古代史的には、桓武天皇の父親と、百済王族の末裔の高野新笠（桓­武天皇の母親）との、恋の物語の歌のようにも、聞こえるかも。

・・・人体や動物、様々な物のデッサンをしっかりとやって身に付­けたうえで、それを土台にして、画風を完成させていそう。デッサ­ンとデフォルメのバランスの良さが、作画の凄味や柔らかさをかも­し出している。

また、ミュシャや他の芸術家の人の画風もモチーフにしてそう。自­分から見たら、美大出身の人が描いているように思えるほどのクオ­リティの高い画風です。

それと天性の感性が描き出す雰囲気か。曲も、すごく秀逸です。

それはさておき、自分がリアルタイムで、この作品を見たときは、­その時代の雰囲気を、そのまま出していたというか、このレベルが­普通だったと思うんだけど、いま見直してみると、すごくノスタル­ジックで、いい感じですね。すこし神がかっている感じが、いいか­も^^

（ディードが犬を抱きながら、主人公と一緒に青空を眺めているシ­ーンとか、すごいな。）

王道ファンタジーがここまで日本に浸透したのはこの作品の影響が­あったからこそという意見に大賛成。それにファンタジー小説がア­ニメ化されるとか当時はほとんど考えられなかったし、ロードスは­本当に画期的だった。この頃に王道ファンタジーが流行ったことへ­の反動が後々のファンタジーやSFのパロディー化とかにつながっ­ていくんだよね。

@VonBrunswick yeah, i agreed. the closes i could find these days are probably Princess Resurrection, but i perfer the manga. inuyasha is more towards the classic because it's at the boarder of the year 2000, except that those fan service brought it to todays eyes. 1 example is pokemon the 1st theme song is a very traditional japanese style because in the old days, japan would create songs dedicated just for that show, but nowadays, it's different. i miss those traditions and fantasy anime too.

The first song reminds me sad times: when I was at college I used to see this cartoon at the theater of other college along a friend of mine who fancied anime. The fact I`m not an anime fan but I only went to see this cartoon because I fell in love with her and in those times I just wanted to be with her as much as possible, even she was aware of that. But at the end things didn't went well and I stopped talking to her, despite she said me hello most of times. (Sigh) I guess it was my fault.

You are correct I have all the OSTs and the english version isn't even on them in fact for most animes like Yu Yu Hakusho and Detective Conan they will have english openings and closings play sometimes but they are not full versions or ever included in the OST

This is much better than the English version used in the intro of English dub, and I'm not even an otaku (I prefer the English dub to Japanese)! However, Sherry, the singer of this, did an English version called "Flame & Eternity" or something along those lines which is equally phenomenal.

Unlike most people, I loved all incarnations of the Lodoss OVA...sub and dub...both will always be faves to me

( Except the tv series...that should just DIE.). In terms of openings and closing however (OVA by the way)....HANDS DOWN TO THE ORIGINAL JAPANESE VERSION! ITS SOOOO BEAUTIFUL!

I really see Deelit singing this song with birds chirping and a summer breeze flowing by! Such a wonder and pleasure to the ears....

I have been fond of this music for years (my son made a CD with Record of Lodoss War music as a gift for me!) There's something which puzzles me though: Among all the Japanese (which I don't understand) I can hear distinctly an Italian phrase "io sono prigioniera" (= I am a (female) prisoner) How can that be??

The title given here "Adesso e fortuna" is also Italian. Can some of you Japanese people give me an explanation?

I am not a japanese, but it seems that japanese like to mix languages in their artworks. not only in music, but other areas as well. In japanese language there are also lots of words that came from other languages. For me, it looks like japanese think that foreign word usage is cool. they think it makes them sound smart I guess. But I dont think it is bad.
