@21boxhead Thats how CPU frequency records are always attempted. One core is run at 4 or 5GHz usually, the other core is ran at maximum and that is the one used for the score. It may seem misleading if you aren't familiar with how it works, but disabling extra cores for CPU-Z is standard practice. They weren't trying to get away with anything - the only point is the absolute maximum frequency you can achieve. If they did anything else with the frequency that high, it would crash.
In October 2006, a Transmeta lawsuit was filed against Intel for patent infringement on computer architecture and power efficiency technologies.[144] The lawsuit was settled in October 2007, with Intel agreeing to pay US$150 million initially and US$20 million per year for the next five years
@julianbautista87 OK but wrong section go to illegal business practices by intel section and take your P.A. out of here no one is reading it, I read first few words and skipped because its cut and paste news now go.
In November 2009, following a two year investigation, New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo sued Intel, accusing them of bribery and coercion, claiming that Intel bribed computer makers to buy more of their chips than those of their rivals, and threatened to withdraw these payments if the computer makers were perceived as working too closely with its competitors.
In June 2008, the Fair Trade Commission ordered Intel to pay a fine of US$25.5 million for taking advantage of its dominant position to offer incentives to major Korean PC manufacturers on the condition of not buying products from AMD.
AMD is the most badass company ever... Their very entry into chipmaking was badass... "You won't give us x86, We'll take it!!!" (and thus they were born), and now this punch to the face of Intel right when they start to kick off their developer summit. I'm not pretending AMD makes better preforming chips than the boys in blue, but man, this is badass.....
@doesntstand4anything Sorry for terrible video quality - blame the HTC Incredible. The number of pictures and video I took earlier in the day sapped my 720P camera, and I had unknowingly left my backup on the kitchen table. Rookie Fail. :)
That is fog from the liquid Helium being pumped into the cooling container - it boils/evaporates violently. If you view the article on the Overclockers site, it describes what is going on in more detail!
