  • thumbs up if you show an imac g3 0:24

  • actually that is the correct way u are supposed to install an outlet with the ground wire up. its supposed to prevent things from falling in between the two contact points.

  • You need to change your outlet

  • it's just a loose or broken neutral wire, easy fix. the fact you don't bother to get it fixed is shocking, though

  • Next video! HUUURRR Lets try and see what will happen if I put a knife inside socket!

  • so this is why he hates electronics so much

  • HOUSE FIRE!!!

  • damn dude thats a fire waiting to happen hope you got it fixed

  • people whi installed that socket should be ashamed of the self

  • Wow. That's bad

  • that is some bad wireing

  • Sounds like...hot is grounding to, well...ground. Was that it?

  • Sounds like the ground is bad.

  • replace outlet and tape the connectors(screws) make sure screws to cable are tight

  • i would not keep any gas round if i were you

  • No AFCIs?

  • if you've been getting zapped and its shorting out, you need to replace it.

  • first off let me say that poopoogarret is crazy awesome:)

@vorkev1....man no offense but you need some SERIOUS education in wiring. lets go back to WWII(sorry old timers) lets think. copper was preserved for the war so houses usel ALUMINUM wiring. copper was used prior and after the war but alot of homes had it in the early 70s still DANGEROUS wiring for inside the house 15 amp could not carry that load reliably without melting thats why there were so many fires in the day.

  • then dont use it dumbass!

  • STOP! you're burning up you're Neutral!

  • OH SHIT THE ELECTRICAL PLUG IS SPARKING, I BETTER FILM IT!

  • Who's eating my cereal?

  • Well, did your house burn down?

  • smash?

  • all my oulets upside down

  • @TheBj145 the outlet in my room is sideways

  • thats why i leave my bed away from ALL outlets!

  • dangerous!

  • why is it upside down?

  • that could of burned your house down.

  • 22 people want this dude house ot burn down #LOL

  • My guess is there is no electrical tape that insulates the box from the cable so short ground to hot wire

  • Put your finger in it :)

  • We have that in Norway to, but it says like, Bank and then sparkle

  • Looks dangerous!

  • No need to replace, turn the screws stuck

  • if I were you I woulds move

  • What's that truck on the road? Is it a hippie? Is it a minimum wage Wal-Mart worker? It's Electrician Man!

  • lol, it's UPSIDE DOWN X)

  • @babykilla1231 are you retarded?

  • were in this old house and wean you use the microwave the lights in the kitchen will

    dim

  • normally down to mousture behind the socket ur roof may me leaking

  • I did that once I wanted to connect my audio speakers and when I connected it, the fuse box exploded XD The power shut down in the back room except the kitchen, lounge room, bed rooms and bathrooms :D

  • rice krispies LOL

  • its an overheaten intel core!

    Thumbs up for AMD

  • lol it sounds like a radiatoin suit

  • get some CO/ALR outlets/switches if your home has Aluminum wiring

  • Aluminum wiring is a fire hazard.

  • Sometimes there appear corrosion and makes contacts more bad.

  • This same thing happened to the outlet our microwave was plugged into. Decades ago, when a new outlet was put in, the wires were joined together with electrical tape.

Fast forward to 2010, the microwave flickered and went out. I smelled plastic burning, and I looked behind the microwave. The whole faceplate for the outlet had ignited and started melting. Once I got the fire out, I had a ruined microwave, ruined wallpaper, and a melted outlet. Electricity is serious business.

  • nice

  • I'll bring the marshmallows

  • and now connect it with a bottle of water

  • ROFL That happened to me once and the sparks welded the plug stuck, so had to turn off power and somehow get it out.

  • Get an electrician in to give ur place a complete rewiring overhaul.

  • you need to get that thing changed the wires are loose in the socket and its dangrous as it can explode and catch fire

  • @talktalkmodem loose wires dont cause an explosion lol

Where are you getting your info from? They will cause a Glowing connection, where a series arc will cause the connections to oxidize and the alloying of the metals increase the resistance, which then will heat up and cause a fire. so you were half right.

  • BOOOOM!!!!!!!!! haha

  • That is not safe at all

  • man do something about it :D

  • Date uploaded: September 26, 2008

Well, did you get it fixed?!

  • @BFMVpwnage5168 Yep! Im using it at this moment to power my laptop haha

  • @poopooGarret wtf ! dude seriously get that sorted your gonna come home and have a no house left.

  • @poopooGarret How did you fix it?

  • @poopooGarret Are you going to smash that laptop for us...

  • @poopooGarret Why the hell did the guy put the plug in upside down?? Thats a hint i'd say.....

  • @wescoolya there is nothing wrong with the upside down plugs, its just how its installed, my house has the upside ones and they work fine

  • thats how house fires get started better get it fixed

  • lol I would of immediatly turned off the breaker and changed it right on the spot. That's a pretty bad arc fault. Cool effects for at night though lol.

  • a dangerous problem that has the potential to cause an electrical fire in your walls.

  • weird power outlet lol

  • terminals with black tape. this should fix the problem. make sure the circuit is OFF before attemping to do this!!

  • its in a metal box, the wiring is probably stripped somewhere inside the box it shouldnt be. if it is sparking without tripping the circuit is ungrounded or too small of a ground. kill the circuit replace, try to pull more wiring out, black tape whatever nicks or cuts the insulation may have, reattach black wire to copper screw and neutral white wire to silver screw, and wrap whole outlet around screw

  • If that would be in a home made past 2000 or if the outlet where done after 2000 in sweden... The braker or the ground safe would probably shut off.

  • SHUT OFF THE CIRCUIT IT IS ON AND REPLACE THE OUTLET PRONTO. GET A (competent) ELECTRICIAN TO DO IT. You are right, this thing is ready to burn your house down.

