  • good music doesn't become dated.

  • Doesn't the lead singer sound like Morrissey?? Great tune btw....

  • pause at 3:55

  • happy, upbeat i wanna dance mommadonna

  • I bet theres an endless amount of weird gems on youtube just like this

  • @Disposition446 "I bet theres an endless amount of weird gems on youtube just like this"

    YES YOU ARE RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you like somewhat obscure quality 80's music from the new wave period, I recommend all the young people (who are into this music) to get your hands on a copy of the Trouser Press record guide. When I was a kid in the 80's I discovered all these fantastic bands reading through this book! I think it's out of print but I still have mine!

  • i love this song - and I'm 18 months old!

  • wonderful!

  • I CAN DIE HAPPILY NOW

  • I was looking for aztec civilization.. but this will do. Go Internet!

  • This whole song is generic. Generic beats and guitar riffs. This is great stuff for the 9-12 yr olds.

  • @PumpkinPuffer Whats wrong with generic?

  • Roddy has the David Bowe thing goign in this video. He is quite truly under rated. But, then again, I'm just a sucker for Brit music.

  • ¡Que grata sorpresa! ¡Que sutil y coqueta levantada de cejas! Los 80s Still on Fire. Una canción inolvidable, un recuerdo feliz, un video precioso. Donde estén, gracias.

  • God...I`m ready to go now....I never thought I`d see this video again. I`m happy.

  • Red pants! were excellent choice in the mid 80's if you were there.

  • Red pants was a poor choice.

  • At the time I thought this was so naff. But as the years go by...it's just brilliant!

  • Love this song dearly, but everytime I see this I always think Roddy looks like a lass I used to go out with, must be the eye-liner, but an incredible talent, regardless!

  • Joder que recuerdos.

  • Saw them twice in Toronto...he's so talented, had several guitars that he interchanged to perform various tracks and is ever so sweet!!!

  • Is it just me, or does anyone else recall this track being used when Fashion Television first began airing...it was used as the intro?? Or am I just imagining things?

  • This is really good! Saw them soo long ago backing Elvis Costello.

  • Roddy's Thin White Duke look

  • Early Aztec Camera was unlike anything else ever made, though I always think of The Smiths & Duran Duran when I listen to songs like this & my favorite Aztec Camera song; "Walk out to Winter". Such brilliant pop music. On a final note; Roddy Frame has such a great voice & a knack for great song writing: he just knows what notes will harmonize & compliment the melody of the music & his vocal arrangements are unpredictable. Great stuff!!!

  • Mark Knopfler producing this! What a legend xx

  • The sound of young Scotland! In heavy eye shadow! hip swivelingly catchy stuff!

  • eeee GADS Will ya look a the clothing? Sheesh. And Roddy Frame is too damned talented..... well.... such is the 80s.... awesome song.

  • Estimated friend, if you want to listen again this song and an endless number of successes of the love I suggest you to visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - looks for his direction URL in Google ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. best romantic music of all the times in Internet, is great, is very good ...!!!

  • I like some of their songs, I even saw them steal a show from Elvis Costello.....(Elivis, you really wanked when you added that horn section in your feeble attempt to go POP!). Anyway, yeah, this lead singer reminds me of a pretty girlfriend I once had....just sayn.

  • Huge classic!

  • the ppl who say there 80s where great, and they where but they where already working in a 9-5 job in the 90s so they dont know what happen, there are great bands and great music in the 90s, its just diff from this, actually i like some music from the 80s but this is totally gay, for me

  • Didn't Mark Knofler produce this??

  • @beltane3 - sure did! he produced the 'Knife' album

  • @beltane3 uhhmm.. how do i go about saying this. It was actually my ballsack that produced this.

  • Ha ha :D Damn Roddie's so pretty! The 80's is such a confusing era. Love this song. ♥

  • this singer has a great voice!

  • I still have the cassette tape of this album that I bought when it first came out. It was love at first listening. I am still a huge fan of Roddy Frame.

  • boy wonder roddy frame....the glory years of music the 70's,and the mid 80's were...

  • warning: shocking red pants

  • I love the cartoon portions of the video--simple but subtle, very appropriate for the song

  • SO WHEN'S THE REUNION TOUR ?

  • @kink66 There is really no need for a reunion tour Aztec Camera was pretty much Roddy Frame and fluxuated lineups quite frequently with Frame being the constant so you could probably just go see Roddy Frame live and he probably(hopefully)play some Aztec Camera stuff as well as his great solo stuff!!!

