  • Love his teasing!! I agree; GOD what it took her not even a day and shes flirting with another man. "I'm in love with the best man in the whole world." YEAH right!! Doesn't look like it!!

  • That didn't take long, hmm Isabella?

  • You can tell while watching this narrative how Austen was compelled to create Elizabth & Darcy. When you look at the Tilney's it becomes very clear that the elder brother creates a far more interesting point of conflict than the younger one, given his pride & rudeness and we can see how the concept of a ignorant & prejudiced heroine is being hinted at here. Darcy & Elizabeth had to be given birth!

  • 3:25 don't breath too heavily, you'll fall out

  • I love how naive she is, even though she thinks she isn't. And how sweet he is to her, with gentle teasing of course :)

  • isabelle is such a liar and a cheat

  • Part 9????????????????????

  • Goodness one wrong move and her nips would've been on display! lmao What a skank! Nothing against Carey Mulligan though, she played the part very well. lol

  • She shows a lot of cleavage for a soon to be married woman. Don't you agree?

  • LOL Tilney's face @ 1:40 xD *sigh* I love JJ Feild.

  • Somebody smell a hoe? Cough.... Isabella

  • u can tell shes not a genuine person...hate her

  • haha Cathy's face at 0:38 is absolutely gorgeous :p

  • Her friends a skank. I hate girls like that.

  • suh-lut.

  • fuck you Isabella ... =.='' you mother fucking fuck fucker! fuck!

  • 1:42 TILNEYYYYY

  • I love Henry Tilney!

  • oh gawd i hate those thorpes so much x__x

  • Where's part 9?!

  • Okay Tilney's face at 1:42 hahahahahahahaha

  • @SallyT88 I know right! He's so adorable!

  • Bah I hate that Carey Mulligan plays Isabella because I hate hating her!

  • isabella at least has her boobs to her credit

  • Mr. Tilney looks like a mixture of Jude Law and Lee Pace.

  • Erm I like Isabella less and less every minute....

  • I've never seen that deleted scene before--I think it says a lot about Isabella's character, that she knows perfectly well what her brother is ("he'll say anything that comes into his head") and yet she's still pushing Catherine to marry him.

And the actor who plays Captain Tilney is so perfect. The way he sort of waggles his head when he's pleased with himself cracks me up every time I see it.

  • Whooo Hooo! We're halfway there! 8D

  • isabella is such a slut!

  • Isabella. I HATE YOU SO BAD. D<

  • "I refused him for as possibly long as I could." I timed it. Four seconds until the next dance started. lol The Captain must have walked up to her and asked and she accepted. Yeah, she was forced! lol She's glad that the Captain is interested and that's it. James can go hang if she can attract the heir of Northanger. / Also fun that Cath reads Henry's looks so well. These two are decent people. Henry knows his brother. Cath is an innocent. Henry admits his jealousy. :)

  • I love Catherine's face after Captain Tilney says, "charmed" she's disgusted with him at once! lol

  • @AVBKansas Yes! It's a kick that she gets him so immediately. And she also get what Henry is implying immediately so how come she doesn't get the Thorpes? Well, she's starting to now. I like it that Henry doesn't come right out and condemn Mr. Thorpe. I don't think Catherine realizes how much she trusts Henry. She can tell he's safe. Excellent actor who plays the Captain. I hate him all over the place! lol Seriously, it must have been powerful to be a young, rich man with "prospects."

  • General Tilney: Matchmaker. Very smooth job of handing her over to Henry! Lol!

(Why, oh why are there so few Henry Tilneys in the world!?! And why are there a bunch of useless Captain Tilneys?!!? Arrogant jerks.)

Isabella lays it on too thick with the whole "worry not, i love your dear dear (dearx1000) brother". Bloody hell, just shut the hell up hoe!)

  • Which is the name of the ball dance song?

  • This is one of my favorite Jane Austen books!! i am currently reading Udolpho-- it's quite an undertaking!! JJ fields (Mr. Tileny) is in a newish japanese vampire movie...verrry attractive in it to boot!