  • loose wire(s) or it just a shitty outlet

  • I agree it could be aluminum wiring. It may be something else. But, GET AN ELECTRICIAN TO CHECK IT!!!!!

  • i got an idea: SMASH IT WITH A RUBBER MARIO DOLL

  • i wanna fry some eggs and this happened to me before

  • You should strongly consider getting an electrician.

Those kind of conditions with power outlets can permanently damage certain appliances or even start an electrical fire.

  • That would be caused by a loose wire on one of the outlet's terminals. The arcing was even coming through the wall plate a few times. That condition could trip an arc fault circuit interrupter (afci) if you had one.

  • Looks like the hot wire isn't secure onto the set screw thus causing arcing. You need to tighten the set screw or maybe even have to replace the outlet all together if there is a fault or if the set screw can't tighten all the way. Call a licensed electrician to look into this for you before you end up with a potential electrical fire.

  • Dam. I would recommend calling an electrician-NOW!!!!

  • omg u are haveing an arc fault u need an "afci" arc fault circuit interrupter circuit breaker it can stop that

  • That's not the problem here. An AFCI will just keep shutting off power and won't fix the problem.

  • but an afci will stop a fire form happening behind ur walls =P and it will save ur life

  • I know, but that doesn't fix anything.

  • ya it is doing some thing it is stoping a fire before it gets dangerus =-P [=-=-]

  • Wow it's burning... you can fry an egg there.

  • i saw a lil flame @ 0:14 ! holy shit!

  • Ohh yeah... HOLY SHIT! I saw too.

  • Looks like a bad connection with aluminum wires. The aluminum oxidizes over time and the wire will insulate itself from the terminal screws on the sides of the electrical outlet. This causes the connection to get hot which compounds the situation. Aluminum wires also are affected by cold-creep which will cause the terminal screws to loosen on the wires. Always make sure aluminum wires are treated with a compound such as Penetrox A at connection points and ensure connections are neat and tight.

  • i had it repaired a wile ago, hey do you live in or around north bay? (guessing by your username)

  • You guessed it - West Ferris area.

  • Same, im right behind the north bay mall lol

  • So how was it repaired? Did you have aluminum wiring? Did the wires just need to be tightened or did the whole outlet get replaced? Did any wiring get replaced? I'm having issues with an outlet and am now looking for answers before paying a pro.

  • @LakeNipissing LOL, just checked and couldn't believe what I read ... Lots of homes in the USA are (were) wired with aluminium wires??? WTF that is sick and dangerous.

BTW the the oxide layer on aluminium wires is very thin so that is not a big problem. The real problem is that aluminium has a expansion coefficient that differs from most metals used in electrical terminals which can loosen the connection over time (that's what you hear here : sparks because the connection is not tight enough).

  • @LakeNipissing what teh heck are you smokeing you use copper wire in a house not aluminum. but yes it may be a loosconnect or a bad outlit shorting eather way kill the breaterand eplace. its not hard to do .

  • @vorkev1 Before you make a comment, educate yourself... even try YouTube: watch?v=JdMNAaqtDG0

Hundreds of thousands of houses in Canada and the US were wired with aluminum between 1968 and 1978. I used to live in a house built in 1973 and experienced lots of what is seen in Garret's video.

  • @LakeNipissing Look at the outlit dezine its a newer outlit wich meens the house uses copper wireing and you still have your fact rong copper hase ben used inthe us almost for ever he only time other wire was sed is if somone who wired the houe did not no what thay whare doing hen ul stanadards camesboug it was pute in to law that thay mut use copper for household ireing in less it was a lamp or radio or tv thenthay could use aluminem for the ground.

  • @vorkev1 I tried to use Google Translate to understand what the hell you're trying to say, but there was no Moron to English option.

  • i have herd of people like you i think the saying is you cant fix stupid. or is it you can take the nigger from the geto but you cant take the geto out the nigger.

  • @vorkev1 what the HELL is your problem?

  • @vorkev1 all I understood was... nothing... Learn To Type much?

  • @h0s3h34d pretty harsh bro he might be dyslexic still funny tho ;)

  • Comment removed

  • @vorkev1 You might want to get a new keyboard dude. Your text is coming out all screwed up. The outet in this video seems to function better than your keyboard is.

  • so what was the problem? a loose connection i'm guessing?

  • replace

  • @10cmsub maibe repair

  • maybe there are fire ants in der. those damn ants destroy the light switches in our house

  • we don't have fire ants in canada. i know poopoogarret in person

  • And ain't i just a ray of fucking sunshine? XD

  • lol garret

  • fire hazard

  • if you have clue about electric you would know that regular outlets or receptacles do not work good for computers or other electronic devices what u need is a tvss outlet. u can perches them any weir they plug rite in to the regular receptacle. and what is coll about it is they have their own little circuit switch or breaker that turns it on and off or kills the power when needing too. i am 15 and a apprentice electrician and recently found that out.

  • Get it replaced.

  • I can see the sparking behind the wallplate. There is no way in **** I would have that happen and NOT have someone come and service those lines!

  • I repaired it right after i too that video, im useing it for my computers right now :)

  • Good, I'm glad that is being taken care of. One of the things I did when I bought my house two years ago was to have servicing of the electrical system paid for by the sellers. In the sales agreement, any issues raised by the housing inspector that would cost at least $500 were going to be paid by the seller, which included wiring work around the electrical grid. I've had no problems since other than needing to replace some 1950s style outlets in a few rooms.

  • Replace or repair it immediately!!!!!! because it is much more dangerous you may think!

  • DUDE GET THAT REPLACED

  • you should try doing it when your hands are wet =)

  • unplug that shit for good

  • woah

  • Thats scary
