@catalae17 the texture of your hair is also determined by your genetics if your hair is baby fine it will probably have a high turn-over rate. I've heard some people say vitamins can help with that but I think it's still mostly determined by your genetics.
@catalae17 I don't have any personal experience with vitamins myself so you might have to do some research on them but my personal suggestion is to consult a doctor first
I used to not have any issues with people saying "You should donate your hair to Locks of Love!" but now it seems I do, there's this one girl behind me in my math class who likes to point out that my hair is plenty long to donate -.- I used to not understand what you meant by having people saying they thought you should donate your hair (though I guess I can see why they'd say that since its gorgeous) I feel like people should assume that if your hair is long its because you want it that way!
@laquera640 I think people assume we've just never heard of the organization before because why else wouldn't we have gotten rid of it by now? Locks of love isn't a very good charity when my friends donate hair I tell them to give the hair to wigs for kids or the pantine hair charity. Personally I prefer to donate money to pay for finding a cure or covering the cost of treatments something that might actually save a life, hair seems like the least you can do.
@ThePinkLadyJ yeah in 4th grade I donated my hair, but as a 4th grader there isn't much else you can do haha, but I agree its better to donate for a cure than to make wigs for people to feel more comfortable inn society. Not that that isn't important, it just shouldn't be on the forefront of everyone's mind.

so you say that your hair is at termainal length.... does that mean that some people can have shoulder length hair and never be able to grow it out to classic length??!! if their terminal length is to their shoulders??! if it is...THAT SAD AND NOT FAIR!
@QW5ub255bW91cw Terminal length is when your hair hasn't budget passed a certain point for years. If you trim it it might grow back but just up to that point & never beyond it. That's how my hair is. It's been the same length since I was 19 and I'm 27 now. My father's terminal length is at his waist and my mothers terminal length was at the small of her back. Your terminal length is determined by your genetics and some people can get the "short" end of the stick and some people can grow forever
you should get some blonde highlights put through, it looks like your hair in perfect condition, that would look nice, maybe you should get some sort of style 'bounce' but still keep the length? xoxo

@livrox321 A bottle of shampoo & conditioner a month but I use cheap stuff like suave, vo5, white rain.
I wash my hair every day because i have a super oily scalp. I shampoo while i'm in the shower & let the conditioner soak the whole time I'm in there, rinse last. Takes only a couple minutes.
I don't curl my hair. I don't use any heating tools & I don't blow dry. I air dry. Heat damages hair.

I agree with the LoL comments. If people believe so much in the cause, have them grow out their own hair. Chances are they'll do research and not want to waste years worth of effort in vain when they realize their hair is far too processed for the cause.
@brennerdee I wear it down 95% of the time but sometimes I braid it if I'm going to be very physically active (like camping, hiking, beach, hard exercise, swimming, heavy cleaning etc). Just a comment here.. don''t get mad.. but you weren't born with long hair, and Im sure your mom and/or dad were not like "Oooo she's gonna grow her hair really long and never cut it," there was a point at which you said "I'm not going to cut my hair" that's what people want to know when they ask how long you have been growing it. As for the whole 2'' every six months things, that is very unhealthy for your hair. It grows much faster when you get it trimmed <.25'' every 6 to 8 weeks.
@lizzie2007951 Actually my mom & dad did both say they weren't going to cut my hair because they wanted me to have it long. If I had wanted it short they would have let me but I never wanted it short so they never cut it. & I was born with hair - not long but it's growth was never hindered but more than the smallest of trims. You only need to trim every 6-8 weeks if you use heat tools, dyes, etc. That is the time suggested by most salons - and what they do to hair is enough to torture anything.
I regretted cutting my hair so i see where your going with the IM NOT CUTTING MY HAIR thing........ agreed that hair is also precious........but i really wanted layers and crap so i got them and stuff, and donated the longer hair to locks of love

so you say that your hair is at termainal length.... does that mean that some people can have shoulder length hair and never be able to grow it out to classic length??!! if their terminal length is to their shoulders??! if it is...THAT SAD AND NOT FAIR!

@QW5ub255bW91cw Terminal length is when your hair hasn't budget passed a certain point for years. If you trim it it might grow back but just up to that point & never beyond it. That's how my hair is. It's been the same length since I was 19 and I'm 27 now. My father's terminal length is at his waist and my mothers terminal length was at the small of her back. Your terminal length is determined by your genetics and some people can get the "short" end of the stick and some people can grow forever

@missrandomqueen1 I don't straighten or curl my hair, or blow dry - no heat tools what-so-ever. Aside from washing it, this is literally my entire morning hair routine

if u ever wanted to curl ur hair how would that work out? would u need to buy like a jumbo curling iron or wand?

@livrox321 A bottle of shampoo & conditioner a month but I use cheap stuff like suave, vo5, white rain.
I wash my hair every day because i have a super oily scalp. I shampoo while i'm in the shower & let the conditioner soak the whole time I'm in there, rinse last. Takes only a couple minutes.
I don't curl my hair. I don't use any heating tools & I don't blow dry. I air dry. Heat damages hair.
Nope. My hair is quite healthy. I trim 2" every 6 months to keep the split ends away.

I agree with the LoL comments. If people believe so much in the cause, have them grow out their own hair. Chances are they'll do research and not want to waste years worth of effort in vain when they realize their hair is far too processed for the cause.

@brennerdee I wear it down 95% of the time but sometimes I braid it if I'm going to be very physically active (like camping, hiking, beach, hard exercise, swimming, heavy cleaning etc). I don't have many "dress up" occasions in life - I'm a casual sort of girl - but if i do might do a nice braided Chinese bun.

@hotchic144 So you're saying when you were 6 years old you had hair down to your feet? Unless you mean that length in proportion to your 6 year old body? That sounds more realistic, in which case it's not the exact length.

Just a comment here.. don''t get mad.. but you weren't born with long hair, and Im sure your mom and/or dad were not like "Oooo she's gonna grow her hair really long and never cut it," there was a point at which you said "I'm not going to cut my hair" that's what people want to know when they ask how long you have been growing it. As for the whole 2'' every six months things, that is very unhealthy for your hair. It grows much faster when you get it trimmed <.25'' every 6 to 8 weeks.

@lizzie2007951 Actually my mom & dad did both say they weren't going to cut my hair because they wanted me to have it long. If I had wanted it short they would have let me but I never wanted it short so they never cut it. & I was born with hair - not long but it's growth was never hindered but more than the smallest of trims. You only need to trim every 6-8 weeks if you use heat tools, dyes, etc. That is the time suggested by most salons - and what they do to hair is enough to torture anything.

Your hair is beautiful! I'm currently trying to grow out mine right now and I want it about as long as yours is, maybe a bit longer. If you've never heard of LHC (just google long hair community forum, it should be the first result) I think you might like it. Lots of people with really long hair and stuff.

Love your look PinkLadyJ :) My hair might be a bit longer then her's... mine grows crazy fast (less than 7 years from above shoulders) After it gets to a certain length mine got easier to brush out.

My best tips to growing long hair is to Not wash it everyday (it kills it) and brush from the bottom an work ur way up