  • tilney's look at around 1:40 was priceless. best ever.

  • Frederick Tilney may be a bit of a jerk, but he is also attractive. (Isabella deserves him)

  • lol, despite u guys' comments i wanted to give Isabella a chance but i must say she's hoeing up to her reputation

  • Omg what a freakinq Hoe.

    & Tillney is so Hawt!

  • @AlinaTowers actually Catherine is supposed to be 18 in this version

  • Tillney! god i love the way he teases her! hes such a flirt! i want him

  • I do think I could have gotten into this a little more if they had used an older actress for Catherine. She's sweet, but I can't take 15-year-old romance very seriously.

  • isabelle really does not waste much time to upgrade, does she?

  • isabelle seems fickle.

  • follow MrsLno2 videos from part 5 to get the missing part 9

  • @skylily345 Thank you!

  • I love the look Mr. Tilney gives after she says "he's always been kind and attentive to me.." hahaha! He's sooooo cute!

  • of course she doesn't want to dance with the captain... who believes it?? she was she was starring at him without same!

  • I would just say, those Tilney boys got it going on!

  • I love his face at 1:42! It's great!

But then again.............he's great all the time!

  • where's part 9?! :(

  • Captain Tilney is a scoundrel! But I can't deny he's sex on legs :)

  • Comment removed

  • I dont blame isabella capt. tillney is hot!!!

  • Why do men like Mr. Tilney don't exist???

  • @alexandrabak awwwwwwwww, they do exist.. i have one :-) hehe.. my dear hubby :$

  • @wavokiaado aw, that's sweet! you're very lucky then! he might be one of very few!

  • Im reading this in my English Class! I love this film!

    :)

  • I think I like Captain Tilney from the 1986 version better, especially the way he was flirting with Isabella.

  • ahh waht a whore...i had "sister-in-law" like that...

  • love how isabella 'casually' mentions how captain tilney is the heir to northanger abbey...not that she's interested of course!

  • I love how Mr.Tillney looks at her soooooo cute!

  • "Has it not occurred to you that I might not be the best person to consult on the matter of Mr. Thorpe?" Oh, my!

  • pooh sleeping beatury.

  • What else has Tillney been in?????? I have 2 know!!

  • @livelongnprosper92 I think he was in Amazing Grace.

  • I Looovee Captain Tillney, He Has THis Amazing Vibe about Him.

  • OMG i never thought that i ever will say this but this film is quite better than the book :D

  • gotta love henry......gotta hate isablla

  • What happened to part 9?

  • @spiderheiress My thoughts exactly!

  • i'm a bit confused on where i am in the film. i feel that part 8 to part 9 there is a big jump. it goes from her being in carriage after the ball to her getting kicked out of her friends house. so confused

  • Oh! i hate that older brother! he is such a prick!

  • catherine is so adorable :)

when she says to tilney 'stop teasing me!'

    they're so cute together ♥

  • I'm starting to adore Henry!!! He's just the kind of guys I dream about!!!! ^-^

  • You gotta love Jane Austene! I've actually been to Bath,England. Absolutly gourous!

  • Your fiance's gone, you could at least wear a higher cut dress!

  • i love tillney's face when he's teasing her. :)

  • Why are the men wearing almost the same clothes? I know that was fashionable before but still...

I detest Isabella greatly. It's like she doesn't have any principles. She is engaged and yet she flirts with a rich guy. What a ... (nvm) O.o

  • @chesykin97 well compare it to 'posh' balls etc. nowadays: the men all wear suits, all very similar, while the women wear a wide range of colours and styles etc.

to be fair, at the time, all the women were wearing very similar dresses to dances, so :)

and might I add that I always love how catherine is dressed throughout? the costumes in general are lovely.

  • Ooohhh. The captain... is it just me or is it getting a little hot in here? Mmmmphhh!

  • "Charming" lol

  • "I'm in love with the best man in the world" sounds like she's trying to convince herself.

  • Henry Tilney is SOOOO CUTE! Or better yet, HANDSOME~! The way he teases Catherine is absolutely charming!

