@fasttrackdriver Ya the red river video also shows the suspension at work ,the mud bog wasn't even an issue for that thing at all just planed over the whole thing like nothin ,great machine !
The clock on video is starting at 29.57 (maybe twentynine fifty six and a half) it ends at 30.33. You do the math. Okay I will do it, 36 seconds. The length on the player says it is 38 seconds long. That seems in the range of rounding error and fade in - out lose. This evidence make the clock look slow?
still out a couple of seconds. anyways ive seen 4wheeled vehicles drive on water at simular speeds....professional hillclimbing trucks can get speeds and tire spin speeds (on water) up high enough to keep 4 tires ontop the water.
Those vehicles can only stay up on a plane, they cannot get up on a plane from a standing start. FastTrack1 can do it pulling up skiers. See the original video - "High Speed Tracked Amphibian"
Scale-up the concept, add a turbine engine(s) from a helicopter, lightly armor a hull big enough for about twelve to sixteen troops, with a drop-gate in the rear, and have the where-with-all to put together the facilities to manufacture it, and you might get rich, building the next generation of high-speed amphibious landing craft / special ops vehicle.
@skeilak We have a Navy SBIR where we are testing to prove the concept would work in a larger vehicle. We are looking at a turbine for the next generation vehicle.
I can see a lot of serious engineering challenges ahead for you. Not the least of which, is that to achieve the effect you're looking for, and to be stable, the vehicle is going to fairly wide, thus making it somewhat unwieldy on roads, which is why this would be better than a hovercraft.
Good luck to you, in any case. My brain is starting to hurt, just thinking of some of what you'll have to overcome, to create a new high-speed LVT-1.
@skeilak General Dynamics has been working on that for the U.S. Marines for a while now. Originally called the AAAV (Advanced Amphibious Assault Vehicle) but now its known as the EFV (Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle.
Now make one that you can efficiently fish out of. Put a casting deck and live wells, trolling motor, etc. No more launching the boat, just drive it from your yard into the lake. Only if you have a house on the lake of course.
You should make some videos with someone talking and describing this thing. It would be nice to know the specs and engine size and see a close up of the controls.
i drive snowmachines all the time up here in alaska and the average expensive snowmachine can top 115 mph on rock hard trail on river and lakes.but in powder goes a lot slower because the track slips no matter where it is,especially water. and 50mph is kinda slow for top speed on a snowmachine unless its a older one.
How does it work on rough ground?

I think the army would like to have a look at that.
And, yes it goes fine flat out. What about turning going flat out?
Also, what kind of motor are you running?
Whatever it is i'm sure a racing v8 could do better XD

@oilfield666 ya, I think they are making it seem faster by speeding the clock up a little.
