  • Commercial transporters should shut down for a few days. Everything is impacted by oil prices. Plastic materials, elastimore, roads, buidling materials, machinery that makes the stuff. every type of transportation (land ,air, and sea) that we use . If we can do more of this "transporter shutdown" than our corporates and politicians will act quickly to do something because we are now hitting their back pockets. All I hear is buzz words.

  • Hello- this is your government speaking- We created this big problem by passing laws to restrict the free market. Now look to us to fix this problem. All we want is more money & power, sooo... just keep voting for us because we care about you.

    (suckers)

  • @mare652 lol i dont think you could have put it any better than that

  • there is 1 action we can take to make gas prices go down overnight. we need to exempt gas stations from anti-trust laws. The biggest gas station chains in america lose a shit ton of money every year from their gas sales, and make all of their money from the stuff inside on the shelves. they could sell gas for 1 doller, and balance that loss with purchases inside. we would get cheaper gas, cheaper gas means cheaper everyday shit.....exclude gas stations from anti-trust laws thats the winner

  • Fuck Obama and fuck big oil. They BOTH suck.

  • Obama wants high gas prices, he wants our standard of living to match Cuba, Greece, etc. Obama is Anti-American, a LIAR, Fraud, and Incompentent! 2012 can't come soon enough! He should be IMPEACHED if this destruction of our Country continues!

  • I see obama and the lib media blaming big oil on the gas prices. Mmmm wonder how much of those profits go to obama and his government? Also saw today that the EPA appeals panel ( 3 Liberal Democrats) turned down Shell's request to drill in Alaska. The nearest town is 70 MILES AWAY!! Let me get this straight, obama says taxing the rich can fix the deficit but opening up more oil wells WON"T help the price of gas? Liberal logic, does anyone REALLY understand it? NO, its impossible.

  • I just wanted to tell everyone about the MayDay Moratorium on gasoline purchases on May 1, 2011. This is a day on which show the oil companies that we can all band together when there are issues we can all agree on. I know that there is small chance of it lowering prices, but it is a tangible way we can express our dissatisfaction with the current gasoline prices. Forward this to everybody and let’s see what happens. May 1, 2011: Don’t buy gas on May 1, 2011.

  • Good thing Chairman Mao Bama made that two billion dollar deal with Brazil. Who could have expected the middle east to catch fire right after he shut down oil drilling in America? At least he and george Soros has the forsight to invest in petrobras early.

  • saveongassitedotcom and good luck everybody!

  • On November 8, 2012 GET YOUR ASSES OUT AND VOTE!!!

  • Obama is fumbling around with numbers in his ignorance on the issue.

"suspend the gas tax for 60 days which would save you 30 cents a day for 90 days" WHAT?

Gas tax is now $0.184/gallon. Suspending that tax would be a savings of $2.58 per fill-up of 14 gallons. He could have used the legitimate numbers showing how pointless suspending the tax would be.

Obama's energy plan blows, McCain's plan was crap also.

  • 300M "prize" = IDIOT MCCAIN.

  • Plug-in hybrids? Where do I get one of those?

  • If gas went back to $1.50 per-gallon it would only encourage more jack-asses to drive and flood the streets creating more and more traffic. Keep gas prices high, bring it up from $4.24 per-gallon to $10.69 per-gallon, that way I can ride my bike on the street not fearing lazy car driving freaks.

  • So are you Obuma lovers enjoying the fraud? He stopped our off shore drilling and offers Brazil help getting theirs out of the Atlantic, you all deserve this Ya JERKS!

  • Prepare yourself everyone OBAMA's dream of $8.00 / gal gas is on it's way!! Hurrah O man! You pathetic joke president you!

  • There's a double whammy of speculation. Crude is trade on the commodity markets. The refine fuels product are traded on the commodity markets. The mergers that where allowed should be reverse. A tax holiday is irresponsible pandering. Only will encourage more consumption & will result higher prices yet, while cutting revenue for the roadways.

