My dog, Rakker, died yesterday. She suffered a heart attack. She was with me for 14 years. We basically grew up together. She was my best friend. I can't stop crying. I will miss her so much!
My wife and I had to say goodbye to our great little Italian Greyhound, Vinnie at 3:30am on 1/21/2012. He slipped away peacefully on our bedroom floor with us by his side. My life has been amazing having him as a part of it. I know he's in heaven playing with his sisters Bo & Kelsie. I'll always think of you and love you Vin. You were my pointed nose little guy!
I'm 35 years old and this made me cry I wont lie! Made me remember my dog Samson my collie I had for 10 years. We brought him home as a 6 week old puppy in the spring of 1989 and he died in the spring of 1999. I never could bring myself to get another dog he was my friend my sidekick always there with tail wagging. He was more loyal to me then any human ever was and the day he died I fell to my knees and cried just as if he was my child. I'm so thankful for the 10 glorious years I had with him..

my husband and I lost our beloved pet mojo today, we only had him 8 months, he was 10 months old we saved him when he was abandoned at the vet clinic I work at, he had parvo. He ate a stuffed toy whole on new years eve, it got stuck in his intestines, we di everything we could to save him. He lost 63 inches of his intestines. The place where we fixed in came undone, and we did surgery again today and he didnt make it out of recovery. We did all we could to save him. He touched our heart.
It's one year to this date (5th Jan) that my dog had to be put down. It doesn't seem like 12 months since I last saw her, time's gone so quick. My family & I were gutted when she died but we all tried to take comfort in the fact that we'd given her a great life for the time she was with us & we always spoilt her because she was a good dog, & she deserved it. I lost my maltese named Jake on December 11th of 2011 due to a liver disease he was born with. We had to put him down because of his suffering. He only lived to be 4 years old. My best friend Kitty ("Katytė" in my language)died on this Christmas while severly fighting for her life until she suffocated(because of a virus that attacked her lungs and throat).She got sick and it took only one week for the illness to become deadly.I feel great sorrow because she was really fighting and wanted to live,also she was incredibly young-only 3years old!Her sudden illness and death was so unexpected for me that I still cannot believe it.I can't believe in God after this.
It's almost 12 months since my beautiful dog had to be put down because of a back injury that couldn't be cured, quite common in her breed apparently (she was a staffy).. but listening to this song still puts tears in my eyes as it's what I listened to to make me feel better when she died. today in new years eve i was looking 4 a dog named gordo which i met about a few days ago and i gained a huge connection with him. i was looking for him with my best friend when we saw him randomly run passed us and got hit by a car.i was shocked to death when isaw him straight up get hit by a car. luckily he survived but when he got up he ran away quickly . i went looking 4 him about 3 blocks away on a bike but couldnt find him.... and now im here waiting 4 gordo to come back. i hope hes okay:(

Sunday 4th Dec we rescued a puppy @the garbage. Ticks & fleas could be the reason why he was dumped. Chico (as we named him), was the sweetest & behaved I ever had he gets along with my 3 cats. Sadly 16th Dec (2011) he died. 2 weeks is like 2 yrs together dying on my hands, i saw how he fight for his life brought me pain. I lost my 10 lb, lion hearted chiweenie today, as he suddenly sped up a hill on to the pavenment as a truck passed by, believing, as always that he was defending his family and property. he was only 6 and I held him for 2 hours after the accident hoping he was still alive, he felt so warm still...but it soon became obvious that he was gone. i am devastated. we live in the country and few vehicles ever go by,. he never went in to the street before, I will never get over this, as long as I live.
My pet cat died yesterday afternoon. It was September 25th, 2011. Words cannot express the joy that he brought me through the years. 18 years of playful meows, and loving purrs. Although he lived a good life, I feel so empty inside. The end had been near for some time. I tried to prepare myself. However, death can never truly be anticipated. My dog was hit by a car on a walk, we were crossing the street in my wheelchair. I just had a stroke and couldnt pull him back in time, she was going to fast and didnt stop. He broke his pelvic bone, he had surgery but died five days later.

