  • Plus, Sesame Street goes out of of its way to be PC and to NOT say that Jesus is the 'son of God' or holy or a savior; just that he grows up to be 'a great teacher to many'....

  • SIGH. This excerpt is from a full length Sesame Street holiday video that gives equal time to Hannukah and Kwanzaa, and even has kids talking about how they celebrate Ramadan and Three Kings Day. Relax, folks.

  • I personally think this clip is funny.

    1. To the complainers: this is meant to be educational. I am Christian and thoroughly enjoyed Passover Sesame Street and other holidays I've celebrated with them over the years. I would let my kids watch it.

    2. If you have ever been in a church Christmas play, you know just how funny some of the little slip-ups can be. Classify these as good times.

  • I'm glad that they keep it fairly secular, after all, Jesus did exist. The bible is the only source of the mysticism and spirituality surrounding Jesus as a prophet, and the use or non-use of biblical teaching should be decided by the parents. It's the same with any other controversial issue, evolution, gender/lifestyle issues, etc. Sesame street can only provide an impetus for learning more about such things, not to indoctrinate or heavily influence children.

  • Of course, Gladys the cow refused to participate, having her alternate lifestyle...

  • Actually, Christ's birthday is April 6 but yes, Christmas is the commemoration thereof. It's sweet to see my Savior discussed in this and this is the most hilarious thing I've seen all week!

  • @ILoveSexyArabicWomen - Christmas was changed to December, to combine it with the pagan holiday of midwinter "Saturnalia", Christmas is as much secular as Religious. Incidentally, your username has me questioning your Piousness...

  • HAHAHAHHAHA BABY NATASHA'S LITTLE CRAWLING LEGS LOL 2:13 so adorable

  • So funny, gud for all ages!

  • 1:13 That cracks me up!!!!!

  • hahahah! that's the most amazing thing ever ;)

  • 1:20 - HAY? Oh no!

  • nice...

  • nice, kids loved it

  • The wise men didn't come till a few years after the incarnation. That is why Herod wanted to wipe out every baby 2 years and younger.

  • @nUaSvAy the wise men didnt bring cookies either! sheeze. its sesame street, not the christan broadcasting network...

  • Hooray for Sesame Street! So glad that you are not afraid to say things like CHRISTMAS and JESUS!

  • Oh No! The computer has wondered into the fire!

  • I can't say I'm surprised that so many people have something to say about Sesame Street talking about Christmas; some of you so-called pc people will always have something to complain about. I have been watching Sesame Street all of my 33 years and in that time I've seen them cover Jewish, Christian, and Muslim holidays. I have also seen them make every effort to show children that there's nothing wrong with being different. Some people will never be pleased. To you I say, CHANGE THE CHANNEL!

  • I completely concur! Well said.

  • 4:18 "UGH I'm getting a migrane."

  • Aah, okay, my mistake, "God" and "savior" weren't even mentioned, nor the location of the birth. But yes, Jesus was a great teacher, regardless, i think all faiths can agree on that...so sorry flowerygirl, but as a Buddhist, the idea that Jesus is a deity incarnate is a question of faith, the Christian faith; and you are welcome to have that strong faith, but I simply don't share it. in any case, Happy Christmas everyone!

  • Aww! Baby natasha so cute! but yeah, not everyone sees Christmas in the Christian fashion, so rather a faux pas there...

  • true

  • I'm normally pro-SS, which often does a better job of entertainment than adult-oriented sitcoms and a better job of teaching preschoolers than actual public school teachers. But damn, do they have to toss RELIGION into the mix? What happened to Christmas Eve on Sesame Street, where Big Bird learned that proving God/Santa's existance wasn't the most important thing in life? I'm Jewish, and I'd hate my kids to see this. Watching other people celebrate Xmas reminds me how different I am.

  • @ExclusiveCheese maybe you haven't seen enough S.S. then. I've seen a couple of Jewish episodes. You can search and watch them here.

  • @skating123456789

yep baby bear and his family are Jewish

  • Most adorable Baby Jesus!! Happy Birthday,Jesus! Mmmwwhhhaaa! xo

  • While I am thrilled to see them recognise the real meaning of Christmas, Jesus wasn't just a great teacher. He is GOD, not just an ordinary man. I hope that people can come to realize this fact even without it being said that way on this clip.

  • i would have thought ernie would play Mary...

  • LOL that wud be FUNNY

  • WAS THIS FROM 2007?

  • I haven't seen Prairie Dawn, Harry or Natasha in ages! This was awesome!

  • That is just too awesome! A children show talking about Jesus! Never thought I'd see the day! (again)

  • Merry Christmas, Sesame Street!

  • It's very nice, but they watered it down a bit.

  • It's a lot better then most, that don't even recognize Christmas.

  • Even Sesame Street talks about Jesus!! I love it!!! God bless you all and Merry Christmas!!!
