Hmmm... I have an HD Mino version of this camera. Frankly, I'm not that impressed with it. The software does not always work as it should, and sometimes when recording, there are 'skips' on the image and the sound, not due to user error. Not a nice thing for a digital device. Overall, all I can say it's better than nothing, but only by a small margin. It can be very disappointing, especially because there are almost no adjustments which can be made during recording, except the volume.

Having the Go Pro HD i dont sugest it for Stop motion because yea it has a cool photo timer but its an action cam and there are way better cameras for stop motion

Because the Flip doesn't really take stills at all stop motion would be really difficult. However, any digital camera should do the trick!

Not directly but you can easily capture frames from your videos and export them as .jpgs. This is not a substitute for a decent digital camera.

The 1st generation Flips are the first production run of Flip recorders which are no longer produced.

I don't know about the underwater cover :)

How was that video edited?? All I can see so far is that you can upload one Flip video to YouTube at a time, with no editing like you have in your "How To." Pausing would be helpful but that's not editing. Thanks for your reply.

the price is different in many stores but they range from $100-$180 and it also depends on how many minutes it can take and also what kind of flip you get. there are 3 different kinds, Flip Mino, Flip Ultra and the regular flip video. You can get a 30 minute one or a 60 minute one. There are 5 different colors, White, Black, Orange, Green and Pink

I have a question...I got my flip camera for christmas, and a few months later whenever i tried to save videos on my computer it says that it was unsuccesful for incomplete,and even on my uncles computer it says that too.My dad went to the site for it, and he did something that was supposed to make it work and it still doesnt work..What should I do?..sorry its long..

I think that you need to uninstall the software on your flip and reinstall the new updated software for the flip. You can do this at the Flip website. It should definitely work after that. If it doesnt work, I would return it to the store that you purchased it at and ask for a new one.

So once you upload the video to your computer, can you edit it with Windows Movie Maker? Because I hear that the editing software that comes with the camera can only change the length of the video; it's really limited.

Yes you can edit with Windows Movie maker, no problem. You can save the file to your computer and then import the footage into Windows Movie Maker. It is very easy to do and Windows Movie Maker will walk you through the process.

Wow thanks, I can NOT live without my FlipVideoUltra, it's so easy to use, portable, comes with its own case, very small, its everything. Its amazing how cheap it is, it works very well.

Actually I was looking for a cheaper costing video camera that has clear quality and a good mic in it. Around $150 or less. It would have to be sold at either Samsclub or Walmart as well, because that is where I plan to purches one. What do you recomend?

I recommend the Vivitar 5MP DVR-530, you can get it at Walmart for $110. It records to MP4and takes pictures in JPEG format. It's wonderful for outdoor shooting, but has some issue in low light situations. It stores everything to a 2GB SD card, which provides for about an hour of record time. This doesn't come with the camera, but you can get one at Walmart for around $30. It doesn't come with a lens cap, and won't even accept one.

Thanks for the recomendation. Umm, I will mainly use it for video blogging, to see the lighting and such you may want to view a few of my videos to see the situation the camera will be used in. Do you think the camera will work well in the lighting I use? Does it have to have a memory card or can you just use it without one? Also I would probably buy a memory card anyway, but would it be the same as one like used in a regular digital camera? Thanks I really appreciate your help.

I think it will be ok in your lighting- it mainly has issues in low light like in the evening. The memory card is extra but the total cost with the memory card should still come in under $150. The memory card is an SD card.

I mean as far as being digital I haven't found a camera yet with good digital video quality, does the flip have good video quality. My parents think they look cheap, but overall it's my money and my decision, and I like the looks of the flip, anything bad about them besides what was mentioned in the video?

I use the flip all the time and the only thing that I notice about it is that the zoom is not that great. The quality is pretty good and you can export it for editing which was one of my concerns. Plus, it is extremely easy to transfer the data- literally just pop into your port. It is basic in terms of funtionality and made for convenience but it does not have a lot of bells and whistles. The benefit is the size- you can bring it anywhere, even wear it in your back pocket.