Omg i remember when I just all of a sudden lost my dog last june at the age of 6 due to autoimmunediease and she was fine all that time till the last day when i was home by myself with her and my mom was at work i called my mom crying the hell out my self because she wasnt walking or anything she seemed fine that night tho and i was just so happy to see her walking but the next morning we lost her just half an hour after we got to the vets in the backroom

My dog Mickey died back in January after developing several large fibromas, at the age of 13. I lost my dog on Aug 18 2010. He was with me for 13 and 1/2 years. I miss him so much. He was a Aussie named Thunder and everyday he made me laugh. The day he die the last words I said to him were 'I love you" and i still do. Now I have a new dog a American bulldog named Marmaduke. He will never replace Thunder, but he has replaced the void that he left behind .And no dog will replace Marmaduke when he dies, but they all become a part of the family.

You know, some weeks after Iron died, I still can't get used to him not being where he used to be, like getting back home and seeing him as I opened the door or when he came and barked at me when I went for a coffee; but only the good memories remain, since most of them were good memories. That makes it somehow easier. I miss him all the same, but smile whenever i remember him.
My dogs name is Baxter. He is only4. He is such a good friend and companion to me. I don't know what I'd do without him. He sleeps with me each night and he knows when I'm upset or hurting. After my 2 little guys died, I didn't believe it possible to feel the love again, My little 3 legged Jack Russell cross has given me my life back and, in return, I have have given him a life.... He was with us nearly 18 years and just didn't have any more strength to go any further. In his last few days I saw it in his eyes and finally told him that it was okay to go. My wife and I had to say goodbye to our great little Italian Greyhound, Vinnie at 3:30am on 1/21/2012. He slipped away peacefully on our bedroom floor with us by his side. I'm 35 years old and this made me cry I wont lie! Made me remember my dog Samson my collie I had for 10 years. We brought him home as a 6 week old puppy in the spring of 1989 and he died in the spring of 1999. I never could bring myself to get another dog he was my friend my sidekick always there with tail wagging. my husband and I lost our beloved pet mojo today, we only had him 8 months, he was 10 months old we saved him when he was abandoned at the vet clinic I work at, he had parvo. He ate a stuffed toy whole on new years eve, it got stuck in his intestines, we di everything we could to save him. He lost 63 inches of his intestines. The place where we fixed in came undone, and we did surgery again today and he didnt make it out of recovery. We did all we could to save him. He touched our heart.

It's one year to this date (5th Jan) that my dog had to be put down. It doesn't seem like 12 months since I last saw her, time's gone so quick. My family & I were gutted when she died but we all tried to take comfort in the fact that we'd given her a great life for the time she was with us & we always spoilt her because she was a good dog, & she deserved it. I lost my maltese named Jake on December 11th of 2011 due to a liver disease he was born with. We had to put him down because of his suffering. He only lived to be 4 years old. I miss him more and more each day. I really wish I could just see his face or hear him bark once more. He was my best friend and I'll never forget him. I really hope I see him again someday.

My best friend Kitty ("Katytė" in my language)died on this Christmas while severly fighting for her life until she suffocated(because of a virus that attacked her lungs and throat).She got sick and it took only one week for the illness to become deadly.I feel great sorrow because she was really fighting and wanted to live,also she was incredibly young-only 3years old!Her sudden illness and death was so unexpected for me that I still cannot believe it.I can't believe in God after this.

It's almost 12 months since my beautiful dog had to be put down because of a back injury that couldn't be cured, quite common in her breed apparently (she was a staffy).. but listening to this song still puts tears in my eyes as it's what I listened to to make me feel better when she died. today in new years eve i was looking 4 a dog named gordo which i met about a few days ago and i gained a huge connection with him. i was looking for him with my best friend when we saw him randomly run passed us and got hit by a car.i was shocked to death when isaw him straight up get hit by a car. luckily he survived but when he got up he ran away quickly . i went looking 4 him about 3 blocks away on a bike but couldnt find him.... and now im here waiting 4 gordo to come back. i hope hes okay:(

Sunday 4th Dec we rescued a puppy @the garbage. Ticks & fleas could be the reason why he was dumped. Chico (as we named him), was the sweetest & behaved I ever had he gets along with my 3 cats. Sadly 16th Dec (2011) he died. 2 weeks is like 2 yrs together dying on my hands, i saw how he fight for his life brought me pain. As said on the song remember me but dont grieve for long but I cant promise that til I found same as him. Sleep now my sweet precious angel Chico. I love u & will miss u much!

