Nice elevator. I noticed that whenever the doors slam, you hear a bang. It's the inside doors this time on each floor. Also, the doors slamming on you then opening up and going into nudge-mode. :D Schindler for ya!
I'm not suprised when he says it was bad when it was installed. There are no more excuses for the Schindler "no-alarm" thing, admit it, Schindler is not the best with alarms. I also want to know the moron that decided brown for the doors.
The brown doors would be Lord & Taylor's doing. Dan also can be a drama queen at some times, and currently this is the best running passenger elevator in the mall. I do agree that alarms are not Schindler's forte, and they do need to improve in that.
What really caught me was how accurate the elevator leveled, and that it hasn't re-leveled once yet. (At least on me. I am not sure of the other filmer's experiences, but it never did it to me.)
I'll tell you this, that elevator was even bad on MARCH 10, 1998!!! I remember that day like it was yesterday. Those were the days when the filene's elevator worked "all fine and dandy". It was fast, smooth, quiet, floor indicator animation... Back to this lift... It used to re-level, and would take forever to do so, it used to take FOREVER to level, for a while (c. 1999-2002) it displayed "1", "2", "3", and "LL", "1", "2", then "LL", "ML", "UL", etc... It is MUCH MUCH MUCH BETTER NOW!!!
It's still running OK, still better than any others in the mall. I am being very critical towards this elevator, and am thinking about modifying the video information.