  • the girl who playes isaella played kitty in pride and Prejeduce 2005

  • @rachelthemoviefreak omg she did! No wonder she looks so familiar.=)

  • i feel sorry for cathys brother

she is very close to him in the book and i feel sorry for him because he was blinded by isabelas "beuty"

  • yea yea yea... "i'm in love with the best man in the whole world" whatever.. isabella.. the next thing i know you'll be having an affair with captain tilney.. bahaha..

  • isabella is a bitch

  • @geevitha Yep. Is it just me or did you notice that Isabella seems to pick up her feet and hurry back to her line rather quickly? And good actors that can get the timing so right. Isabella ducks and the Captain smirks, all within a couple of seconds. lol Isabella has a lie ready, just like her brother. It's an art form with them./ Henry must have felt ackward when his father put's C's hand into his. The general thinks he's being so clever. Had Henry not liked Catherine. .

  • PLEASE ADD PART 9!!!!!!

  • i also cannot find part 9. don't think it's there. there's only a part 9 from a different user.

  • omg i LOVE his look at 1:42 hahaha gets me every time. it's just like "bitch, please!"

  • I love Catherine dress in the ball scene. It's so pretty!

  • where is part 9 ??

  • Hi, emilyshiel. I immediately found part 9 in the "Related Videos" section, on the right hand side of my YT screen. Hope and trust you can find the same.

  • How convenient the music started exact in the same moment they entered the dancefloor and were ready to dance x)

  • did you see catherine's face on 0:37..haha 0:45-1:54... favorite part

  • Gawd, I LOVE Liam Cuinningham. But...his hair...is...hideous. LOL. Big time.

  • And I obviously can't type nor spell correctly. How sad.

  • his brother is so smug-he sure noticed Isabellas boops-their barely covered

  • "Isabellas boops"

I giggled hehe. And yes, they are barely covered. :O

  • lol-oops

  • I think that is part of jane austen film code: All villainesses must have a low cleavage. ( I probably spelled villainesses wrong so somebody please correct me).

  • thanks 4 sharing this film

  • henrys brother is crackkup lmao

  • Jane Austen is ADDICTIVE!!!!

  • yes she is..I'm reading the novels at the moment..I just feel like saying.."Indeed", "schemes", and all those words all the time..ahahaha

  • hahaha! that's exactly how i felt!!! and it slipped sometimes too.. hehe!

  • @njakbari

  • Mr Tilney's older brother reminds me of Seto Kaiba from yugioh abridged lololololololol

  • Jane Austen wrote in the early 19th century - Taylor would have been going for a Shakespearian look, which was of the late 16th, early 17th century. Although, based on the lyrics of that song, I can't think that she paid much attention to particulars.

  • hahaha blondie is such a flirt! amazing!

catherine frustrates me, she's too damn gullible. very pretty though.

  • Oh i dont know, you had very handsome men back then that would fit in very handsome today, John Constable, Arthur Wellesley and William de lancey to name a few.

  • I LOVE HENRY <3 1:42

  • ahaha..yes...his face is so funny and charming..^_^

  • what a slag.

  • Bad manners or not, Capt. is hot.

  • hoho that Isabela is a bad girl!

    HAHAHAHAHA...

She says that one is the best...but glance at another.... hum...

  • Good 'ol Isabella. You can always count on her to be a hooch!

  • a hooch. hahahaahaha

  • Omg Catherine's face when Capt. Tilbey is rude.

  • Love those 18th century dances...

  • I love Henry's smile and how he always so endearing.

  • idk cathrine reminds me of taylor swift i can't quite put my finger on it but she does:)

  • Is Miss Thorpe's 1st name Isabella? She's an ingenuine dolt.

  • This is the first time that i have ever had the chance that i have ever watch any of Jane Austen books go come to the screen and I must that they really good. i thought that there was none as good as P&P which is my favorite of them all. I particularly like P&P 1995 version better.

  • Captain Tilney in the book was described as really handsome...the actor who plays him isn't!

  • The music from the beginning of this part was used in P&P. It's funny recognising the dance music of the time in different adaptations :) LIke Mr Beveridge's Maggot was in Emma as well as P&P, though the version in P&P was much nicer.

