  • You have some good components in this shake, however keep in mind that they use skim milk to fatten pigs and calves. Fat doesn't make you fat. Sugar and carbs do. So use whole milk or full fat cottage cheese, kefir or yogurt. You'll feel full longer and need less sweetener added to your shake to make it taste good.   • @topgun7777 eggs make a fabulous addition to shakes. The whites contain all of the protein and the yolks provide the vitamins and fat (forgot everything you've been told about eggs and cholesterol-eggs promote healthy cholesterol, not the artery clogging kind).

  • Great recipe as always, does anyone know if the jello can be replaced with unsweetened cocoa powder and the fat free cottage cheese with a low fat version or nonfat Greek yogurt? Has anyone tried this? Someone please reply.

  • I don't really understand why the hell you would do this. You eat protein shakes because you don't have time to eat a real meal. If you had enough time to do this why wouldn't you just cook real food?

    1.) one cannot eat a shake

    2.) having PURE protein should be apart of your diet....if you are eating 6 meals a day, then at least 2 of those should be shakes.....they also have BCAA's and amino acids you need that food doesnt give

    3.) whey is also sometimes added to food to boost its protein ratings, making you eat less and feel more full in the process.

    4.) casein is a slow digesting protein that takes your body 2x as long than regular protein or food so its a before bed shake

  • Don't use raw eggs. It's not a very high probability of getting sick but the one egg that gives you salmonella poisoning will make staying away from using raw eggs worth it.

  • You could just use curd. I got a pretty good recipe for an awesome proteinshake with low fat without proteinpowder.

    250g Curd

    1-2dl skim milk(depends on how thick you want it)

    1 fruit of choice

    The 250g is aprox 9oz, and the milk is 4-8oz.

    You could also add proteinpowder if you want the extra protein, but I doubt its needed. The curd in sweden is ~11g protein, 4g carbs, 0g fat. Thats the main reason Im using it.

  • @bdumaguina Casein is typically a protein source consumed in the evening, often before bed.  It is absorbed more slowly than a whey protein. I sometimes eat some cottage cheese with fresh berries in the evening. Though lately I have been preferring greek yogurt. The ingredient list on greek yogurt is much shorter, and in my option, the less added to food, the better.

    I like the chocolate myoplex meal replacement packet with about 1 cup of skim milk, 1 cup of water, half to whole frozen banana, and a little natural PB.

  • this isnt a protein shake !! this is just a high protein meal ... protein shake is a very high release supplement so it goes right to u muslues when u drink it , while this is slow relase so your body needs to digeste it which will take a long time . its a good meal but a protein shake is way better option

  • @Haydinho21 Egg whites (I was going to use that instead originally), but feared of the hate I would get...make sure your egg whites are pasteurized - this means they are heated up enough to kill any of the bacteria beforehand. I drink shakes with pasteurized egg whites everyday - they taste great in a shake and add a nice consistency. Maybe I will make a second video to show you guys.

  • @leanbodylifestyle the main ingredient in my shake is 3 raw whole eggs, i drink the shake twice a day, every day. i started doing this 2 years ago and i was never sick. if any one wants the recipe just ask,it tastes great by the way!

  • Noone seems to know that casein protein is junk for you.The hype about it is that its "slow digesting" and that when taken before bed it will give a constant supply of protein over night. Its slow digesting because its hard on your body to break downand push through its biological value is in the 60's. Yourbody isn't even using most ofthe protein because you cant digest it very well lol.Plus your body needs rest on the inside of you too.Your body shouldNOT be digesting food while you're sleeping

  • Protein Powder is not expensive. I think it is one of the cheapest sources of Protein you can get! £50 for 5kg Protein Powder is 1p per 1g of protein powder. That works out at about 10p per 8g of protein. I cant think of any other source (off the top of my head) that is cheaper. I live in the UK though, no idea about prices in the USA.

  • Hey, question. Im 190. 5' 8". Im trying to get down to 160. How much cardio should I do? and how long do you think it will take me, if Im working out 4-5 days a week?

    Make sure that you're doing about half an hour's cardio everyday. There are, if you search on YouTube, highly intense cardio workouts in which you do about 4 circuits of 4-6 different exercises with short breaks in between. Make sure you watch your diet and the calories you're taking in a day & aren't eating too many fatty foods. If you want to reduce the amount of calories you have in a day, drop the percentage of your usual calorie intake to about 20% but no high higher than that.

  • @Imran92693 like he said, about 30 mins of cardio each day is good. but dont go for the CARDIO workouts. in my opinion, the best thing is just to run for 30 mins. if you cant do that, run for as long as you can, walk till you can run again and so on. dont get my wrong the cardio workouts are good and all but i like to keep it simple and just run. and remember if your working out with weights your weight wont drop as fast as you'd like, so dont use your body weight as a judge because your going

  • to gain muscle, which weighs more than fat. it really depends on how your working out and what your goals are.. good luck

  • @Carljoakimmm Protein does not provide magical weight loss properties. It's about raising you activity level, and reducing your caloric intake. The benefit of replacing fat grams with grams of protein/carbs is reduction of caloric intake without feeling as though ur eating less.

  • @reptilianskin No no that's not what I'm saying. I was trying to say that it's very important to get enough protein when you are loosing weight. If you consume less calories than you burn you have to eat enough protein if not you might be loosing muscle too