  • Obama is the same as the rest of those fucking retards what the usa does effects canada thanks alot morons

  • @countryboy1534 Yea, believe me Canada is the least, and I stress least of our worries these days.

  • OK Obama. well that's your president now and gas is over $4 and your not doing shit about it. your all talk. you have no idea what the hell your doing.

  • @minator3 thats what happens when idiots vote for a no-name junior senator who didn't even grow up in this country

  • omg. no. we dont need alternatives you stupid fuckers! Just need to lower prices. Its not that hard.

  • @Paintwolf if every man would think like you..the humans would of been extinct..

  • it doesn't matter if gas reaches 100$ a gallon, the need is to find alternative fuels..for example hydrogen, 0 emissions, low price.

  • @nemilostivu We dont eeda alternatives. Thats just something people want us to thik to make money.

  • @nemilostivu im not talking about geneocide.Just need to lower gas prices. Its not a life and death situation. Its just big companies trying to make a quick buck, which is happening because noone is doing anything about it.

  • @nemilostivu Hydrogen doesn't = low price

  • man wen i was small my mom wouldnt wanna pay 99 cents for a gallon she said look there is an 89 cents a gallon i miss those days

  • Obama said gas prices would "necessarily" skyrocket. His dream is coming true...gas prices are nearly $4 a gallon in some parts of the west.

Obama and his Marxist friends should ROT IN HELL. And the MEDIA ignores it.

  • hmmm... did that nigger forget Hitler gave good speeches too... what a fuck up

  • I like how people blame Obama, like killing the EV1 and playing out to the oil companies wasn't what bush did the last 8 years.

  • $2 a GALLON! LOL Have you ANY idea what we're paying in Europe/Great Britain?

  • That $6.35 gas is mostly taxes because Sweden doesn't pay much more for their gas than most other countries do. Is Sweden doing anything with that money for the environment? No. They use it to fund their social programs.

Why shouldn't we be able to complain about gas prices rising for no reason? Just because some other socialist country rapes their citizens with high taxes does not mean Americans should accept it.

  • Comment removed

  • @beginmaster

Sweden is the size of my back yard... We Americans have to drive more.

  • and 100 days after the election back to 3.75 a gallon... how's that hope and change working out for you Obama voters.

  • Thank god is down to $1.50/gal

  • how fucking stupid are human beings my fucking gosh, mccain said he wants to invest in electric battery cars and offshore drilling which is great news but obama wants to tax oil companies.people oil companies will not be affected by gas prices it is yoooooou!!you will pay for the increase in tax, exxon wont fucking care coz u are the only asshole who will end up paying this tax.why is it so fucking hard for ppl to put aside emotions and use logic!!!

  • Oh, but emotions are so much more sincere! And logic is so cold-hearted and mean! Hahaha! No, dude, I totally agree with you. People need to stop thinking with their emotions and letting their minds rot. That's how we end up with bumper-sticker voters.

  • Americans need to stop being SO dependent on gas. The countries that sell us the gas don't like us..so that's why they raise the prices on it. In Russia, Gas is about 98 cents but they sell it to us for almost 5 fucking dollars. And since gas is a NEED, it's like they have us under control. So we shouldn't be so dependent on it. We should get those Hybrid cars. Or we could just find other ways to get to our jobs. I'm 16 and i don't have a job but yeah.. =/

  • LOL Obama is so stupid. 'Hey! Lets make the gas companies pay for peoples gas!' LMAO!!!!! Hey! Lets "tax" the universities, and then give that money to students to pay for them to go to school! The American people are so gullible.

  • Exactly!

Most Americans have no idea that Americans pay more in state and federal gas taxes than the oil companies make in profit!

That is already a "windfall profit tax".

What an idiot and his idiot supporters believe it.

  • The price of gas will continue to drop up until the election in November. This is done to sway the American voter. This false hope of lower gas prices will quickly be lost when gas reaches $6.00 + per gallon within the next two years.

  • "The price of gas will continue to drop up until the election in November."

