A bloke I knew, promised he was going to play this at their last party at the rocket before it closed. Come 6AM it hadn't come on and I was dissappointed so I went up to the stage to see him. But it turned out he'd paid off security to get an extra 1/2 hr. It came on at 06:27, the lights came up half way through it and as the last crescendo broke, I saw smiles breaking out across the room until there were 1000+ people grinning up at us - best feeling ever MATE!!!

Well I remember... making it :-)

I stood at the back of the studio listening, trying to get Ofra Hazza's voice to come out one speaker, cross the room and go back into the other even though I thought no-one would ever notice. Then one day I was on the balcony of The Rocket in Holloway, ever so slightly off my tits when this came on and her voice came out of the speaker stack, crossed the hall and went back into the other one-RESULT!

Mate if you made this the I feel compelled to tell you what a fantastic time I had to this record! Just this morning we were talking about when trance first came about and this and mirage were voted the best of the era - THANKS! You must have made many a ravers day!

It's funny you say that cos at the time there wasn't really a genre called 'trance'. Mixmag/update etc. would often refer to a tune in the techno section of reviews as 'a real trancer' or something similar and I started thinking, "what makes any other tune into a trance-tune?"

That's where the 303 line came from.

There was a about two years while all that sound built up without being packaged and sold as trance Chocci Eye Q Harthouse and lest we forget Casper Pound RIP and Rising High/Sapho records. Once the label TRANCE became ubiquitous it was the beginning of the end, and the Ministry of Sound style compilations began to water everything down till it was just horrible and cheesy. BTW you should try mixing Mirage Airbourne into the end of 303 heaven - I think it was my best ever mix!
