I think your rice is perfect!! I made this last night and my family loved it! My best friend in the entire world is Mexican, and her family puts peas in it too! She said mine was really good, I had to take her a bowl. Thaks for posting this recipe. :)
MY GOD ! PEAS!!!! OH NOOOOO , U MENTIONED IT GIVES IT COLOR , THEN U SHOULD HAVE USED GREEN BELL PEPPER, THAT IS WHAT U USE NOT PEAS, AND IT LOOKS STICKY , NO,NO SORRY NOT HOW IT IS MADE
Hi there Tammy, I'm so glad you watched my video. Grandma Reyes will always be just a click away. Stephanie and I are friends on Facebook. Got to see pictures of your beautiful grand daughters.
For me, once the rice is almost browned I add chopped red and white onion and chopped green and red peppers, then I add the stock and tomatoes sauce and start to simmer, then on the side I cooked 1/2 pound of bacon to crisp and cook up a couple of pounds of lean ground beef, when the rice is almost done I stir the bacon and the ground beef in, let it simmer with the lid on for another 5 minutes, then let it sit for 20 minutes and then stir and serve with a side of salsa, tortilla chips and beer!
@mysweeteventhorizon MMMM that sound delicious. That definitely is a main dish rather than a side dish. You should make a video of yourself making it.
The chicken bullion is essentially chicken flavored salt and tomato if you check the main ingredients. Good rice recipe but would substitute Real homemade chicken stock instead of chicken flavored sodium.
This recipe looks great, I cant wait to try it! ( I happen to like the peas in my rice )
Can you please do a video on refried beans? Ive been trying to find a good authentic recipe for refried beans. Preferably something I can use the slow cooker with so I can just set it and let it cook. (asking too much?)
I know theres other refried bean videos out there, but Id like to see how you make them. :)
@porn1978 I agree with you. Although I like peas, I don't like them in my rice. My husband likes them like that so occasionally I put them in. Thanks for commenting
Thank you for sharing your recipe... I make arroz all of the time, but I do it a little different. But Its all still the same at the same time... What most people dont understand is that you have to brown the rice first, thats the secret to making PROPER arroz....
such a nice video! thank you . and i really like your stove and kitchen from what i can see. my mom used to make this all the time for us. her mexican friend taught her - she would put diced jalepenos in it
That looked delicious! Thank you so much for sharing. My husband absolutely loves Mexican food so I will definitely try this recipe for him. Actually our best friends are a half Spanish family so I may surprise them with a "new dish" too. LOL
BTW, did you add a can of sweet peas in there as well? I saw that when it was done there were peas in your pot.

@rosettegarbanz ....My girlfriend loves peas. I would set aside a small pot for myself without the peas.