The prices are dropping because they want to sell the oil at as high a price as possible. Some investors think that McCain may win, and they know that, if he does, they will not be able to sell their gas at the highest price. Investors are not going to sell there gas just out of the slim chance that it might make people vote differently. If Obama wins they will get even higher prices for the gas.

  • even if more oil is drilled, domestic refineries are unable to refine any more than they are right now. when they say supply is tight, they mean the usa does not have enough refineries to refine crude.

a few years ago the senate voted 51-49 that alaska is not restricted to sell oil to domestic refineries.

    what does that mean?

yes, they will sell it to the dragon left of the pacific.

  • OK, Obama, the Windfall thing was tried before and failed, but ending the futures market is a good start. I still want to know at what point will we nationalize gas? shall we wait to $5/ Gal? $10/gal? Lets do it now. I am serious.

  • i agree seneca.

if bolivia can nationalize their gas why can't usa?

even if one doesn't buy the environmental impact idea of drilling in ANWR, shouldn't those be reserved for future calamities or cutoff of oil from the middle east?

isn't it outrageous that alaskan oil is being shipped to asia to power their factories so we buy more things and are in debt more all the while paying more for gas to do the job to erase the debt while the dollar falls more and more?

  • Very good point, Mr Getlostfucjyourself. (why that name though?) .. llol Anyways, I am all about drilling in Anwar, and wherever else, but totally against foreign ownership of this nations mineral wealth. Plus, I know we can't buy l;ease or own land in China. Are trade relations with China are strictly one sided deals which allow us to be raped financially. We need a Candidate willing to take serious action.

  • i am glad you have awareness.

america's exports resemble developing nations supplying steel, cotton and other raw materials to be manufactured abroad and then imported here.many east asian nations don't respect US intellectual rights and patents.

norway, china, japan, saudis, uae amongst many also hold major stakes in the stock market.

80 percent of america's population controls only 8 percent of the wealth. the super rich in europe, asia and usa are getting crazy rich.

  • never ever trust wealth and power in the hands of the few.

what made america great was the huge middle class which is rapidly shrinking.

  • S. suddenly

    U. unwanted

    V. vehicle

  • hahahahaha.

    nice.

  • R. regular

    I. intermediate

    P. premium

  • For someone who preaches "Yes We Can" so much, he sure says "No We Won't" a lot.

  • Look America, I would love for Obama to win, but there is a slit chance he can't do the things he says, like with George Bush.

  • lol you're funny. have it your way then.

btw, i am not a liberal or a tree hugger.

i look out for me aka numero uno. i could care less about what happens to some cuddly bear.

i can spot educated people. people who understand world politics and economics and i can spot some kid who banters off fox news, limbaugh or glenn beck on cnn.

lol i am not offended by you. i had a really good laugh. have a nice day.

  • "explain to me why drilling in the usa wont help bring the prices down?"

not really. there might not be an impact at all.

the oil will be shipped to asia. then there is a misconception that greater supply in the overall market will ease the burden on american wallets. the fact is that excess will be usurped by the worldwide consume with worldwide market prices facing minimal impact at all while the dollar gets weaker and weaker.

  • god these clueless ppl have no idea that they themselves are paying billions of taxes for oil exploration and company profits while that same oil might not get to their markets.

this is not a simple case of more cows equals more milk. problem is solved for everybody and lets blame hippie liberal obama for not wanting to drill. the government needs to step in to the specualtors who use every excuse including impending wars to cheat everyone which this government has failed to do for EIGHT YEARS.

  • eight years? it was stopped by liberal politicians..(check your facts.. its a republican/democrat question .. 99 percent of the time it went down party lines to drill or not to drill)

the spectualtors? good lord .. yea lets go after big oil too and tax them ! (they wont pass that tax right on to the little guy) or just move out of the united states liberals have shit on america for to long

the oil might not make it to our market? you sure there isnt a liberal out there that can mandate that?

