  • deathvalleywarthog you are 100 percent right , i just got back from the range with my brand new sub 2000 . the korean mag worked fine the first time , after that it jammed 3 times in 30 rounds .P.O.S now i stay with my glock mags only

  • I dissagree with the Korean Glock mags. I tried all capacities in 9mm and .45 mags, and they work just fine. FIRST TIME. After you used them once you can throw them away because they jam all the time. In a survival situation, that can cost you your life. Just saying.

  • i own a beretta carbine keltec 2000 and im gonna tell you the gun i got thats blows noth away is a high point 45 acp carbine newer model its only downfall is small clip but its more accurate and alot more powerful let the haters hate

  • @klm112180 I have the hi-point 9mm carbine. I love it! Great little carbine.

  • I'm torn between the hi-point and the mini 14. Any ideas?

  • been looking at these.. havnt decided yet but they do have a lot of extras you can get.. such as replacing the entire front guard/hand hold? not sure what to call it at the moment..lol so u can mount scopes and what ever u want... any how nuntnfancy has a great review on it.

"The Awesome Little Kel-Tec Sub-2000" by Nutnfancy

  • Good weapon thought it has some issue.

Can't get one to save your life.

Is not designed for 9mm +P.

Okay I am jealeous, I looked and looked for one. Could have gotten the .40 but wanted something ligheter weight, round wise.

    cheers

  • Looks like a great gun for the money its pretty much impossible to beat.

The other Kel Tec I have performs perfectly - MADE int he USA as well.

  • While the concept of the sub2000 is admirable, I take issue with its limitations. I've yet to see or hear of a model chambered in anything other than 9mm, so what makes it good for bug out bags is a bit pointless if I have to carry separate ammo and magazines for it. I carry an FNP45, so if I am going to take the route of carrying a carbine or rifle on me, I might as well stick to a NFA Sub-Length AMD63 with a car15 stock. With the tax stamp and stock conversion, it compresses to the same length

  • @MeanderingBeing It is also chambered for the 40 S&W. I don't believe there is a 45 though. I'm one of those crazy people that prefer the 9MM so it's great for me.

  • @mountainprepper Well it's good to see it chambered in other calibers, but in any case it still doesn't serve my needs, considering I carry a FNP45 everyday. If they did end up making a model for 45s with an FN grip, I would gladly pick one up. As it stands though, I can fit my AK in my rucksack for any purpose, and serves my needs just fine... now if only I could fit my mosin nagant in there lol

  • @mountainprepper What do you think of the Beretta CX-4/PX-4 combination in 9mm? They use the same 17 round mags, are both small and accurate, and with the Sierra Papa (CX-4) and Steve Bedair (PX-4) upgrades (which I have) they are very reliable!

  • @mattxr2i I've never held one, but I've heard good things about the Beretta. I would consider any carbine/pistol combination that uses the same magazines a good choice.

  • @mountainprepper Oh, well you should certainly try one out if you get the chance. I absolutely love mine! But I'm also looking into a G-17 and Kel Tec Sub 2000. Good video btw!

  • @MeanderingBeing I understand your concern with the pistol cal. carbine...but for what he is talking about..the Sub2000 is perfect. It is small, light, accurate, accepts same mags as my pistol (logistics) and will do just about anything I need a carbine to do.

From the rifle length bbl, the 9mm is pretty much same as a 357 magnum. And from what you save on cost, and tax stamp over the AMD, you can get lots of mags and ammo...logistics!

  • @stoots74 Well said. That's exactly what I was trying to convey. It's just a very practical set up.

  • Is it reliable? It looks cheap.

  • Good information about this weapon. I'm going to look into one.

    Thanks again.

  • 9mm rounds out of a Sub-2k exit the barrel with the energy of a .357 magnum due to the extra length of powder burn over that of a pistol. They're accurate to 100 yards or so. That's plenty of firepower for just about any situation. Especially considering the interchangeability with your pistol and the ability to fold into a bag comfortably.