  • i agree but i think music is reused in these different movies is because they only found a number of 'songs ' i geuss u can call them from this time period im not sure but a theory.

  • Well, I did find a CD of popular English dance music from that period, and several of the ones from these adaptations are on there, but there were many more pieces besides them on the CD too, so I don't think it's because it's hard to find original tunes from that period. I assume the ones that turn up in these adaptations turn up repeatedly because they're the most well-known ones.

  • Cant stand isabella! Is she jus interested in the money?!

  • Isabella reminds me of my friend..well ex-friend. One time she dated a guy that she hated. I told her well then why don't you break up with him? She said i'll wait till after Valentines Day, I want to see what I'll get. -.- ugh!

  • I don't know why, but unlike with the other characters, I imagined Capt. Tilney a lot different (while with the other characters it was the complete opposite!)

I imagined him with a black and a little longer hair, taller, and with green eyes..

  • I love the look she gives when Capt. Tillney says, "Charmed." Like, I hate you!

  • " i'm in love with the best man in the world"

hmmm..is she only talkin about james??? =)

    isabella is such a flirt!

  • lmao at 1:42. Such a classic look

  • also 0:39 is a hilarious look too lolol!

  • lol yeah I love that look on his face I could watch that over and over! Actually I have been watching that part over and over

  • whos playing cap. tilney?

  • I love Catherine's offended face when she meets the older brother

  • I burst out laughing in the book when isabella was like "Oh I HATE captain tilney I love James!" and then went on to flirt w/ captain tilney

  • HAHA I love how general tilney just hands catherine over to his son lol. "Excellent."

But god, Tilney's so teasing and charming, I think I'd just jump into his arms...

  • John's sister is a two-timer

  • Captain Tilney is such a smug bastard. I kinda love it.

  • Haha me too! It's so ridiculous that it's a little appealing.

  • lOl. My rival having left Bath lOl.

  • lOl. I l heart it when Mr Tilney teases her.

  • really, how?

  • haha.. hokay..

  • well... you might think about that after watching the whole movie, because it wouldn't be a real compliment for one of you! :)

  • i love tilney's very obvious and pointed looks

  • haha, I was just about to comment on that also! :P

  • lol! 0:39 she dislikes him

  • I love Tilney!!! Thanx scampostrini!!!

  • my lord she is full of shit!

  • I love the way General Tilney keeps forcing Catherine and Henry together. Neither of them are upset by it, but both are confused.

  • that gurl keep stressing how much she's in love with the brother! i dont believe her!

  • Oh my gosh that Isabella's a vapid little twit!

  • omg mr tilney is so darn sexy *drool* All his yummy scrumtiousness... and darn that lier Isabella, the little scamp :(

  • is this an extended version? i got this movie out of the library but it was missing some of the scenes i saw here. i was disapointed. could someone help me?

  • Cinnamonstix, perhaps you saw the US version. They took some scenes out, including the 'most disturbing' ones about Catherine's daydreams.

The UK version does include those scenes, and I daresay that is the version scampostrini used to bring us this lovely story.

    BTW, thanks scampostrini! :-)

  • that makes sense. thanx!

    I love this movie!

  • Henry's smile is to die for!!!!! Ahrg it gets me every time I watch this movie.

  • i know exactly what you mean.

  • Anyone notice that the music during Henry and Catherine's dance is the same as the music from one of the dance scenes in BBC's 1995 version of Pride and Prejudice?? Haha I've clearly watched P and P too many times...

  • they do that a lot one of the songs in th 95 P and P is the same as the one in emma, with gwyneth paltrow, the scene where she and mr knightley are dancing

  • LIAR LIAR PANTS ON FIRE

Isabelle/a is soo scheming and flirtacious..."I kept refusing him but he really insisted!"

    Whateverrr

  • :37-38

    Her face is priceless.

  • so funny when captain tilney says "charmed" in that bored voice! oh man i love this movie! and i love the book! it's my favorite out of all of austen's novels.
