For those defending his weight problem ... imagine what good he could have accomplished if he had gained control of his weight. His message to his fellow Hawaiians was as much about defending his people as it was religious in nature ... but, make no mistake, God looks at overeating just as he does people doing cocaine. It's a sin. I lament that he is gone ... but, in turn, that also means I lament that he never did what it took to get his gluttony under control.

How do you know he did not have a condition? Some people get grotesquely fat, but their bodies have real medical issues.
But, it is a real shame you put him in a sinful manner, when he only gave LOVE.

@anotheronem Well jesus wasnt god, so I'm not quite sure what you mean with "God will provide" And provide with what? It's not right defending this in any way. And you can blame different conditions all you want, a person does not get this way being healthy. Obesity is a big problem in the US, especially with kids. Child obesity causes depression amongst other things... Kids are suppose to be happy and active, not worrying about their next meal (ahem, addiction!)

If one is a CHRISTIAN - they believe Jesus IS God. Although there are small sects who don't place Jesus as God, but majority of Christians do.
This man may have had a condition, one does not know. And NO one can condemn him to hell as another poster did.
So, why are people pointing at this man, millions of Americans (or other countries) have these problems.

I am not defending over EATING or kids being sedentary or parents over feeding their children.
I am defending a man - whom YOU or others do not know his condition- who is dead.
There are some people with conditions that cause obesity, YOU don't know his health condition, so you don't have a right to condemn him personally is all I am saying.
As far as eating healthy and americans propensity for fast food, that is ANOTHER topic.
