@boobagoonush He didn't diss the West. He dissed gangsta rap. Big difference. Some classic West Coast hiphop dropped around that time. No need for Ace to diss the entire West Coast. Lord Digga, Ace's cousin, is from LA area too.

Re: Zapp. A lot of Gangsta rap music was at the time based on the 1st or 1st four bars of More Bounce. Ace sampled that bar, broke it up, flipped it, made it sound similar yet totally different at the same time. And changes style half way. Genius.

@teemad i thought this was more of a diss towards Brotha Lynch and Sicx. they would always rap about violence and murder, and they both had songs that sampled More Bounce to the Ounce.

@6r4mx1904 TBH I don't know who those two guys are, but back then a lot of gansta rap was sounding all the same - full of arrogant threats of violence or bragging about carrying out suchlike, and they sampled the same Funk and P-Funk tracks. This track appeared to be dig at the whole genre.
