I just read the cockpit transcripts, and I so so sad. No one deserves to have such a horrific death. For those people who like to joke about things, thats alright your turn will come, and it will probably be worst. So get ready for it!
when the shuttle exploded, the cockpit deployed in 1 piece with al the ppl inside in 1 piece but the force of hitting the sea killed them all and when they investigated the helmats, 3 of them siad that there oxygen had been activated. scary!

Gotta hand it to Nasa, they've made the first manned firecracker. Maybe they'll invest on something that can go up and not tear itself apart? They should have Volvo make them instead of Ford (j/k).
It never acctually exploded, the seal failure caused a flame leak from the SRB that impinged upon the adjacent external propellant tank and aft SRB connecting strut. Within seconds the flame caused structural failure of the external tank, and the orbiter broke up abruptly due to aerodynamic forces
