  • Down the lane memories gives you peace and satisfaction. When you go back to your child hood and connect your passion just for a radio. Radio at that time was a million dollar item.Holding it in our arms and moving up and down stretching it’s areal and taking it out in an open atmosphere, in order to listen to clear sound with out distortion. Those days and era have gone.Today after listening to a touch of Binaca geet mala I feel that was a golden time where Radio was used to doll harmony.280611

  • Dear Ikram Baig,

Yes those were the days, when we not only used to wait for the Binaca Geet Mala, but also bet among friends as to which will be the top song of the week - and also which song will become Sartaj (a programme which Amin Sayani had started later on).

I am looking for song :Aane Wale Kal Ki tum Tasveer ho, Naaz Karegi Duniya Tum Par Duniya Ki Taqdeer Ho".

If you have it, I would be highly grateful if you can up load this.

    Rgds.

    Arvind (Punam964).

  • Dear IM,

Thank you for bringing the latest about Amin Sayani - an affable radio host who captured the hearts and imagination of music lovers all over the sub-continent.

If anybody know where to get the new compilation (of 5 volumes) please let me know. I will like to find out where to purchase them particularly in Canada.

    Regards,

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year 2010

  • exciting.

  • Thanks for up dating about Amin Saab.

Every Wednes day we used to meet in aIrani cafe to listen to Binaca geet mala at Sultan bazar ,Hyderabad in 50s, later we formed a Binaca geetmala club.

In the absenseof Amin saab Dopal sarma used to come on Air,very rarely.

Late sunil dutt was also was with him

and was known as Balraj(other name of dutt)

  • In the absence of Ameen Saab, the announcer who used to come was Gopal Sharma (correct spelling). Balraj was Sunil Dutt's real name, as far as I know.

    Rajil Sayani