  • "the spectualtors? good lord .. yea lets go after big oil too and tax them !"

less than 9 percent of wealth is controlled by 80 percent of the US population.

the wealth holders are company ceo's, chairmans, entrepreneurs who hire lobbyists who greatly influence the laws, foreign policies for the entire country.

if you cannot get that idiot, i don't know what else to say.

  • omg yes lets go after everyone that has been sucessful !!that is the worst thing ever!!

in america if your a liberal you will pander to the poor telling them the rich are evil!!!

  • no my friend. i am not being jealous of someone else's success.

what i meant is that many public policies, both internal and external are catered to serve the super rich's interests at the expense of the country as a whole. i was speaking of people who use their money and power to influence things. examples of this sort of manipulation are abundant if you take the time and energy to find out.

    god bless america.

  • not really. there might not be an impact at all.

the oil will be shipped to asia

liberals would let it go to asia before us??

you telling me they would put a huge tax on the oil companys (try to control everything ) but not control where it goes when we drill it?

    thats just plain stupid

    say "might" again dumbfuck

go hug a tree and sing kum-bye-ya

funny how liberals can do nothing (at least the conservatives have been trying to drill for the past 20 yrs)

    thats facts...you dont like

  • "you telling me they would put a huge tax on the oil companys (try to control everything ) but not control where it goes when we drill it?

    thats just plain stupid "

----irrespective of whether you view it as right or wrong does not change the facts.

oil is being shipped from alaska to asia at this very moment you dumb redneck.

lol see how you spell companies or companys.

  • i agree libroprofile. thankfully ppl as smart as you exist.

obama would pay for the healthcare costs of automobile workers and in return would ask them tto invest heavily in hybrids.

the government would also pay for the car to be able to run on ethanol and people say he has no plan.

  • the problem is our dependence on gas and obama trusts the intellect of the american people which i think he is making a mistake but nonetheless it is a noble gesture.

instead of giving a few meager dollar tax breaks, he is pushing way harder than mccain to ease our dependence on foreign oil.

we will still need oil but 70 percent of it is used in transport.

  • PART-4

WHY THE AMERICAN CONSUMER PAYS THRU THE NOSE

    - The Republicans again siding with "BIG FINANCES" & "BIG OILS" oppose Bill HR-6330 and oilman president Bush said he'll veto it, if it reaches his desk !! (WALL STREET --Big Oils have raked in over 600 billion$ in record profit$ since 2000.)

OIL DRILLING--ALTERNATIVE FUEL--NEW TECHNOLOGY will NOT help the American consumers in the "IMMEDIATE" future.

  • gas prices are so high that gangs now have to do walk-by's

  • ahahaha.

real funny man but scary too.

watch out. gas and commodity price increase plus record job loss equals more violence, break ins, burglary.

  • i remember quite vividly that gas prices were about 5 times less during " socialist " bill clinton's era.

oh but since then demand has skyrocketed you would say.

that is only a part of the answer.

since then speculation in oil futures have gone up rapidly, the dollar has lost its value significantly. and during who's 2 terms have gas prices surged up?

  • Congress has blocked new exploration and drilling in the US, building new refineries and now is blocking sugar-based biofuel imports to artificially support ethanol. Obama's solution? A new tax, of course. And twice as many Americans think Obama is "better on solving the energy problem?" What a bunch of morons, you deserve $5 a gallon gas for electing these socialists.

  • You are exactly right! How are people so blind. Of course, the liberal media is mostly to blame for the ignorance of so many Americans, but despite that, Obama clearly lacks the patriotism that a U.S. president should have, not to mention he only states the problems with the current administration. He has NO SOLUTIONS, just problems.

  • Type "H2O Car" and see what JAPAN has!

  • improving gas mileage by a couple of miles is equivalent to producing several million barrels of oil a day. obama is for much stronger fuel efficiency which the detroit automakers vehemently oppose.

it is common sense really. drill less but save more or drill more and save less? ( even if drilling is done, there is no guarantee of a price decrease.) obama will bring the resolution necessary to be less dependenton oil.

his plans for energy diversification are also much more sound and genuine.

