@Drwhocrazy1 I didn't bother since technically they don't all exist, and many of them would be just whatever title sequence the people who pieced together the episode created. I don't really plan on making anymore Dr. Who videos since I have 2 strikes against my account (not related to Dr. Who) and I want to stay under the BBC's radar.
You do know that there is a difference right? Troughton's ended like Hartnell's theme only with the addition of the whistles. Pertwee/Baker ended with a stutter.
Hey, what about "The Vampire From Space"? (That was the original title of "Axos" - you can see a rough cut of "Axos", with that title sequence, on the DVD.)
I was not aware of that. I had that DVD a while ago, also before I had the proper software to rip stuff like that. All I could do was rip entire DVDs and then sort through the VOB files. Not very fun. Now I can get individual titles, but as with Invasion I had not got to that episode yet. I got these episodes all at once and am still going through them. Just last night I finished watching "The Sea Devils."
Well I was not aware of the name discrepancy. I haven't had a chance to screen all these serials yet. I do also have all the Hartnell and Baker serials to look at as well. :-P Seems odd though that they changed the name between episodes. Maybe someone at the BBC said, "Umm.. we've used that title A LOT.. maybe we need to spice it up a bit??"
The title was contracted to Invasion for the first episode in an attempt to hide the presence of dinosaurs. After Episode One's cliffhanger - the appearance of the first dinosaur - all remaining episodes restored the full title of Invasion of the Dinosaurs. This clever scheme never worked anyway; the Radio Times listed even Episode One as Invasion of the Dinosaurs!!!
Jeeze between the episodes out of order and this little mishap, I wish youtube just had a little feature to re-upload. That way I could fix these errors. I don't want to have to create a whole new entry. Hopefully my Tom Baker intro package is not plagued with these sorts of things. Also, expect a Peter Davidson collection to come up soon as well (that should be a bit easier to compile. ;p)
Don't worry; I've checked the order you've put Tom Baker's episodes in against Wikipedia's list of Doctor Who serials, and everything is 100% correct.
Oh yeah.. I triple checked to make sure I got those in the correct order. I didn't know if there were other little nuances I may have screwed up on, such as the "invasion" issue that this one had. I was thinking about showing the 2 different "The Ark in Space" intros that I saw (the one on the DVD was different than the one I had a copy of,) but the idea was vetoed (obviously.)
im sure when invasion of the dinosaurs is released , they will have a cgi version that just adds the "of the dinosaurs" bit to the title. but the original should be kept for orignal purposes
Yeah.. my video editor does a thing where it will throw the video you just added to the 2nd to last of all your files, so I guess I forgot to move that one. I hate when I forget to double check my work. After you've gone through about 20 videos you start to slack a bit.
I also just posted all of Tom Baker's openings. I made sure to get those in correct order.
have you done all 1st doctor titels

How come some Pertwee sequences have the Troughton theme?
ButlerHarperBlakey 3 years ago 2
!n 1967 when they made troughtons theme they decided that they werent going to change the music. But both themes used Troughtons.

Very good! Although, maybe you should have either put Invasion of the Dinosaurs after Invasion or INSTEAD of Invasion.

Well, it's not a difference in title, just in title sequence, so I wouldn't include the brown alternative if I was making this video.

Nice work indeed! As something to consider, you've got 'Claws of Axos' and 'Colony in Space' round the wrong way.