  • I have a sub 2000 in the Glock .40 calibur along with a Glock 22 RTF. I have 3, 20 round mags for the Kel Tec and 3 hi-cap (15 round) mags for the G22. I carry those in my "bug out" bag. It's a great combo.

  • My friend I like the Keltec 2000 as a survival rifle. But if you just look on youtube so many people are carring tactical weapons, such as AK's and AR's that if any of them are bad guys your going to be out gun and a part of a SHTF/ WORL situation is protection of your self and family. Just something to think on. good video!

  • @TheHeal3152 Good strategy. In 2006-07, my team and I carried all kinds of extra backup weapons in our truck just in case we needed it.

  • Montani Semper Liberi. Are you from West Virginia mountainprepper? What part?

  • @Friedstuffsable Lincoln County.

  • @mountainprepper I'm up here in Wetzel.

  • Sig also.

  • Nice choice man and good thinkin' too ! Same ammo, rifle & pistol - sweet & compact ! Ignore the chucklehead comments.... they must be democRATS or just plain ignorant. I do prefere a harder hitting bullet fer my rifle though , .223 will getcha home too !! When the SHTF, who gives a flyin' fornication what the cops think !

    Carry On Mountainprepper,

    Snoot ;o)

  • I'm viewer 18,000 :D

  • I got one of these to pair with my Glock. Great gun.

Regarding the sights, I bought a universal quad-rail on Amazon, as well as a quick-release riser. I attached my red dot holo to the riser. It mounts true every time so I don't have to re-zero it. Quick release to fold the gun and store it. When stored I mount the holo to the underside of the barrel since the top side is folded in. Also mounted a folding grip to the bottom of the quad. Very inexpensive & easy setup.

  • I currently have the Kel Tec Sub 2000, its a really great little gun.

  • @mostlymichaelcanada Yes it is. Great concept and engineering.

  • I love how all these ill informed SHEEPLE are crying about you carrying this around.

  • @jldwolfe I CARRY A ROCKRIVER M4 IN MY TRUNK

  • I think most people get all bent out of shape as them seeing that our society in this 1st world country (US), as not needing civilian carry anymore, the police will be there. This is usually true Except for, Natural Disaster. Take a min, look at your town you live in, now imagine, just this, No Electricity, for say 3 weeks. How long before your SO or city PO are over-whelmed by calls, how many citizens will be fending for themselves? How many that Didn't prepare will become desperate? You nvr no

  • further more, if i'm "buggin' out" it's bad, @ that point just being out side might be a crime. point is, i'll carry what i want, and anyone with a problem w/ that better be faster than me.

just saying, if i'm leaving it's for survival, and i will do all i can to survive.

now i'm not saying i'd go out and start waxing ppl left & right. i'd adhere to standard rules of engagement, (if there's no threat than i'll just be on my way officer.) i would primarily try to stay out of sight, out of mind.

  • i love the conversions i see on the net these days about guns, and gun law/rights.

fact is, it is your right, inalienable,to have a gun on your person @ ALL times, and the main reason for that right isn't for petty criminals and thugs,(most of the time you can fend them off w/ other/non-lethal means) it's so that your gov. fears YOU and not the other way around.

this is not only your right, but the duty/responsibility of every american.

"liberty or death" is not a choice, but an obligation.

  • I been told bye cops they don't want these guns on the streets all you need is a felony charge and those rights go away word for word from a cop so I take it they don't want large caliber gun on the streets

  • @blkwulff That may be true where u live but around here our rights are taken very seriously. And your right if i had a felony charge i would be in deep shit over this firearm. But, then again, i would get locked up for having a .22 or any firearm for that matter.