  • Why not drill AND increase gas mileage??? To me "common sense" is not putting all your eggs in one basket.

  • obama for pres.

  • GOD has given america everything.

clinton left us with record surplus. the silicon valley bubble burst followed by 9/11 were huge blows and the hunt for al qaeda was justified.

but still the overall economy was impressive.

but the iraq war has sucked the energy and optimism. even if one fifth of that money was spent on UPLIFTMENT OF AMERICANS, america would have been a far better country and more prosperous today. the corportations have benefitted.

  • billions of dollars of subsidies are given to oil companies for oil exploration and production here in america. those companies can ship the oil abroad.

those billions are taxpayer money. people drive several miles a day to work, slog, pay consumer and income taxes and part of the tax is used for subsidies. so we may be working hard to increase global oil supply so that cars in shangai would get cheaper petroleum? shouldn't that tax be spent on subsidising energy costs for the us consumer?

  • also why would the OPEC president say there is no supply problem, it's all speculation?

if you wanted to buy jewelry. what would make its price go up? if the salesman told you its rare or if it is abundant?

same with his statement. it would be counterintuitive tio say there is pleanty of oil when there is less. that would hurt OPEC'S bottom line.

  • america got a use oil from Alaska

  • haha, in norway we pay about 12 dollars for a gallon. Its cheap we're you are folks! 4 dollars, thats nothing. god damn.

  • gas prices are all a result of a falling dollar.

we use dollars to borrow and then buy oil from foreign countries who rake in billions of kaching.

there is no supply and demand issue either. if there was, some alaskan oil wouldn't be shipped to asia now would it?

the speculators on wall street are laughing all the way back to their pricey manhattan apartments.

more and more people are speculating on oil because it has been the new black gold for a certain time.

    peace out.

  • How on earth does Obama have a 19% lead over McCain in ANY poll regarding energy related issues? McCain is interested in increasing oil exploration and building various types of new, cleaner power plants in addition to the car battery incentive mentioned in this video. Does Obama have an energy plan at all? Sorry Barack, but your not going to be able to tax your way out of this one.

  • I was just watching tv ane they are saing it's going to reach $7 by Jan.

  • white trash!

  • We are at war!!!! Man cry babies. My dad during WW2 told me he and his family we're hungry all the time. a bag of sugar costed like a hundred bucks or something. We truely are a nation of wimps. God bless the greatest generation. I pray for Liberral's.

  • As long as America's resources are controlled by for-profit companies, gas prices will continue to rise. Between the profit driven mind-sets of both the industry and speculators we do not have a chance. I am all for capitalism, with a few exceptions; energy resources being one of them. To have one industry hold all others hostage, is potentially disasterous. All energy sources should be Federally regulated, creating resources that are not "marked up" with attached corporate profits.

  • Offer 300 Million Dollars LOL! 300 Million Dollars? Over 450 Billion Dollars have been spent since 2002 on the International Space Station that has done what for the world? The Space Shuttle burns 250 Tons! of fuel every time it's launched.

  • Speculators can make the price go down too. Windfall profits tax on oil? Don't see how that would help the consumer. They'd just pass it on at the pump. Where does he get these ideas?

  • $4 a gallon is dirt cheap. Give me that anyday. We're paying $6 a gallon; and in Britain it's $15 (yes, FIFTEEN) dollars per US gallon. Most of it tax of course.

  • $4 a gallon is dirt cheap. Give me that anyday. We're paying $6 a gallon; and in Britain it's $15 (yes, FIFTEEN) dollars per US gallon. Most of it tax of course.

Are you serious 15 Dollars a Gallon?

  • I agree that the UK's gas prices are outrageous and I'd get rid of my auto if I had an opportunity to do so, however, public transportation here in the USA is a joke, with the exception of a few major organized cities. Until that problem is fixed, we are all forced to drive to work *sigh*

  • i agree with whatever you said. i would also consider driving a small sedan which costs about 11k and gives 32 mpg but i won't because of all those cavemen driving big pickups just 2 inches behind my bumper.

