  • can someone please tell me the name of the music played in the first few seconds in this video?!?! (0:00 to 0:13)

    THANKS!! x

  • That moment when the Ivory tower emerges from behind those rocks is to this day one of the most exhilarating moments of my entire life!

  • Adrenaline!

  • There's something about this track that touches a deeper part of the brain. i'm 28 years old and to this day I still get an awesome sense of reverence and legacy when I here this tune. In some ways this is the best piece of music ever put to a movie scene.

  • Literally, every time I see that moment when Atreyu after a hellish journey of pain, discovery and courage sees that tower. I literally get goosebumps on my arms and a shiver down my spine.

    Purely epic.

  • The Ivory Tower looks to me like it could been inspired by the Paradise tower of the painter Hieronymous Bosch.

  • bo ho (tear drops fall) (snif snif) tuchining song. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

  • @IsabelleGrubb Everyone can help finding a cure for Muscular Dystrophy. Please write worldcommunitygrid into the search field of Youtube to get further information.

Installing the Programm BOINC on your homecomputer, you donate unused computer capacity to researchers. One of the projects is trying to find a cure for Muscular Dystrophy. Please note that this is fundametal research. So, a cure cannot be expected too soon, unfortunately. BOINC is safe and has been working several years now.

  • Lovely scene, from a movie that made us dream when we were young!

  • *tear . everytime

  • Gmork said the Nothing was caused by humans loosing dreams and wishes (I vaugly remember in II the bookstore keeper saying it changes each time you read it). Is this all based on Bastian? Would it be different with someone else reading it? (Never did like II and II; in III Falcor looked and sounded TERRIBLE)

  • Amo Amo Amo Amo Amo Amo Amo Amo Amo Amo Amo Amo Amo Amo Amo Amo Amo Amo Amo Amo ...................

  • This is my favorite of the different versions of the Ivory Tower theme.

  • can someone plz send me this song??

  • @SergeCWazukie ... I Have the Ihis song ... so i can send u ;)

  • this music allways makes me think of karazhan in world of warcraft game cuz its a tower in world of warcraft so i love the music!

  • hahah

    WoW<3

  • This was the BEST soundtrack!!!

  • Im able to reproduce this song using the Korg TR and the Roland X7. Wish the sound track was with it.

  • See, really the Tower is actually gone now, but the Orin represents the Soul of the "real" boy that still has hope and dreams. It's the soul of the boy that Ateyu calls upon to bring him to the Tower. Pretty amazing.

  • Lol) It make me cry :' ' ' everytime when i hear this music!

    this movie is AWESOME!!!

  • i'm unable to find this song. the only one with the same theme seems an house-disco version :S i like this orchestral version, but can't find ç__ç

  • So beautiful...

  • What is this sourced from? I know it's the english version with the Giorgio Moroder theme but the pitch sounds a little different.

  • this is legendary movie, but the second part isn't so good at all.

  • @Kristhor If you think think part 2 was bad, you should watch Neverending Story III. Or.... maybe not, it will scar your memory >.<

  • The song makes my hair stand on end. :]

  • Original theme? it is the only theme that I remember, it has a dreamy feel, just right for the movie. Was the music different in the American release?. I would like to watch both versions for comparison. Some films seem to work better in one language than another, Mon père, ce héros, was made in French in 1991 and in English (My Father the Hero) in 1994 when it just didn't seem funny. Maybe it was just my beer going flat.

  • yea..I heared this one was a remade version of the original one heared on the soundtrack. They changed it and put it in the movie as we still remember it till now.

  • This scene is so beautiful but a little bit sad. I like this "Ivory tower" piece, too.

  • the pan pipes in the first 20secs made me cry

  • If you like the music preceding the Ivory Tower theme, i've uploaded it as "Flight to the Ivory Tower"

  • Magnolia... era un capullo de Magnolia que se abría en las noches de luna. Además estaba finamente tallado y lleno de relieves, parecía un bello encaje. En la película la torre es muy de Star Wars pero no le llega a la descripción.

  • Wonder how many Fantasian elephants had to be slaughtered to build the Ivory Tower LOL

  • @krystlerita

it was well worth it, it is such a beautiful tower

  • @krystlerita it was built from eunuchhorns... whuahahahahaha

  • L'Espagne a également joué cette chanson dans les coulisses de la tour d'ivoire. La vérité est, comme je l'ai dit dans un autre rapport avec cette vidéo, je préfère la version de Moroder.

  • When I was little I always thought the Ivory Tower was a giant cob of corn...

  • Like or dislike - this synth music is not the original music.

  • fuckin genius!!!!!

  • i love this movie i own it:)n i love the theme music to the ivory tower

  • this movie started it all, i mean tha harry potter, lord of the rings, etc. and to me this still remains one of the best fantasy movies of all time.

  • amen

  • Well the Lord of the Rings was a really old set of books . . .

  • This theme is way better to the Ivory Tower it feels mor Majestic to it... I didnt like the other one it didnt feel majestic

  • I respectfully disagree. ;)

  • Apparently respect isn't appreciated around these parts...

  • Man, I see no reason to not include this wonderful piece of music along with the soundtrack!! why they couldn't put it instead of that synth piece of shit?! :( they just don't know any better... I'm also respecting Klaus Doldinger, and all of his music works in the film. But, as I grown on the American version, Giorgio Moroder's "Ivory Tower" piece is better for my opinion. It's like those circles on the top of the tower used as the bells sounds in the music piece of it :) Always felt like that.

  • @Strekoza Amen! I've been looking for this version and yeah, this is much, much better than what you called 'that synth piece of shit'. I agree completely. This one fits the scene and pretty much impresses the audience of the majesty and grandeur of the Ivory Tower.

  • @Strekoza Aren't you mixing it up? The piece you can hear here is Klaus Doldinger's, which I could not find anywhere in any of the soundtracks I have bought. Instead, they've put Moroder's one, qhich is more modern and with a lot of synth. I personally like this one faaaar better. Does anyone know where I could get it?

  • @Volodioso Nope. The first seconds IS Klaus Doldinger's (track no. 14 on the German released OST - Flug Zum Elfenbeinturm), the latter (0:22) IS definitely by Giorgio Moroder (a version which absent off the American released OST - watch?v=e48CINCrIJM).

But hey, it's 2 years behind, now :)

  • @Strekoza OMG!! Thank you so much for the link which led me to a downloadable mp3!! I know it had beed 2 years, but I have been looking for this theme sooo desperately!!

  • @Volodioso You welcome dude.

  • OH MY GOSH!!!! ITS TEH IVORY TOWER : O * collides with it and the needle part of it snaps and the whole thing comes crashing down into the light *

  • I am 24 and this music still gives me chills and brings me near to tears....its so beautiful! And the images even tho they are as old as me are still great!

  • Your a star, whoever you are.

  • Look for the german version of the "Ivory Tower" theme...

  • the american one is better.

  • That's a matter of opinion.

  • Omg I agree me too It makes me emotional Lol really

  • This is my favorite instrumental piece ever!

  • How many elephants or elephant type creatures had to die to make that tower?! MURDERERS!

  • More than exist...

  • i dont think its real i thnink they just use pcs or somethin like that. i dont think they would kill elephants just to make something for their movie. x x

  • lol ur funny.

  • The music fits the scene so well!

  • This bit used to be my favourite part of the entire film. I must have watched it a zillion times as a kid.

Even now it still sends a shiver down my spine!

  • yes indeedy.

  • i lovee this part of the moviee