I lost my 10 lb, lion hearted chiweenie today, as he suddenly sped up a hill on to the pavenment as a truck passed by, believing, as always that he was defending his family and property. he was only 6 and I held him for 2 hours after the accident hoping he was still alive, he felt so warm still...but it soon became obvious that he was gone. i am devastated. we live in the country and few vehicles ever go by,. he never went in to the street before, I will never get over this, as long as I live.

My pet cat died yesterday afternoon. It was September 25th, 2011. Words cannot express the joy that he brought me through the years. 18 years of playful meows, and loving purrs. Although he lived a good life, I feel so empty inside. The end had been near for some time. I tried to prepare myself. However, death can never truly be anticipated. My dog was hit by a car on a walk, we were crossing the street in my wheelchair. I just had a stroke and couldnt pull him back in time, she was going to fast and didnt stop. He broke his pelvic bone, he had surgery but died five days later.
I am trying to raise money for his vet bills.

It has been 1 year since my little pup died... he was 15 years old...Every time I dream with him I wake up crying before I could even touch his head once again... I loved him so much... He growed up with me... Whenever I see somebody playing with his pet, tears just roll through my face... I'll never stop mourning him.. He was little pup.. Omg i remember when I just all of a sudden lost my dog last june at the age of 6 due to autoimmunediease and she was fine all that time till the last day when i was home by myself with her and my mom was at work i called my mom crying the hell out my self because she wasnt walking or anything she seemed fine that night tho and i was just so happy to see her walking but the next morning we lost her just half an hour after we got to the vets in the backroom

My dog Mickey died back in January after developing several large fibromas, at the age of 13. She was energetic and happy until the last couple of days, and went so suddenly that we couldn't get her to the vet in time to have her euthanized. I still remember her last couple of hours. In his last dying moments, my rabbit was clearly terrified, dying of pneumonia, went crazy, puss coming out of it's eyes.
I have a very hard time dealing with the amount of suffering an animal can go through. We can go through. It has torn my heart out. The concept of life and death at these moments can make you question many things. But somehow we get through them... at least I hope.

My cat named Ginger my baby girl who was with me ever since 2001, almost 10 yrs, passed away Saturday April 2nd shortly before 8:30 in the morning.
I was up all night with her , she was so weak, so underweight, just getting sicker and sicker, she refused her water, and wouldn't eat no more, I watched her take her last few breaths, and then she was gone, I feel that in a way im responsible.

I lost my dog on Aug 18 2010. He was with me for 13 and 1/2 years. I miss him so much. He was a Aussie named Thunder and everyday he made me laugh. The day he die the last words I said to him were 'I love you" and i still do. Now I have a new dog a American bulldog named Marmaduke. He will never replace Thunder, but he has replaced the void that he left behind .And no dog will replace Marmaduke when he dies, but they all become a part of the family.

I can just picture my dog telling me this.. and I can't help but cry. It's been almost a year since she was put down and I still miss her so much.. For the longest time I felt bad when we got a new puppy. I know she wouldn't have been upset about it.. No one will ever replace Casey. My new pup has her own speical place in my heart. Still strongly miss my pup tho.. :c

@ElledieWildAndFree Hi my sisters dog max (a golden retrevier) died 4 weeks ago, it broke my heart let alone hers. She got another one, his name is jake. What i'm saying is get another dog, he/she will never replace your charlie but it will help. My boxer called duchess is class, when she does go i will feel the same way as you do, but as i said before we will see our pets again........good luck Andy

@Dancer4ever2431 I really hope boots gets better, its hard to see a friend suffer, be it human or animal. You know, some weeks after Iron died, I still can't get used to him not being where he used to be, like getting back home and seeing him as I opened the door or when he came and barked at me when I went for a coffee; but only the good memories remain, since most of them were good memories. That makes it somehow easier. I miss him all the same, but smile whenever i remember him.