  • @blkwulff if you have a felony you can not purchase, be in posession of, or be in the company of a firearm anyway, sounds like you talked to a anti-gun officer, if you ever run into him again ask him if he knows what a straw purchase is, also just because the law restricts the law abiding citizens rights criminals will ALWAYS have access to firearms regaurdless of make or model, or cal

  • @blkwulff dude you're wrong i own a 91/30 and it uses much larger rounds than the ak47 and i don't know where you are from but even here in CO. its acceptable to own much larger firearms and the pigs can do anything about it.

  • @blkwulff cant**

  • I got a concealed weapon permit I know if I carry either the cops will find a charge they don't like guns end of story who they going to believe u or a cop um cop have fun in jail

  • A good 22lr Pistol very hide able better chance of police not noticing oh wait probly shouldn't say but they. Watch large caliber ammo oh wait 9mm on the top!!!!

  • @blkwulff I can take care of myself. You weigh your options. It's different in every region.

If you're saying FEMA can take you for something that's legal, they can take you for any legal reason. I'll take my chances with my firearms.

  • You. Are carrying this to get home you are crazy sorry more likely police pick you up for being crazy hope you like camp FEMA

  • @blkwulff That's what a concealed weapons permit is for genius.

  • @blkwulff English???????

  • @blkwulff You must not live in Texas. This is legal in your car.

  • anyone think the sight is pretty weak?

I'm not sure why they didnt make it fold the opposite way like the Su 16 so the opticas can be mounted and stay there..

  • this sub2k is amazing. for about 100 dollars more than hi point's 995, you can have one of these. Hi point has its place, but this and 2 mags is mush lighter than the 995 unloaded.

  • 1:13 I have done research on this gun and I would love to get it. But does anyone know if it it legal to conceal in the state of Michigan? I know Michigan is the ONLY state where you have to obtain a pistol permit to purchase this gun, unless you have your CCW.

i want to get my CCW, but does anyone know if it is legal to conceal this foldable rifle in Michigan?

  • @DiscoverTruth1776

No you may not carry/conceal this firearm even with a licence. The new and "proper" term is CPL (Concealed Pistol Licence) that was done to eliminate confusion. A CPL or what was know as a CCW is FOR HANDGUN ONLY! You WILL go to prison if this is not in a locked case like any other rifle for transport.

  • @36000408 Thank you for the clarification. :-)

  • @36000408

Rifles dont need to be in a locked case. perfectly legal to carry in a backpack or any other case in most states...

  • @thayne559

As far as the law goes locked just means sealed.

  • What is the effective range of the 9mm round in a carbine?

  • wish they made it in 10mm

  • this gun shoots pretty dirty so just be ready to clean it often

  • korean mags suck.........not reliable.........1 missfeed means death to you........buy glock 33 bout $30

  • will a glock 9mm magazine fit this gun?

  • @TheBrianEffect101 You have to buy the model that fits Glock 9mm mags, but yes.

  • Question: If you carry this rifle collapsed in your backpack... do you need a concealed carry permit? (in most states, that is).

  • @Quaddamagei Not sure about all state laws. But i would guess the answer would be yes since technically you would be concealing the firearm.

  • @mountainprepper but is a shtf situation i would not worry about a concealed carry permit

  • @Quaddamagei No, it is considered a long gun not a pistol so handgun laws do not apply to this. An added benefit is that it's effective range is 150 yards. More then triple what a pistol is capable of and the 9mm hits with the same power as a 357 magnum. I own one in each caliber and love them. It is my get home gun.

  • @Quaddamagei Only if its illegal to carry a firearm in a case :) The kel-tec cannot fire from the folded position, plus I don't see a difference between a case and a range bag. Should be OK

  • @Quaddamagei in Montana the gun needs to be on your person to be considered concealed. Guns in bags or purses are not on your person and can be carried without a permit.

  • @Quaddamagei I highly doubt it. The weapon has a 16 inch barrel and elongated stock so it meets the federal criteria for a carbine/rifle. Definitely check with your local Sheriff's Office to be safe, as you'll be limited to certain magazine capacities for certain states and whatnot.

  • I love my subbie never jammed yet.

