The straws provide a round, aerodynamicaly reduntant shape to allow no "Lift" to be created as happens on any fixed bladed broadhead with flat planar surfaces exposed at high velocity to the air stream from bow to target/animal. In other words...for the exact same reason many now shoot mechanical broadheads which have thier wings closed in flight and then pop open at impact. Ours simply are exposed ready to do the job..yet covered for aerodynamic efficiency enhancing wicked accuracy.
Yep...it's horrible when you forget to baste with garlic spice while slow smoking in the smoker grill! Guess you've never eaten turkey on Thanksgiving Holiday or in a sandwich? You should try it....quite delicious for sure!
The reason for the straws is to eliminate any flat planar surfaces....thus no "Lift" is created to fly the broadhead in another direction than that which you aimed. At any speed...it remains accurate going exactly where you aimed it...once it hits the bird in the neck...it cuts thru the plastic to continue in lopping the head off...
very, very effective with no suffering and no wasted meat! No tracking either as you can see!
