@traceur73 A good mic (SM57), a good mic placement, a good recording software...and good fingers, cuz tone is in the fingers.

@traceur73 In addition to what MKuklowski mentions, you should consider purchasing a "Hot Plate," or other brand of Attenuator (Hot Plates are the best, though), so you can get those tubes nice and hot, producing the "proper MARSHALL Tone!" (I have a JCM2000 DSL100, and I am in the market for a Hot Plate, now.)

That SM57 should run into a nice Interface (Behringer makes a GREAT $33 one, or you can go higher!) But of course, he was 100% correct: Ultimately "TONE" comes from the fingers!

I learn this song just a while ago. Just download the tabs for the original White Christmas and transpose them enough that it matches this version. Then it's easy to just play on the backing track. And you can always improvise the solo! Like I do every time I play this:D
