@1337rico I used to have a clutch and I used a Sci-Ti Pro by STX. It is rather expensive though, also, I'm a midfielder and tape my stick mostly all the way up to the top so weight isn't that big of a deal for me.

100 righty 100 lefty everyday. work on endurance and cradling by going to runs, how ever long but cradle while you run. always have your stick in your hands. you'll get more comfortable holding it that way.

I think it depends on your year, some years are easier than others, but each town can only send a couple of their best players to tryout, so you will be going against the best in your age group.

You are off to a good start with good equipment. I recommend ordering an attack/offense DVD, as an attackman you have to have great stick skills, perfect a number of dodges and be able to find net (lots of wall ball/shooting on cage.). Order up your DVD, grab your gloves, stick and a ball and work your strong and weak hand on a wall...you can never get enough wall ball in. Best of luck, let me know how it is going and/or if you have any other questions.

No, I did not live in Mendham. I live in Flanders (Mt Olive) and played for Chester/Mendham before Mt Olive started their lax program. My cousin was on the 94 Mendham state championship team and my dad played with a lot of guys from Mendham, that is how I started playing at C/M when I was in 3rd grade. I could only play with C/M until 6th grade, league rules forced me to play at MO when they started their program. Chester/Mendham is where I learned how to play lacrosse.

It is tryouts for the state team. Towns can send up to 5 players(1 being a goalie). Something like 6 judges select the team and there was two cuts or tryouts.