My dogs name is Baxter. He is only4. He is such a good friend and companion to me. I don't know what I'd do without him. He sleeps with me each night and he knows when I'm upset or hurting. I love it how he greets me when I come home. Over the years I've buried so many and it never gets any easier. Just thinking about it I've got a lump the size of a basketball in my throat.

@KillBloodRaven sorry to hear that. i watch this video and cry every time because i had to give my cat Sassy to a friend and haven't heard from her since, so i don't know if she is still alive. not to mention my past pets. i hope Iron rests in peace.

Do yourself a favour and a favour for an unwanted pup. Check with the rescue agencies in your State and consider adopting a disabled dog. After my 2 little guys died, I didn't believe it possible to feel the love again, My little 3 legged Jack Russell cross has given me my life back and, in return, I have have given him a life.... Think about it!!!

Yesterday my brother decided to take my dog silla that we got is Wasilla Alaska she was a husky when my brother took her for a walk he decided to let her run around a bit shit caught eye of a rabbit and ran after it a car hit her and she died instantly i was in my room when my brother ran in telling me shes been hit by a car i never knew that was going to be the last time ive ever seen here the driver thought she was a coyote and never stopped but im glad the last moment i had was a good one RIP

The comments posted in this really made me cry a lot but at the same time let me know that it was okay to let go of our beloved Turbo. He was with us nearly 18 years and just didn't have any more strength to go any further. In his last few days I saw it in his eyes and finally told him that it was okay to go. I will miss him tremendously and somehow I would learn to move on without him around. He was an amazing cat and we will love and miss him forever. R.I.P. Turbo 3/93 - 1/6/2011

My dog died on Friday he's was only 7 months old he was a cocker spaniel called mack I don't know if I could ever get a new dog because whenever I'm alone or looking at a picture of him I get sad
Atleast the person who knocked him down came in and told my mam so I could hold him his pelvis was smashed and he couldn't move his back legs he died
My whole family is sad especially my little brother
We never got to do alot of things together but I will never forget him

Last year in October we had to put down the sweetest most devoted dog. She was a yorkshire terrier, and Harmony is missed more than the world. My mom got a new dog 6 months later. His name is Pax, and in some ways, he is like her.
Well anyways, cherish your memories, remember the past, never look back but never forget! An animals love is for eternity!

12/21/10. After cuddling with my little yorkie my mom let her outside to use the bathroom. I never thought that'd be the last time i'd have her in my arms alive. 20 minutes later our neighbor came up to us and i over heard my parents talking that my dog has been hit by a vehicle. I ran out as fast as i could and I held her but she was gone. I won't forget you Maxie. I love you baby girl.

i def cried watching this video, i recently lost a dog two days before thanksgiving, and none of us could get into the spirit and we are still trying to get used to him being gone, all the little stuff he would do, we're expecting it but he's not here to do it anymore, we are still grieving and we miss him so much. this video def touched my heart...RIP Monnkey, we miss you and love you always...

On Tuesday I went to Chicago for my band trip and came back yesterday. We had a really hectic schedule, so I just went upstairs and fell asleep...when I woke up my parents told me our dog died last night. And I didn't even get to see him...just a few weeks ago he was running around beside me looking so happy, and now he's gone and I didn't get to say goodbye. He was a golden retriever at least twelve years old. We had him for half of my 16 years, and I've never felt so heartbroken and empty...

i miss my JRT. she was my baby and she died when i was only 8 or 9. her name was Princess. i have a new dog now named Harlie. shes a female. now that im 14 im feeling a little better about it but sometimes i wish all of this was a dream and i would wake up to both Princess, Harlie, and my oldest dog Penny. but unfortunately this is realtiy and i have to live through it whether i like it or not.

this made me bawl :'( i miss my little pet. its kinda interesting though cuz the Bible says- with God, the worst thing is never the last. we say goodbye to our pet, everyone we love support us and maybe we find a new little friend. people dont want to grow old but then we go to heaven and see our friends and family once again