  • How do you heat your house? As most people in my area do, I use oil...about 400 gallons per year. At the current price of $4.60 for fuel oil, my annual heating bill would be $1,840 on top of all the other increases due to the snowball effect of this mess. I'd say we're all in trouble, whether it's $3.00 per gallon or $23.00 per gallon.

  • Oil? Interesting. It must be messy stuff to have to manage. In Australia, we just use electric heaters - not very efficient. The better homes have "reverse-cycle" air conditioners. In England they have gas (not gasoline) central heating.

  • in america some homes use electric clothes dryers and heaters and some use natural gas.

natural gas is way more efficient.

    lolz they don't use oil.

  • Where I'm from, the majority of homes use oil. We do not have access to natural gas, unless we have it trucked in. Changing over would be very costly and it would take a long time to pay for itself. Not to mention, the price of all types of fuel seem to rise as the price of oil increases. If natural gas was so cheap, we'd all be running our cars on it. It takes very few modifications to convert a gasoline engine to natural gas or liquid propane.

  • "Reverse-cycle" air conditioning is great for warmer climates. Many homes use that in my area (Pennsylvania), but an alternative, such as oil or natural gas is needed as well for the colder periods. Yes, oil can be a pain, but only the urban areas have access to natural gas. We could get propane if we had it delivered every so often, like oil, but the price difference probably wouldn't justify the change over. The bottom line is, if oil gets much more expensive, many people will suffer hardship.

  • thanks man. never new oil is used for heating.

good thing i live in cali. we turn on the heater about 4-5 times a month during the winter saving tons of energy cost.

sucks if you're in a cold area.

  • you don't use oil to heat your home. you use natural gas and their prices are different.

    lolz.

  • Hemp for victory !!! 10% of food crop space would power america through hemp oil? why are we allowing our country to slowly degrade into a third world level? And now L.E.A.P. is questioning our methods against the drug concept... I truly want to understand so i can feel like patriot. Good enough to win ww2 but not the hostile management of oil overseas...

  • Do I Care what either party thinks, I'm voting for chuck baldwin.

  • obama has no plan for energy?

he is going to index minimum wage for inflation so that no matter what the increase in energy and food, your income is at least sustainable or more sustainable than right now.

  • yay obama

  • The problem is no prez has the cohones to make

a gas price cap. We guilty to because we don't

take like the 1st on each month and say no

buy gas. Just 1 day a month on the 1st. It

    make a difference.People are like the prez's

thoe, no cohones or no whatever. Instead of

not doing, u b_tch about it to people that

    can't do a fk'ing thing.

  • 4 dollars a gallon wouldn't so bad if they paid us more. Didn't Bush fail miserably in oil before he was president? If people can't buy what they need to survive they are going to take it. It's already starting. This is out of control and going to get real ugly. We need a change.

  • Oil is not a renewable resource neither do we get it from a magic faerie. We must find a solution to prepare for when the time comes when earth runs out of oil. Perhaps we should make different cars, electric, or ones that run on natural gas (hydrogen. If we don't do this soon, you bet trillions will die and every continent will have blood soaked to the ground. Just look at Iraq, we are in for the oil.

  • God. You actually had my respect until you said "trillions" will die. As Americans say you weren't even in the "ballpark" on that one. You're off by a few orders of magnitude on the earth's population. It's estimated at 6.7 billion as of a few days ago (21st of June).

If you really want to be an alarmist about the coming dieoff then get your facts right. Not just about the population but also it's not oil "running out" that's the problem, merely the production of it peaking.

  • If we are in Iraq for the oil, WHERE IS ALL THE OIL??? Shouldn't the the United States market be flooded with oil by now if we where stealing so much from Iraq, like you ill informed liberal wackos would like everyone to believe?