  • Magpul FMG & Henry AR-7 are in my B.O. B., along w/ a Glock 33 for back-up.

  • I have two of these for my BOB. I have a 9mm and a 40 cal. Love them both. I have them tricked out with every accessory they make. Kel Tec has accessories and tacticool also has some neat stuff. Must haves are the 1 inch stock extension and the foam rubber buffer tube pad so you don't burn your cheek. The PVC charging handle cover is a nice add on and a small picatiny rail so you can put a light and or laser. Also a soft rubber grip cover helps your gripand a 2 point sling .Great guns!

  • There is a swiveling scope mount for the Sub2000, but I forget who makes it. Saw it in a video here on Youtube. Maybe it came out after this video...

  • I'm sure you have seen it already, but Kel-Tec now has a quad rail available for the Sub-2000 for around $100. It looks great, and still allows the firearm to fold and lock. Thanks for the video.

  • sorry to be negative, but ive been wanting this configuration for years. kel tek needs to get off their ass and make these available or piss off. why all the hype about a gun i cant get due to scarity? why advertise your product when you already cant meet demand?

  • @realdad32 There are tons of them available. They are just in high demand so they sell quickly in the gun stores. Great guns and can't beat the price.

  • I still carry a Henry US Survival and 200 rounds of ammo in my GHB. As I "Pack Light" food scrounging will be a must for me, by no means is it a main weapon but there to get me home (40 miles from work by road)

  • Can't wait for more companies to take this idea and run with it.

  • KELETC 4TW!

  • Keltec makes some AWESOME weapons, this is a very good option, I would suggest the new PMR and RMR pistol and carbine in 22 magnum both guns hold 30 rounds in the magazine flush and work in both weapons. Both guns are very light the carbine loaded weighing 4 lbs.

Another option for discreet carry but law enforcement and military commonality would be a AR15 type pistol, (Keltec also makes a pistol like this)

It all depends on your threat scenario and urban vs rural environment.

  • @usarmycaptainamerica Excellent comment man. I will check out the other keltec options. Thanks

  • @mountainprepper.....I carry a Get Home Bag (alice pack) with me at all times and I have an AK-47 as my weapon. However, after retrieving my scoped Ruger 22 rifle from my gun safe in order to kill a sick racoon, I realized how light the weapon really is and how acurate and how deadly it is with a properly placed shot. I'm now considering carrying my Ruger 22 instead of my AK. Hiking with my GHB I find that the AK becomes really heavy to carry. Anyway, to each his own.

  • what are the differennce betwin sub 9

  • Beware the 33-round Korean mags for anything more than plinking. If you're thinking "life on the line" equipment, go with the OE Glock 33-rounders. Yes, they've jumped into the $39 (Cheaper than Dirt) to $49 (Suarez) range (thanks to the unwanted Tuscon advertising, no doubt), the fit and spring strength of the OE mags are worth the investment.

  • Got a SUB 9 with Glock mags. Stays in my AlICE pack all the time

  • @25foot smart man

  • I've been wanting a .40 for several months now but none of the internet gun sites I frequent have any in stock. Never seen one in a gun shop or show. I'm on the email lists to be notified when they are available but so far no dice. I'll find one eventually.

  • @dpwoody2010 Yep they are very hard to find.

  • @dpwoody2010 i was finally able to get one chambered on .40 s&w. It was the only one that didn't have a 10 month waiting list

  • hey bro i have one.. you hit it on the head..shoots Great i call it my atv gun.thanks for the vid

  • @brooklynprepper Yea a very practical little gun

  • A great little weapon.I have a draco ak pistol as mine.

  • Set one of these up with a 33 round clip and you're good to go. Did you actually get one of these yet MP?

  • @okieprepper Hhhhmmm maybe.

  • Good call. This is definitely on my list of things to pick up sooner than later.

  • @talonvi It fits my criteria. I think it would be beneficial for all preppers

  • Great ideas. Thanks for sharing...