  • @Ramblebar The line-ups for "High Land Hard Rain" and "Knife" are best. The others don't have the same magic.

  • red trousers. what WAS he thinking? nice song. :-)

  • Who has a cooler voice than Roddy Frame??? Probably nobody.

  • MARIconazos

  • reminds me a little of "its a miracle" of culture club

  • Percussionist Frank Ricotti doesnt appear on this video.Hes great!

  • Malcolm Rulesss!!!

  • + Uma Obra prima dos anos 80

  • Aztec Camera(Roddy Frame) is amazing. Roddy Frame deserved more than what he got. Knife is a masterpiece still waiting to be discovered by some people.

  • blue eye shadow. nice.

  • The entire Knife album was great, especially with Mark Knopfler's guitar in there too.

  • GREAT LYRICS

  • Consensus here is that the the sound and lyrics are not dated at all. They are great.

But... that shade of lipstick... those pants....

  • ...the orange hair???

  • I thought the hair was still in fashion.

    Somewhere?.... Anywhere?...

    ...Ok, you may be right.

  • Love that guitar intro.....

  • it's look like enjoy the silence of depeche mode

  • Not dated at all, fantastic band..

  • @bestyleeds agreed, but the trousers are definitely dated.

  • @bestyleeds not dated? LMFAO... clean your ears out friend.. this has 1980 written all over it.

  • @skipstah70 i find it a bit hard to pick years... been doin a huge music research assignment lately n i dont think anything new's been released since '85

  • They dont sound dated to me at all- and Im 16!

  • Good on ya mate, im 21 and i love this

  • @jsam93 Same here!! I'm 15 hehe gosh i wish I could go back to that wonderful era of music so very much!

  • @jsam93 When I was 16 in the 80's I was obsessed with this band. Glad to know there are 16 yr olds today liking them like I did back then!

  • Nananan its totally not dated. Only because you miss the totally overdone noise sounds u here today so u cant even hear them siing? No this is perfect this sound.

  • This is a fresh semi-acoustic song that I used to play early in the morning as part of my wake-up musical routine. Roddy Frame is one of the most underrated songwriters of his generation. Thanks for sharing this wonderful video.

  • I like the way Roddy fiddles with the rythm chords!

  • It boggles my mind that this song never charted in the UK. I can't imagine a more joyous single!

  • One of their best songs!!!!!

  • lol my lecturer at college is the bassist in that band :P

  • lecturer about what subject?

  • i became an instant aztec fan when i heard this tune...lookin back, music then was definitely better than todays,,actually a no contest..

  • yeahhhhh

    good decade

    happy people and good music

  • Aztec Camera and Lotus Eaters are two of the most underrated 80s bands. Love their songs! 80s Rock!

  • yessssssssss

but id like add to china-crisis...

  • AVE OCHENTAS!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • great song,happy people

  • the lead singer reminds me of Jude Law!!

  • Wow, I forgot all about'Aztec Camera'I used to listen to there music back in the 80's when I was the only one in the whole school who knew there music. What can I say I always had a great tast in music. LOL

Thanks so much for posting this! Defently will be added to my favourite.

  • Did that school teach spelling and grammar? HEEEYOOO! ZZZZZZZZING!

  • No she didn't ,thanks for your comment!

  • Knife was/is/remains a great album. I think I was either in the 9th or 10th grade and listening to it today still blows me away.

  • I actually ordered "Knife" just the other day - am expecting to get it in the mail. For some reason it's hard to find Aztec Camera's stuff in stores - can't wait to finally have the album.

    Great band.

  • Knife was one of the harder ones to find in the shops. It's still one of my favourites, even more than High Land, Hard Rain. Just a solid work from start to finish.

  • Love.

  • Roddy Frameは若かった!そして私も若かったwアズテックカメラの曲は癒されます。まさかupされてるなんて‥さすが、you tube!

  • AMAZING!!! jus got into aztec camera, thanx 4 this video, so gooood!!! 5 stars

  • great song, but pink eyeshadow isn't very "in"... was it ever?

  • Brilliant! I had forgotten how clever this music is. Great musicianship, smart lyrics... Roddy Frame is the Donald Fagen of his time.

  • この曲のPV大好きなんです!!前にUPされたんだけど、いつのまにか消されちゃってたので、こうしてまた見ることが出来て凄く嬉しいっす!!

    Thank you so much!!

  • Aztec Camera ROCKS

  • So true...