  • that is because the war and oil revenue wasn't meant to benefit the average american from the beginning. just 2-3 days back major oil companies started bidding on the oil fields there.

this is not conspiracy theory. the top 1 percent controls 90 percent of their wealth.

believe me, they don't have the same vested interests as us. even saying that offshore drilling would reduce prices is bogus because those companies may not sell it here. they might sell it elsewhere.

  • If more domestic drilling will not work, what is your suggestion? I agree that the companies who do the drilling could choose to export their oil, but when you look at the big picture, doesn't that mean an increase in global supply, no matter where it goes? I am with McCain on this one, we need to increase our means of producing energy with oil and alternative fuels as well as wind, hydro, and solar technologies. I don't see how a windfall profits tax will do anything but make the problem worse.

  • The US government needs to start their own oil company. Hire former petroleum employees and drill on federal lands. Compete against the private oil companies in order to control the prices. After all the oil actually belongs to the American people. Saudi supports their citizens education and medical care from their oil profits.

  • You're the only other person I've heard say that!! If the gov't sold gas at little or no profit, everybody would buy it from them, and the oil companies would be forced to lower their prices or go out of business. Will it happen though? probably not unfortunatly

  • this is getting really bad.... gas getting higher but pay not getting any higher at all

  • IT IS TIME TO INVADE for this time truly for oil. Pass the word around. TIME TO INVADE those oil fields.

  • Obama has NO comprehensive energy plan to getting us out of paying OVER $4/gal for gas, & analysts are now saying $7/gal by end of 2010!!! On this news the DOW dropped 350 pts today. Poor GM & Ford... =/

We need anything & everything done to save our energy crisis which is starting to cripple our economy!! Taxing US oil companies will not get overseas OPEC & non-OPEC foreign suppliers to play nice & why should our money go to FOREIGN oil companies & not stay in the US?? Wake up America!! =/

  • If only more Americans where actually informed about this problem. Sadly, you are one of the few.

  • Take your money OUT of the bank... GET OUT of stocks NOW!!!

  • You think £4 a gallon is expensive, Here in the rip off UK diesel is a whopping $11.84 a gallon after the rip off taxes our government adds. You still have it good!

  • They still don't get that US is wonderland for gas prices.People enjoy and drive

  • Are you serious ?? Over $11 a gal ??

OMG ?? mAYBE US YANKS DON'T HAVE IT THAT BAD.

  • RageMorePls is a spineless coward.

  • RageMorePls needs to be shut down by You Tube.

  • If RageMorePls had a brain, he'd be dangerous.

  • If you or anyone subscribes to me i will subscribe to you or them!!!

  • It takes at least 10 years to produce oil offshore. The idea is ludicrous and in the end it wouldn't even lower gas prices because gas prices are global and determined by GLOBAL supply and demand. The $300mill prize is a joke, because e.g. Daimler has invested tens of billions already in research on batteries and the power plants to produce them (yea figure that, you need alternative energy plants to become oil independent or else it's pointless). McBush Gimmicks? I think very much.

  • It's not something you could come up with in your garage. It requires a lot of testing and resources to make the technology energy and heat efficient enough to be used on a large scale. The money needs to be invested upfront. Offering prizes like McBush did is a gimmick, because it doesn't even come close to covering the expenses that would be required upfront. And the inventor would make a lot more than 300mill anyway. McBush should get serious and stop looking for excuses to do nothing.

  • But I have no doubt McBush will still audaciously claim credit once the technology will be developed, even though his little gimmick here had in fact nothing to do with it at all. I'll be frank, his pandering makes me sick.

  • ragemorepis is an ignorant mother fucker. Do not trust the guy.

  • $300 million is chump change for huge car companies and battery producers. Try $1 trillion. I'll pay the $3(est. 600mil people) to get these car companies to let go of their stead fast consumers. And I'll give $300 to develop the roadways for lightweight vehicles.

  • RageMorePls is the biggest jerk on YouTube.

  • If John Mccain becomes President, I'm going to start writing my will. This old piece of SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! is not going to solve problems. FUCK HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO TO HELL MCCAIN!

  • Where do we dump the hazardous byproducts of making this battery?

