to Howard Cosell as my favorite broadcast voice.

  • This sound bit is from when John Long played for the Pacers and Jack Ramsay was the coach there. This has NOTHING to do with the Pistons. It is a great sound bite by Johnny Most.

  • Mike Rice=Johnny Most

  • The world hated the Detroit Pistons.

They played so tough, dirty, and hard that they were dubbed the "Bad Boys" by the media. They lived up to the "Bad Boy" image by practicing in black jerseys - complete with skull and crossbones - given to them personally by Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis. The moniker became official.

Considered one of the greatest teams ever to take the court, the 1989-90 Detroit Pistons won back to back championships against the Lakers and Trailblazers.

  • Maybe Johnny Most could have commented when McHale clotheslined Rambis that it was as yellow and disgusting as this incident

  • LOL this is such a JOKE! These homer Celtic announcers are completely oblivious to what kind of team Boston really was!

  • @LuigiLaker That's the whole point. Johnny was the best

  • @LuigiLaker Boston > LA.....so you're right on the money

  • boy do I miss Johnny.........this new guy Grandy sucks !!!!

  • Grandy and Maxwell are a great team. Don't hate on em.

  • Max is great...Grandy is so annoying..pontifications and his own"radio replays"....cannot listen !

  • Johnny was the MOST!

  • @dorotwhy ......irritating announcer of the 80's!!!!

  • @tcampbellla He was passionate about the Celtics! A TRUE and LOYAL fan. Since he died I have not heard another "announcer" commentator even remotely come close to the excitement and energy he added to the games. Maybe you prefer GENERIC and DULL...but to me JOHNNY WAS THE MOST!

  • Guys, People what does this Southie talk have anything to do with Celtic basketball?? This is about our team and our legendary announcer.

  • i sure do miss johnny..he was the best basketball announcer ever..marty brennemann is the best in baseball...

  • R.I.P Johnny...you were the greatest. Listening to him you either hated him like Hell or you became a Celtics fan like myself.

  • I'm no Celtic fan, and I still love Most. Same with Chick Hearn and the Lakers.

  • MOST WAS THE MOST.

  • johnnymostcelts, do you have the "Voice of the Celtics" CD? I'd love to hear that on youtube.

  • my dad played against john long in high school

  • RIP Johnny.

    Most entertaining announcer ever!

  • Thanks SO MUCH for posting this. I always listened with the TV down and Johnny and Glenn up.

    Brought back some great memories.

    ~telengard

  • Nice Kowloon picture.

  • johnny was, is ,and forever will be the best....before espn and all this other video stuff....who ever turns the tv down and the radio up nowadays to listen to the Celts?

  • not for the celts, but I do it for Gil and Gino for the Pats games

  • I like Tommy

  • Is that Ordway? This is the first time I've heard him with Johnny.

  • THE LORDLY ADRIAN DANTLY, HIS LORDSHIP.

    LOL

    RIP Johnny.

  • Back when Boston was Boston, not some town overrun by yuppies.

  • Yup.Once proud, ethnic city, now overrun with anonymous, posing nobodies. Boston's transformed into Anytown,USA thanks to these dickheads. I'm a 3rd-generation South Boston native, and I cannot believe what is happening here.

  • move to new hampshire you racist rat

  • Racist? Because I detest lilly-white, posing, tradition-less Yuppies who take credit for and claim ownership to the tough reputation of my city while they grew up 40-50 miles away, in the leafy burbs, completely removed from the experiences of my youth? You're an idiot.

  • So you're not allowed to live in Boston unless your family has been living there for three generations? Yeah sure, South Boston was much better 25 years ago. Instead of all this yuppie scum "invading" Southie, you had crack dealers on every other street corner. Get over yourself.

  • You're just not allowed to lay claim to tradition that isn't yours. Most of the city has been yuppie-fied. And sorry, no crack dealers on every other corner in Southie 25 years ago. Just a corner store run by a family, not a starbucks.

  • Just like your name your a "fool" you must be a yuppie because you have no idea what your talking about. Go back to Ipswich fucking yuppie.

  • Couldn't agree more my family has lived on the same block in Southie for over 50 years and I can't stand whats going on around here. Thanks You

  • Same here...you and I probably know each other. And our parents probably knew one another, and our grandparents...that's what I miss most about Southie. These new people are just soul-less. No idea what a neighborhood should be. This was the best place in the world to grow up, but now...well, like I said before, it's Anytown, USA. I only hope people don't mistake me for one of these trendy, posing, wanna-be Yuppie scumbag pieces of shite.

  • Exactly, you got these kids who's parents grew up in Southie walking around with their shirts down to their ankles shorts down around their ass, it's horrible to see this around here plus all these yuppies and "others" that come around here and buy houses and invite their friends from god knows where for st paddies day is aweful and ruins tradition. On the other hand you do still have true Southie people who know and respect this place those are the people we need more of hopefully it'll happen.

  • Why don't you direct some of that anger towards the lifelong Southie residents that are cashing out and selling their houses to the yuppies? The yuppies' houses aren't springing up from the ground. Neighborhood and tradition is fine, as long as it doesn't interfere with the almighty dollar, I guess. Southie people are happy to benefit from the increase in property value from the town being yuppi-fied, but then hate the yuppies at the same time. Sounds a bit hypocritical to me.

  • If you lived around here you would know that the cost of living here is a lot higher than back in the day. The genuine Southie people simply cannot afford to live here anymore therefore you have to sell. The property is going up because the yuppies come in and buy the houses for 2x the real amount. If you lived here you would get it

  • I'm glad how we've lost sight of Johnny Most's brilliance and moved on to this bratty Southie ranting about the "good old days". I bet you think that's some original line, too. Nostalgia, oh you vile mistress. . too bad the people in your "old days" were pining for their "old days". Shit changes, embrace it or don't but the problem isn't going to be resolved by bitching about it on an unrelated string of comments. Oh yeah, Johnny was pretty damn awesome. If he was only around for 2008. .

  • I would say something concrete back but I have no idea what your saying, don't talk about southie you live there and have lived there through everything that has gone on please you sound follish.

  • My advice to the young Southie generation is to spend as much time as possible working hard in school and then in college or their chosen trade, and avoid the messing around on street corners and in pubs. Then they will earn enough money to afford living in a residential area that is two miles away from a major metropolitan financial district. I can understand pride in a neighborhood, but there is also some laziness and a huge sense of entitlement in what you're saying.

  • Your damn right there's a sense of entitlement in what I'm saying my family and all the families around me have owned the same house on the same block for near 75 years. So yes being that my family has been around here for a long time we are entitled to our opinion.

  • Well if you own your house you should be happy at the situation, the yuppies are causing your property values to shoot way up while the rest of the country is experiencing drops in house values. Most homeowners worry about lower income families moving into their neighborhoods and causing property values to drop. In Southie the reverse is happening, and long-time Southie residents get to benefit from the inflated home values. Not sure what there is to complain about there...

  • Theres plenty to complain about not about the houses but the people moving into the houses they are not from around here they think their better than everyone else and they arent friendly with the old and kids that have been here forever. Just the way they present themselves..us people from southie dont like change much and these people are bringing way too much way to fast.

  • The yuppies of the cause of everything

  • johnny most= da best announcer ever