The only place we can, I our ass, we'll walk around with this uncomfortable hunk of metal in our ass.

  • As the current and future battery market where Lithium Ion batteries will be the most widely used, such as those most used in cell phones, laptop computers, cameras etc. hazardous byproducts is not going to be a problem.

"Lithium Ion batteries are classified by the federal government as non-hazardous waste and are safe for disposal in the normal municipal waste stream".

  • water car

  • Yeah I have a feeling that little story is gonna be covered up.

  • "water car"

There is a long way to go before water is heating youe home and a fuel used to run a power plant.

  • Water isn't an energy source. It isn't even a fuel.

  • ya, that makes a huge difference in politics, u fuckin hick

  • A $300million reward for the development of a new battery ?? WTF ?? Why not take that money and lower the gas prices ?

  • i know, really

  • This has worked in the past. If 4 independent investors each spend $200 million trying to develop a battery and one does, than that would save the government a few hundred million dollars.

Did you know Charles Lindbergh built the Spirit of St. Louis in 1927 to win the 1919 Orteig Prize of $25,000 for anyone who could build the first plane that could fly across the Atlantic Ocean non stop.

  • OctoberSaint "A $300million reward for the development of a new battery ?? WTF ?? Why not take that money and lower the gas prices ?"

Take a moment, tighten your screws, and go back to your village.

You realize 300,000,000 is only $1 per person in the US?

"If you give a man a fish, he eats for a day. If you teach a man to fish he eats for a lifetime."

Think about it... you might have to think a while.

  • OctoberSaint: "A $300million reward for the development of a new battery ?? WTF ?? Why not take that money and lower the gas prices ?"

$300 million is $1 per person. For some perspective the suspension of the gas tax would save $28 (in Obama's own words). So, I'm curious, what do you support? 'WTF' indeed.

    jonnyman94 "i know, really"

    Really?

  • or give the people woh work a better pay.

  • "A $300million reward for the development of a new battery ?? WTF ?? Why not take that money and lower the gas prices?"

Estimated U.S. Population as of today: 304.5 million.

    Estimated U.S. Population over 18: 221 million.

So each person over eighteen in the U.S. would get a one-time $1.35 discount on their motor fuel costs. It's just one third of a gallon of free gasoline. And it wouldn't be free either since it's taxes that are paying for this. Idiots like you should keep their mouth shut.

  • I dont support obama, democrats or liberals but you are exactly what I picture when I think republican. Some people vote parties for certin reasons. My father votes republican because hes in aerospace, my mother votes democrate becasue she wants health care for my granparents and herself when she gets to that age. But you vote out of pure ignorance. "Terroist" I mean seriously thats just stupid. And "Nigger' well yea that pretty muhc sums you up.

  • I highly suggest you don't waste any time with ragenomorepls. He is a racist and in my opinion he could not reason his way out of a paper bag with a laptop preloaded with Microsoft reasoning your way out of a paper bag software, the companion manual reasoning your way out of a paper bag for dummies, and an itty bitty book lite.

  • Nothing but biased, warped minded republican voters. If you Republicas had any sense whatsoever, you'd vote for Obama, because quite frankly Bomb Mclame is full of shit

  • Not a Rebulican nor a Dumocrap, I am an IDEPEDENT and always have been, personally both parties suck

  • Bomb Mcclame......LOL lildwayne21

Although I support Ralph Nader 2008

  • I don't support obama, but I wonder where Mr. McCain came up with $300,000,000.00. Sounds like an arbitrary number. Anyway I won't drink the obama-aid. It seems like most people who support him don't know two shits about politics or economics. Whatever. There will always be dummies as long as there are humans.

  • DMuMajor 300 mil is 1 dollar for each citizen.

  • Thank you.

  • DMuMajor "...but I wonder where Mr. McCain came up with $300,000,000.00. Sounds like an arbitrary number."

What's the population of the United States?

  • No drilling, windfall profits tax? Yea that'll really help the little guy. Obama...relying on the ignorance of the voters.
